Steamies are racist transphobic chuds.
Should I buy Beyond light or lightfall?
neither, play a better game
beyond light's content is mostly irrelevant (deep stone crypt has good shit in it), stasis is shit right now due to overreliance on a single armor mod that got removed, at least from what I've heard people saying (I just never bothered with the class much to begin with).
Lightfall itself is complete filler trash that serves entirely to give you strand. However, the seasonal story that it's bundled with is on par with the higher quality ones we got all of last year. Basically everything surrounding the DLC is fine but the DLC itself is trash.
>the season is good tho!
it will get deleted.
filler storyline for the penultimate expansion of the "story arc", 3 expansions were announced initially and an additional 1 was added about a year later, however all signs such as the cutscene
, strand being delayed from TWQ into this, and the nothing plot of lightfall, point towards the real 3rd expansion now being the 4th.
So to explain a bit better, in 2019 Bungie said
>Beyond Light, The Witch Queen, Lightfall, and a new sub class in each
Which became
>Beyond Light, The Witch Queen [minus new subclass, reworks of originals over the year instead], Lightfall, and The Final Shape
Originally people believed the 2019 Lightfall was split into two, but it appears 2019 Lightfall just became The Final Shape and 2023 Lightfall is filler made on a shorter dev cycle.
>stasis is shit right now due to overreliance on a single armor mod that got removed
I bet they bring it back next season as an artifact mod.
>stasis is shit right now due to overreliance on a single armor mod that got removed, at least from what I've heard people saying (I just never bothered with the class much to begin with
Stasis is still good for Warlocks atleast, the need for elemental charge on crystals is really overstated I think but its a pretty huge oversight it doesnt have any interaction given the non lethal angle of the moves
For CC on Titan and Hunter it's insanely mogged by Strand though for sure
Buy everything goyim.
don't buy anything from this game
play it f2p, it will give you 80% of the guns that everyone is using or an equivalent of it, you can farm godroll armor from anywhere, play 2 raids and a dungeon that contain good gear, and doesn't give you an addiction to do 50+ activites every week for a number to go up
thanks doc
This seems bad until you notice that witch queen is literally the only expansion with a positive rating, and even then I think its only mostly positive.
Context?
It's blatant filler. If you take the opening and closing cutscenes of the campaign you can stitch them together and its seamless, almost like it was originally one scene so everything in between had to be pulled from the deepest reaches of their ass.
Lightfall is ass in the grand scheme of things
>Filler Expansion that explains nothing
>Raid was Piss Easy on Day one and offers nothing to the table in comparison to Witch Queen
>Pvp is still and always will be shit
>Gambit is still shit and got nothing of value
>PvE is even more ass now
>reskinned Weapons
>Strand Warlock and Hunter are the only good new supers
>Game is constantly having technical issues up the ass due to Bungie using the same dogshit engine
I could go on and on Snoy really thought this was a big win to buy
I bought it to play with a long distance friend (it is the only game he plays, unfortunately). The campaign was actually sort of fun to play through. People criticizing it are complaining because it didn't develop the story at all. The thing is, if you're playing Destiny for the story you are fucking retarded. Either way Bungie is a shit, predatory company, and the game is pozzed/woke and I would never have touched it on my own. That said you can have an alright time if you just want Halo with stats.
You sound like a gay
Sorry I don't like the Marvel tier gayry of the Destiny story dumb moron.
lol, what the fuck happened?
i remember when the trailer came out, people were so hyped about it.
The 9th year of bungies 10 year plan is filler.
the real lightfall contents that people are excited for were all pushed back to the next expansion
what we got instead was filler to buy time for the actual good one
>the real lightfall contents that people are excited for were all pushed back to the next expansion
what content exactly?
who knows at this point
so the content people are excited for is content they dont even know about?
what?
the content of a story with darker themes where we defeat the final boss and end the light vs dark conflict that has been going on for eons in-game and a decade irl
they did an amazing job of hyping everyone up, until the dlc turned out to be blatant filler that answered zero questions, added a few more, and then fucked established lore.
The opening and last cutscene of the dlc are literally two halves of the same intro cutscene, there's 0 original weapon model sets, which I'm pretty sure is a first, Strand was "no you can't have it until the end of the campaign" despite half the campaign being dedicated to learning it, They had two entire missions and a training montage dedicated to "you're learning how to use this new power/you have learned this new power" and then they still fucking refused to give you it outside of designated "use new power here" encounters. Also it's PAINFULLY obvious that it was supposed to be in Witch Queen instead and just pushed back.
They also put a chud in who manages to be the most annoying character in the entire setting by no small margin by being composed of nothing but marvel quips.
fuckin tell me about it, I'm just trying to make the best out of having been burned. At least I didn't fuck up big-time and buy the full season pass.
>Also it's PAINFULLY obvious that it was supposed to be in Witch Queen instead and just pushed back.
I'm so confused people are even speculating about this, I'm almost certain Bungie themselves confirmed they pushed back the subclass from TWQ over a year ago now. Am I imaging this? I keep getting videos recommeded to me going
>allegedly Strand was meant for TWQ
like no it was literally the plan, Bungie said so, right?
Additionally on your other point, I can appreciate you trying to make the best out of things, and I'm not saying you're this kind of person, but I'm so sick of brain rotted Destiny players praising or defending or citing the seasonal model as a point in Bungie's favour given the obvious issue of deleting them so I feel I have to point that out.
Story is ass, Calus fight was dumb and anticlimactic, most of the raid is a 6 man dungeon in terms of complexity/difficulty (3rd fight's okay), you have constantly hear a they/them himbo do redditspeak if you're on the new planet.
As others said it's a clear bait and switch and people are upset about it, also they did "you have to play the whole campaign to gain access to the new subclass" AGAIN, something that everyone already hated about Beyond Light.
The story didn't move at all (despite that clearly being what was advertised, so 'hurr durr you don't play destiny 2 for the story' fags are retarded) and everything just feels like a
pointless filler patch full of reused assets.
Something no one else has mentioned so far in this thread is that the new patrol zone is mostly inaccessible from the start - it's actually made to be played once you are done with the expansion and are building on pinnacle light level, so if you try to play it before then you'll get one shot by everything and do no damage.
For a $50 expansion
-story sucks
-characters suck
-guns suck and can be obtained by people that didn't buy the expansion, not to mention the other guns shown in trailers aren't in the game
-raid is a glorified dungeon with average weapons
+subclass is really fun
+soundtrack and aesthetics are fantastic
So basically the cons outweigh the plus for the asking price and people are tired of it
>expecting anything good from this shitass company
>expecting anything good from this shit series
>expecting anything good from this shit game
everyone who left a review is a gay, because theyve actually played this dogshit
imagine that, someone actually installed this garbage and played it
and yet these gays think their opinion is actually worth shit?
they are like people who walked up to a swimming pool filled with liquid shit, got on the diving board, did a perfect dive with multiple 10s straight into the shit, and then said "ew, it's shit"
fucking retards
Bungie should go back to making Halo
I'll ask this as someone who hasn't played since the release of D2, and I've played D1 until second expansion.
Have they added a single new race of enemies? Or any new enemies to the present races?
New elements?
What's the sunsetting shit about? Are they removing content?
They added a variant of fallen called the Scorn back in year 2, but that's it.
Two new elements in Beyond Light and Lightfall.
Sunsetting's way in the past. About halfway through year two, they put out two "do a bunch of shit in competitive crucible" weapons that BTFO'd every other weapon so badly that they had to implement a power cap on everything up until like year 4 so you couldn't just shit on the entire game with the same two guns forever. They could've done it with just those guns but for whatever retarded reason, year 4 started with "we're invalidating pretty much all of your equipment right now". On top of that they introduced the "Vault", which is just corporate speak for "we're removing the original game and first year expansions (Forsaken is up next)", but they also tried to spin it as an excuse to give us some D1 strikes and raids in return.
>Have they added a single new race of enemies? Or any new enemies to the present races?
no new race, some new enemies I guess
>new elements
do you mean subclasses because there is 2 new ones, a third on the way, and the original have been reworked
>sunsetting/removing content
guns no longer getting sunset, that ended very quickly.
expansions no longer being removed, so Red War/Warmind/Curse/Half of Forsaken/Season of the Drifter+Forge+Opulence were the final casualties.
HOWEVER all seasons since Shadowkeep are still being deleted and are unlikely to ever return at all, despite since becoming extremely important narratively and in Lightfall's case more important than the expansion storyline. Seasons of the previous year get deleted with the release of the newest expansions.
Bungie haven't made a good game since ODST.
>destiny 2 expac comes out
>it's dogshit
>my friends who all swear they were done with destiny 2 all buy it and play it for like 3 weeks before dropping it and saying its dogshit
it's 50 fucking dollars what is their problem
>it's 50 fucking dollars what is their problem
Stockholm Syndrome.
It's bizarre how something shit like Destiny 2 has so many people grinding it. I guess there are just no coop shooters on consoles at all or something.
the division 2 is objectively better than destiny 2 in every way
>My goyslop is better than your goyslop.
Looter shooter grindathon number crunching "games" should be illegal for being gay and boring and shit and repetitive and gay.
theres no endgame in Division 2
There's no variation at all in Division 2, you just farm the different builds and do the same content
so destiny 2?
Holy shit 50$ DLC? For anyone who plays this shit, is it actually worth the price? Like does each dlc feel like a whole games worth of content?
Is this the last expansion? Honestly they should just make destiny 3 and leave this Activision trash heap behind
There's another one called the final shape releasing next year
Trailers should pop up around June or so
15 hours in and $0 spent, do i just get out now bros?
If you feel like you don't want more stuff then sure
>still in top 10 most played steam games
these review bombs sure showed bungo
of course its in the top 10 its a free to play game you retard. those numbers don't list "only people who bought the expansion". theres thousands of brazilians running old content
>in top 5 best sellers right now
nice try though moron
Just make destiny 3 already
>all the dungeons require you to join a discord group and interact with people
Why is this their design choice? Lots of loot is locked behind dungeons and raids which only <10% of players even get
the game encourages you to solo them
raids will get an lfg system later this year
Ive heard "later this year" for years now
Its not entirely dumb since you have to use your brain for Dungeons and especially raids. Honestly? they cant create a LFG for Destiny raids, how can they determine whether or not people will use that system to learn how to raid vs just going in and expecting carries. That would never fucking work. It's just a unique part of the experience, implementing better social features should be the priority.
and if I remember correctly the communications being disabled are not on purpose its because bungie have to get by the ESRB and the ESRB come down hard on games that have open mics which is fucking retarded.
Funny how Destiny 2 is ostensibly an "MMOFPS" yet the definitive endgame experience is soloing group content.
>make an FPS with really good gunplay
>make the backstory be bullshit insane in a good way
>decide to just make the shittiest possible choices with everything else
What the fuck happened?
>>make the backstory be bullshit insane in a good way
I have spent years hearing about how fucking cool the lore of destiny is, but I have played a binge of it yearly and still have no idea about most of the lore, and the actual narrative is non-existant.
It genuinely has me jaded like what the fuck is good lore mean now if Destiny is filled with it and yet there's just fucking nothing to in game?
It's all in those lore text dump files that nobody reads. You get them regularly for filling out your triumphs tab.
It's okay when from software does it
>make an FPS with really good gunplay
This is Destiny thread.
The gunplay is some of the best in the industry and the main reason to even play the game.
all they did is max out the aim assist on everything so even a troglodyte like you will consistently hit shots you would never hit in any other game, and in the case of pvp to be able to hit anyone at all with this shit p2p
What
said is true, all the guns sound and feel good, there's constant flow to the combat and it feels fluid as fuck. I hate Destiny, but calling its gunplay bad is retardedly wrong.
>aim assist + magnetism immensely more than Halo
>AI just stands around to get shot in the face
>good gunplay
every weapon except (some) exotics being reskins of each other over and over and over again doesn't make interesting nor varied gunplay, let alone 'good'
Can someone explain to me what Destiny 2 is about? Is it just some MMO?
It's a game, like a videogame you play it on a computer
>Buy Destiny 2: Lightfall + Annual Pass
>99.99$
Holy shit, do these retards really?
Who the fuck buys this?
Destiny fans but apparently a lot of them have been refunding the purchase or have been complaining about being unable to do that. It really is a sight to behold since not even youtubers shills are defending it anymore.
Haven't seen people this mad about Destiny since Destiny 2 launched back in 2017.
>paying good money for Destiny shit
Why?
