Why even include "1080p" as an option when all it does is make the massive 426x240 pixels sharper

Youtube doesn't give enough bitrate for a native 240p video, you have to upscale it for it to be watchable.

720p? What do you need 480p for? 360p ought to be enough for everyone.

Why do you need quality? 240p is enough.

Youtube didn't upscale the video, the uploader did before giving it to youtube

No, I literally had that video open yesterday and the quality was as you'd expect. It only changed today. Youtube must be testing this paid model on random videos.

wrong, millenials had 2048x1536 in the 90s. zoomers think 1080p is an acceptable resolution for a desktop monitor 25 years later

yes, I had a computer in the 90s, when I was a teenager. If you wanna be pedantic you can argue maybe I didnt have 2048x1536 until, say, 2003. so 20 years ago

          >millenials had 2048x1536 in the 90s
You could barely display desktop on that resolution and most gpus at the time wouldn't even have the memory to do so. In reality if you were playing at 640x480 in 90s you were probably doing pretty good, 1024x768 and above was like 4k of today.

      DLSS Resolution vs Actual Resolution
You don't need resolution ratios or pixel counts, they're useless noise

How did 90's survive? Look at the pixelation on that van. It can't be safe to drive like that.
