remember when people thought gladion and lillie would switch roles and the game would overall be darker and edgier due to that one poster with everyone looking angry?
good times

Don't care if it's never stated, the guy in poké pelago is still their father and Lusamine's husband to me. He just looks too much like them.
Its stated multiple times across both games.
USUM was a weird game, they added a-lot more to the story but it somehow felt less complete. There's this whole alien clan researching UBs that isn't really developed, and feels like it could be a separate game.
>they added a-lot more to the story but it somehow felt less complete
Because they also outright removed SM's payoff without removing the lead to it.
moron, its literally confirmed in the anime (there was even a whole episode dedicated to it) and in the postgame of usum. Did you even play the game?
It's outright confirmed in the games, both normal SM and USUM. When you go into the labs under Aether Paradise to the area where the Type: Nulls were being kept, you can read notes from both Faba and a 'Professor Mohn' who was Lusamine's husband. The only other Mohn you ever meet is the Poke Pelago guy, and it's not a coincidence that he looks like Lillie and Gladion.
Pikachu Valley may actually be the worst location in all of Pokemon >literally nothing to do but sit there and make Pikachu come out of the trailer >this is what they expected people to do because there are unique things like a Mimikyu coming out or a line of Pikachu coming out
I was watching someone dine at the Pokemon Cafe today at my sister's apartment because she just watches YouTube in her spare time and it made me feel so hollow, not unlike how Pikachu Valley felt. I know I know, 'food analogy' but seriously look up Pokemon Cafe and you will get a good idea of why I compare the two.
USUM was a weird game, they added a-lot more to the story but it somehow felt less complete. There's this whole alien clan researching UBs that isn't really developed, and feels like it could be a separate game.
They fucked up SM's story because they added some tidbits but didn't bother to change enough things.
For example, Lusamine is now a good person that wants to save the world even if her methods are questionable, but she still has frozen Pokémon like a psycho.
Also, as they "added" instead if "changed" things it made everything a slog. It's incredible how they managed to make USUM a worse game than the base games.
Pretty much this, although purely gameplay wise I think USUM is superior because of the finished content from SM (Mina's Trial, Mt Lanakila) and the bigger dex
USUM might actually be my least favorite games of the mainline. There are other games with worse problems (SWSH dexcut, SV being unfinished) but they were at least new content. No other game has ever felt as much like a waste of time to me as USUM. Even the Rainbow Rocket shit felt dull and pointless.
> have no reason to be together
The reason is literally stated time and again, they're brought together to help Giovanni. And what do you think fanservice should be like? It was just a cool reference to all the past games since USUM was the last 3DS game and was basically treated as the end of an era. And it's a decent postgame activity
> And what do you think fanservice should be like?
Not him, but having any of the characters back would be in this case.
In here not only you get alternate world versions, they're all forced(by the writing) to do shit they wouldn't agree on.
Heck, if you want it might actually be argued that it makes you appreciate the little differences these villains had.
To be entirely fair to both sides, it is true that its also a common issue when villains are grouped together in comics, and its worse the more "modern" things get.
Fanservice only works when it has purpose. Imagine if Anakin put on the Darth Vader outfit for the entirety of the prequel trilogy even though he has zero reason to wear it. Gen 7 was the pinnacle of Kanto pandering.
Outside of Leon and his CHARIZARDERINO, they dialled back the Kanto pandering a lot in gen 8. Kalos and Alola were a lot more upfront and focally about it. The protagonist for the Alola games is explicitly said to have moved there from Kanto, for example
>It was just a cool reference to all the past games since USUM was the last 3DS game
Gamefreak didn't belive in the Switch, they had no reason to thing USUM would be the last 3DS game they do while making it

Why would they help Giovanni? Some of them like Lysandre and Cyrus wold never work together, let alone help Giovanni.
From what I remember, it seemed like everyone thought Giovanni was helping them and some like Archie and Maxie weren't even aware of the other leaders being there. Then there's Ghetsis who was only pretending to collaborate and just waiting for a chance to backstab Giovanni.
All in all it was never a true alliance, just people thinking they were exploiting Giovanni while it was actually him exploiting them.
The worst part is that you get no special interactions if you have a Pikachu of your own
CHARIZARD Valley when?
>Charicific Valley already exists.
""""""sequel""""""
Wow it's been two years and there's still weird guys in dirty alleyways trying to flash you.
These games are pretty realistic I think.
>complain about literally anything about a newer gen
>"b-but muh UNOVA"
like clockwork
>bort instantly seething
>he thinks bortshit is "old gen"
Like clockwork
Too obvious
Nitpicking tiny issues will not stop people from liking Unova. Die mad about it.
USA USA USA
Built for Ghetsis' scepter.
Nobody over the age of 23 likes Unova
I'm 30 and gen 5 is in my top 3 favorites.
Less of them like Kalos
Why'd they move the camera closer?
Because if you look at the shadow, the player is in a different position in the second pic.
if this game had a dex that was more like gen 1/2/3/4 then we wouldn't have any of this nushit mess.
It’s the best joke in the series why wouldn’t they use it twice?
>it's supposed to be creeps flashing kids reference
Holy sovl, BW was genius
You're saying hobos can't stay in the same spot two years later?
>the mad lad has been getting away with this for 2 years
remember when people thought gladion and lillie would switch roles and the game would overall be darker and edgier due to that one poster with everyone looking angry?
good times
and the UBs matching the main characters. Still drives me fucking mad.
That was for vanilla SM
Its stated multiple times across both games.

Real talk, what the fuck did they mean by that?
Probably red and blue/green at the end
They meant all of the pokemon fanbase's money would come together to line their pockets
Nothing, literally, nothing.
It was the last time you had every single Pokemon in the game.
They were hinting Sword and Shield with that phrase actually
>the one leaker that mentioned literally everything that was added but also mentioned new regional forms which didn't happen
Honestly
I would not be surprised if they were planning on adding new Regionals considering we got new Regionals for SWSH DLC
Don't care if it's never stated, the guy in poké pelago is still their father and Lusamine's husband to me. He just looks too much like them.
I'm pretty sure it's stated/heavily implied and canon.

YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE PIKACHU
I don't need to escape Pikachu at all - as that's how you get Raichu…
Would have been cool if it was alolan raichu valley.
Oh who am I kidding? Half of the board would still have complained because of it being a regional kantomon
I hated USUM so fucking much. Just a sad excuse for a game.
>set up a Jurassic park type thing
>nah more pikachu
I hate this franchise

USUM should have been sequels like BW2 were.
It had the foundations for it like the league being new or Lillie fucking off to become a trainer.
>SM promises JURASSIC PARK
>usum turns it into pikachu park
what the fuck
game freak had to spare some expenses, prease undastand
i was expecting gen7 fossils to be ultra beasts. even if added later
Please understand

exactly this. I absolutely despise how they just slapped random shit onto random parts of the game and turned it into a huge mess
USUM might actually be my least favorite games of the mainline. There are other games with worse problems (SWSH dexcut, SV being unfinished) but they were at least new content. No other game has ever felt as much like a waste of time to me as USUM. Even the Rainbow Rocket shit felt dull and pointless.
team rainbow rocket was their retarded attempt at fanservice by including a bunch of characters that have no reason to be together

It made sense in SM at least because they were released during the series' 20th anniversary.

>they fucked up lusamine story
mod that fixes gen 7 when?
The legends say that Pikachu, Pyukumuku, and Slowpoke are continuing their journey somewhere in Alola.
we have been robbed
>ultra shit
what the FUCK
the ultra wormhole was very cold, he's not usually this small
You forgot one
Model on the left is only used for battles and cutscenes in XY while the model on the right is used for both battles and overworld USUM.
