AW2 has some of the worst lip syncing in any game I've played. I don't know if it's a bug or just bad quality recordings but even in the live action videos it feels like voices aren't actually coming out of people's mouths. It's like they're getting dubbed over.

What? The lip sync is great. The only parts it might be awkward is the live action parts and that's because the actors and the voice actors aren't the same. It's dubbed. The in-game lip synching is awesome.
This is the most egregious offense thus far. She barely says shit all game and the stuff she does say is in no way performed in a way that would blow anyone's mind. The guy playing Alan definitely deserved it 1000x over compared to her.
Her performance was the worst of every other character in the game except Ashmore/Tim Breaker.

Death Stranding is the first Kojima game in over 30 years to have less cutscenes than gameplay, and MGSV was the first time a Kojima game had more gameplay depth than an 8-bit game from the late 80's. Everything he's made is just an excuse to peddle his shitty stories to an audience with lower expectations than people who watch movies or read books. That's why when Metal Gear finally arrived onto a platform supporting 3-dimensional graphics, none of the gameplay evolved from the MSX days. Just the visuals, because he had to have his movie. The only reason you could play Metal Gear Solid at all was so that it would technically count as a videogame.

anon i know the point you're trying to make is that MGS 1, 2, 4, and PW all have very arcadey "stealth" gameplay but MGS3 is legitimately complex on anything higher than normal difficulty, mostly because your suppressors die so quickly

The game simply isn't that deep, but not many games really are, just use "depth" instead of "complexity" because the world feels like some cheap word people use to give games they like a preferential label rather than the label actually applying, and its also based on a lot of stupid surface level preconceptions. I just think the word can't be reasonably applied to videogames, especially because people constantly mistake breadth for complexity. Aka they thing having more = more complex, but because they don't understand the nuances of language, they don't understand convoluted could just as easily apply. But the reason I prefer depth, is because it can necessarily be contrasted with breadth, to reveal that little nuance, but with complexity, not so much. Shallow is the opposite of complex, but shallow doesn't communicate that little nuance of easily being mistaken for complexity as breadth does.
Point is. Something can simply be good. MGS3 is the only metal gear game I have ever liked. So I think it's gameplay Is good. But every other Kojima game might aswell be a movie game to me. I actually think Alan Wake's combat has a lot of depth with the amount of different resources you have to manage within a fight due to how movement and everything is designed. Healing takes a long time, Reload times take a long time, You move slower and dodge worse on low health, making healing more meaningful, you can semi stun enemies with your flashlight even when their darkness shield is off, you can stun with head shots, shoot their legs, you can even stun with melee attacks. The problem isn't the actual combat. Its that enemies rarely take advantage of all the subtle aspects of combat because enemies mostly fucking suck. IF THEY DID, people would realize that Alan Wake 2's combat actually has FAR MORE depth than even Resident Evil remakes. Except for MAYBE 4 (but even then I think it's close.)

I don't understand how so many retards get filtered so hard by the story of this game. I'm starting to think it's this weird desire I've seen around Ganker to "one up" the story and call it a shallow Lynch ripoff, or predictable, so they think predicting it will proof it's diminished value.
But, it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to conclude that anyone can create anyone or anything to the degree of a new human being, or the dark presence from the first game especially. There are cheap arguments you have based on the second game, but the first game doesn't explain or allude to enough to even suggest that.

Also this weekend I went to a small Bright Falls-y town and I saw like 5 black people, hella beaners and some random jeets and asiatics there and I thought, hey, they do exist in small towns, after all.
