>we often took games from pros on ladder
>one day the idea of trying to go pro comes up
>we all ask our parents if they are okay with us trying it for 1 year

You have more freedom than they do. They can say one wrong word to and they end up losing everything like Nickmercs

Bullshit. They make far more than I do, get to sleep in every day and travel the world for free, while having fun. I work a fucking 9 to 5, with 1 hour of commute, my life is basically nothing but work.

Yeah playing a game that can go under any night, can be cancelled and removed from tourney from even the slightest unsportsmanlike conduct, and generally be stuck playing a single game.

Also nothing is stopping you from doing a YouTube channel, building up a rep and retrying. And you can always do a career change.

that's what they tell you, but in reality it's hugely overblown. They just enjoy making you jelly. They are bad friends, drop them they don't respect you

They might earn a lot but they end up losing a lot too. I think of what happened to Justin Roiland, Michael Jackson, or Kanye West. They can no longer do the things they love because of one mistake. Being a jester for a king carries a great risk.

Kinda burned by bridges with them because I was bitter and resentful when they started finding success.

Also nothing is stopping you from doing a YouTube channel, building up a rep and retrying. And you can always do a career change.

I think it's the other way around. They now already have proper savings and can chose to start to study or do whatever.

It is tough for them to start at the bottom. They will either go for an easy degree like many athletes or don't bother at all.

Anon your parents aren't going to feel bad about this and give you a time machine as an apology, you need to move on and decide what you're going to do with your life, not just regret how its turned out so far.

Go back into pro tourneyfagging. If that fails it least you have a safety net of """easily""" getting a job via your collage shitting. Look at hungrybox, he's a melee pro that has a degree in physics or some shit like that.
You've won the game of economic security, stop crying you fucking gays, do what you can and assess the situation using every tool at your disposal. Either that or have a nice day for all I care; 1 shitty thread maker less.

If you actually got it in you, what's stopping you from going neet and collecting welfare, while you grind 16 hours a day until you're at a pro level?

It's funny that privileged retards actually think there's a safety net in America
There's no welfare program supporting NEETs. We barely support the elderly and the disabled. At best he'd get 50bux a week in food stamps

This. at that point he should just go to a prison and turn himself in. The only downside is getting assblasted in the showers, but I bet a gay like him wouldn't have an issue with that.

Okay now compare that to the number of people who don't/didn't make it? Its the with Youtubing as a "career", compare those who made it with the ones that didn't. It hard seeing things in perspective when you're young and have no life experience.

    I had a similar experience
    >year 2013
    >had about 5k saved up
    >reading about bitcoin online
    >bitcoin at $50
    >go to dad, tell him I'm gonna invest
    >"no son thats a terrible idea"
    >shortly after he gambles the rent money (I was paying him a share of rent to live there)
    >asks to borrow a few thousand
    >never see that money again
    Parents can be terrible assholes.

Investing in bitcoin at that time WAS a bad idea, of course now you say that but regardless that's a terrible way of investing (just a bit better than gambling)

Parents who threaten to kick their kids out for not doing exactly what they want are enormous assholes, it's crazy how many people like this there are.

Like you don't give a fuck about letting your kid build himself the life he wants, you just force him into wagecuckery. What's worse is when they charge their own kids rent. But tbqh at least I can laugh about asshole parents charging their kids rent and how cucked it is, kicking your kids out is so fucked up I can't even laugh about it.

I'm talking about "sitting on your ass and playing videogames for a living" as a retarded thing that parents are right to be concerned about, not "kicking your son out of the house or forcing him to pay rent". Do I have to greentext and fill half the reply box with cited context to you? Because it looks like you're too much of an illiterate goo goo gaa gaa down syndrome baby to read in between the lines and know what I'm talking about.
