I like the gameplay too, what I don't like is how incredibly sweaty it is in PvP, and if you don't play like you are in the finals of CoD league, you will get shat on, and if that happens, it takes way too much time to get back into the action.
It's a cool concept, but not casual friendly. And I'm extremely casual these days, I don't have any desire to keep up with dudes in their 20s sweating on video games all day.
The game itself, if this were similar to something like S.T.A.L.K.E.R, would actually be really cool. Just a shame it's wasted on pvp with no room for light casual play. At the very least they could have separated casual play to competitive or something but no.
If you aren't 5-6 star MMR for more than 200h then your opinion is irrelevant.
The bad parts of this game are the custom ammo, more spam weapons and the extract system needs to be changed to be more dynamic. It's too easy to extract camp so people in higher MMR don't go for the only objective. Match time limits need to be decreased too. They need to add a search filter to have daytime only and single bounty maps. Trios should only be single bounty.

I dunno man. Even in my 20's I wasn't spending every minute grinding a pvp game, college and living life in general didn't gave much time. Even nowadays with my work at home job I can't find much time to spend on competitive Vidya.

I think part of it is engine limitations, which they said they are planning to upgrade to their new engine soon but I think another big part of it is that most of the devs are bronze or silver players from watching them stream.
Third I think it suffers the same exact problems Dayz Mod or Tarkov do where a simple esp hack gives you a massive advantage over other players since everything is so heavily sound based. Regular players get crippled by the sound traps and esp players even without aimbot or anything else have so much positional data over others that it becomes overwhelmingly difficult to counter.
Another big problem is that the matchmaking system basically means nothing. There is 1-6 stars but theres essentially no difference between 1-5 stars. The only difference in the playerbase is between high 5 and 6 and like half of the 6 stars are most likely cheating or play rainbow 6 siege style and stare down pathways with 1 tap shotguns or run away not engaging with mosin spitzers. Meanwhile, the 1-5 stars constantly somehow die to NPCs, walk off buildings falling to their death, and blow themselves up with their own grenades.
Honestly I never see extraction camping at all. Maybe 1 in 70 games. You might get raced to extract but most games you all fight at compound and the winner of the last fight extracts alone.

It has the meaning is that everyone else is way better, and I'm not 20 anymore, and I don't feel like going all in like all those kids I get matchmade with. I'm not a bad player, but I would have to seriously "sweat", read put in way more effort to keep up then I feel like putting into it. One you get older, get a job, have family and responsibilities, you will understand.

After completing challenges and earning my battle pass reward ,I've come to realize that I don't actually want to play anymore until the Christmas event and didnt have fun in the last 10-15 hours.
I'm about the same as you. I basically just play solos in my spare time, use retarded builds/always revive until I hit 3* and then go back into duos and have fun getting back to 5* where it's sweaty as fuck and I have to solo my way back down again. High MMR is just sweaty.
I wish it had character customization. Take away my gear and perks on death but not my character.

Grab a shotgun, preferably rapid firing one
And bunch of dynamites
Queue up with 2 random people
As soon as the match starts, kill them off
Revive them and kill them again
Revive them and either kill them again or pick up a melee weapon and chase them through the entire bayou - you will feel like a slasher movie villain and they are a victim trying to escape you. No "asymmetrical pvp" game can give you such great feeling
Then just enjoy the game solo.
My best ever play was when I killed my two random teammates and then, I assume, while they were spectating I killed two other teams that came to check out our noise

Grab two pairs each of those revolvers with large clips (so you dont have to reload just switch to the next pair lmao) Grab 4 chaos bombs, grab flares, grab firecrackers.
Shoot every single barrel every single zombie on sight. Make as much noise as possible. This is even greater in duo or trio
When someone is banishing boss, make sure you and your teammates split up and approach the lair from X Y Z, as you do it everyone needs to make as much noise as humanely possible. I can guarantee you in such scenario 90% of the player base are shitting their pants,being how cowardly they are. LOL. It's always super fun

If you are on a map with a church, like Healing-Waters Church, go there immediately and just ring the bell for the rest of the match. It sounds very epic from distance, like an atmospheric movie. Enemies will come and if you have a duo partner you can tell him where they are coming from and he can ambush them easily with a silencer or crossbow

Back when I was a kid I cheated not to beat others but I was doing it to watch how the cheat program moved so that I could emulate that movement myself because it was more ideal. Honestly, I wish I could cheat even more now because having the advantage of knowing how to move and teach your brain visually to track better and stuff like that and then take that with you into the game and not cheat just makes you an ever better player. I would recommend if you want to get better at something to watch whoever is better or preferably a machine make these immense microadjustments and emulate those movements.

By memorizing how it tracks people behind walls and the timing they'll take and you get to see how people move around wall edges and how far they tend to stay near the edge or how far they go when they dive back into cover on average and you get a better idea of these movement patterns instead of it being a made up guess in your mind. you actually see what they exactly do and can model that behavior in your mind. Its a real measurement instead of a theoretical guess.

I think that around 50% of the userbase is using walls. Theres so many bullshit scenarios where you are actively afk in a random spot and start taking shots through walls or people throw grenades at your SPECIFIC LOCATION with no LOS.
Ratchaz may or may not be cheating, but watching him, he is a very good player with really strong mechanical skill regardless, which makes it even worse if hes cheating, because hes actually a top player on top of it.

yeah I recently switched to East from West. I think West has the problem because geographically its much closer to asiaticlands.
I think the East server is too far from them to connect to or at least the majority of them. It definitely does seem to be better than west by far.
The monetization of the game is also really annoying. They first reduced the amount of blood bonds you could get from tutorial and then they just outright remove the ability to gain any through gameplay in order to force people to buy their cosmetics and battlepasses. They cant even make any of their stuff truly appealing since its all forced diversity shit like nonbinary hunters.
I got Headsman so I don't need any skins until they nerf him into oblivion.
Also you can still get some Blood Bonds by playing but it's drop in the bucket.
Are you talking about the book challenges or some of the battlepass rewards, because those are the only gameplay related things I can think of? Beyond that you used to get bloodbonds for getting a hunter to level 50 or extracting with boss token.
You used to just get BB for killing hunters as well.
But you can still find BB on the map in cash registers golden ones I found 2 over 700hours so good luck.
Tribute also can give you some BB.
Crytek also raised the price of BB in poor regions I created Turkish Steam account and the price went 4x.
P.S. I do think developers of this game are massive homosexuals. They should have made the main game be a server browser with DM/TDM modes like in Counter Strike. I really like the shootouts that you can have in this game, but seriously despise the core game, especially when you've played hundreds of rounds. Very frequently you get games where you have to run across the entire fucking map for a chance at PvP. What a waste of fucking time

For anyone who cares, Blood West is effectively a single player the hunt. gameplay isnt exactly the same but the general aesthetic is about the same
The current event sucks so much, the only things Hunt really has going for it is the ability to play it sneakily and actually hunt people through the woods and they went and ruined it by littering the map with a million totem poles that let everyone know that you're sneaking up on them so they can just hole up in a shack and not move for 20 minutes until you either try to push in and die to a shotgun or get bored and leave. It's exactly what everyone has always been complaining about happening at boss lairs but now it's almost every single encounter everywhere on the map.
I played this YEARS ago, genuinely when it first came out, and it's unrecognisable now. The game itself became basically unplayable when everybody got too good and/or started cheating. Every match I just got plinked through several layers of bushes and foliage in the head and it stopped being fun for me. It was my go-to drunk/tipsy game to play with friends because you could shitpost and it was pretty laid back, but that changed.
I really like Hunt, but I've been burnt out the past few months. Can't wait for the engine upgrade and new map early next year, though
I'm really keen to see how Bungie's Marathon pans out, because I wasn't a big fan of Tarkov, so I'd like something more casual and easy going like Hunt is, but a sci-fi setting is more appealing to me

I really liked this game till I got to high MMR. Then it went from rootin tootin fest to camp simulator. Every corner and bush just has a guy with a shotgun. Every open area has a crack sniper at a weird angle. Nobody pushes the objective and just waits. It's fucking boring.
I can't play this solo. Not only because I'm a shitter, but also because it's genuinely boring af to try and find someone. I would've liked a deathmatch mode on random quarter of a map or something.

i have 900 hours and move between 4 and 5 stars
i have mixed feelings about this game. i sometimes get unique stories from how rounds play out, but sometimes you walk halfway across the map just for you and your partner to get 1shot and you're back to the lobby, and it's going to be another 20 minutes before you get a chance to fight someone again (managing loadout, match load, clue hunt, finally fight)
i think it's more upsetting to fail when there's such a long gap between tries.
i do like that the time-to-kill without headshots is lower than most fps games
playing teams versus playing solo is also pretty different...
if you play in teams and you want to be careful and quiet, it can be really hard to support a teammate that wants to be aggressive. but if you don't get to play to your strengths, you may just die for nothing
and sometimes when you play teams, you or your teammate dies somewhere unsafe, and they are basically now watching you stream for 10 minutes until you get them up, unless you die before that.
but if you play solo, it's very hard to deal with the numbers advantage; you either aim very well, or you have to have extremely good movement. and if you play solo with little risk, that sometimes means taking a side building and holding it, which basically just means pissing off attacking teams so you have a better chance at survival
if you play with little to no risk, it's a walking simulator and a patience simulator
if you play riskily, it's like apex but slow
i come back every month or so for a few rounds with friends, and i've played it more than any game, but i just don't know how to feel about it. i wish i knew what to play instead of hunt when a friend or i want to play hunt
