Is it my imagination, or does deltarune not get that same barrage of content? Is it the internet that changed? Am I just looking in the wrong places? I know it's only 2 chapters so far but it's definitely on par with undertale, maybe even better. The early ch1 threads and snowgrave discovery were wild.
It's not just you, Deltarune doesn't have even nearly the same massive reach that Undertale did. The internet was absolutely FULL of Undertale for like, 2 straight years after it released.
Deltarune's biggest widespread breakout so far is Spamton becoming a meme character and associating the phrase "big shot" with him, but compared to all of Undertale's comic dubs, Sans Bad Time songs, fan content, AU shit... it's not really that big.
That content still exists, it's just that basically every social media website went anemic after 2016 to try and fuck with the following elections and content discovery is extremely fucked.

This is due to many things, but largely most gamers are super addicted to some live service game (on here the average user hates those, but in reality its not the case )and only play and consume content for that game.
Also gaming content is way different, people like watching drama, outrage, esports and clips over longer form letsplays if we're talking about youtube.
And Streamers usually now only play games if they're sponsored, some of the largest ones not playing games much at all because partaking in drama or watching videos is easier and more lucrative.
Tldr Undertale getting that big was heavily reliant on it getting free advertisement that Deltarune won't get no matter how good it is

With the rolling release of Deltarune causing players to get fed up with Toby, they are looking back at Undertale and wondering why they praised it when the same criticisms against Deltarune can be levied against it.
Good single player games can only be found in first person dungeon crawlers, as the ludonarrative harmony is at its highest peak in said games.

Deltarune gained the content barrage during Spamton event due to love for Spamton,
that was the only time Deltarune yet showing the brilliance Undertale had (UT however is a finished product unlike Deltarune)
