I just finished the demo; I'm having a lot of fun but I hardly see any threads here talking about it and when there is it's just shit-posting. Did anyone else have fun playing the demo? Did anybody get the game early yet?

No Lenneth, no interest, no buy.
I don't play any video game where I have to look at even one Black person
>Not appreciating that sweet dark chocolate
You can have dark chocolate without making the character a Black person
Well it's not really Valkyrie Profile but I do want to smell the mcs butt hole.
>sweet dark chocolate
Does not compute
same, but also with any other every piece of media
I can handle a black if it's
a.)Not African black
b.)Basically acts White (civilized)
c.)Not an ugly, afro'd, bulging eye Black person
Think Shiva from Resident Evil.
I can handle that.
It's surprising how many games can't even manage that
>Shiva from Resident Evil
>Not African black
Shiva is a exception. In fact.... 99.9% of africans are nowhere near as good looking as Shiva.
This. Capcom and SE games are easy skip. I don’t mind if they’re good looking and not forced for diversity points.
I enjoyed the demo and it made me decide to get it.
My money is going towards SO instead. I will pick this up when it is cheaper.
I have it wishlisted on steam so I get a reminder to pirate it.
xaxa
well done
can't play it cus
>no PC demo haha!
I liked the demo a lot, too. I'm interested to see how the skill trees expand over the course of the game and whether or not the blocking/parry system gets any more involved. As far as the demo is concerned, parrying felt less a primary tactic to tackle enemies and more of a secondary tool for if you end up getting mobbed by a lot of enemies. I also enjoyed the overall structure of the missions. It wasn't anything special, but it was meaty enough for me that I could see myself doing it a few times.
I played on Hard and the difficulty felt fine. I would've liked a harder difficulty, but I feel like that may not be a meaningful mode until you unlock all your abilities. Having said all of this, I would be surprised if it was a lengthy game. Already in the demo you can unlock 1/5th of your skill trees. While there may be more features that get unlocked as you progress through the game, I expect the demo will be a good representation of the final game, just bigger.
I was also a bit impressed with the boss designs. While they were easy, they showed tactics and strategy would help. I can see how they wouldn't necessarily be simple bullet sponges, but they're not elaborate experiences either. I think I would enjoy a boss rush mode where you get to fight bosses and try to defeat them with as much efficiency as possible.
Right now, I'm busy with DioField which I'm enjoying a lot, so I'll have to see about grabbing VE whenever I'm done with that. And I like to take my time with games unless they're very addicting.
I was thinking of getting diofield but I saw the reviews on steam were mixed. How is it?
I'm only about 1/3rd of the way through according to Playstation's In-Progress feature. I think if you enjoyed the demo, you'll like the game. The demo represents what I've played of the game well. Will you get $60 of enjoyment out of it? I think that's the question.
As far as game mechanics go, I'm pretty happy with it. Not a hard game, but still one with lots of options and choices. I find I spend a lot of my game in the game preparing my party members for battle. The systems in the game aren't exactly complex, but they're not simple either.
At the start of the game, your weapons have 3 skills assigned to them. One is a class skill anyone of the class will have whenever they're in battle and the other 2 change depending on which weapon you equip. Now, each of those 2 skills can be upgrade themselves via an upgrade system that enhances the skills with longer ranges, more damage, debuffs, buffs, etc. That requires a special currency. There is also a skill tree that unlocks new weapons you can purchase that have different combinations of those same skills. There's also an upgrade system for the "Summons" in the game. And since you can pair each of your 4 man team members up, you essentially bring in 8 party members, 2 skills per member or 4 in each pair along with your class skill. Along with your Summons and their skills, it's important not to have too much overlap in skills so that each tool brings in a useful skill into battle.
There's also a personal upgrade system per party member that makes each one unique. Pic related is said upgrade menu. The result is not just a class system where you have a Tank, Mounted Unit, Physical Ranged and Magic class, but a unique "build" for each character. And I'm missing a few other things, but I'm enjoying exploring the systems the game has.
As far as the story goes, we'll see how it pans out. And I'm also at max character for the post.

Yeah I tried it, had a bit of fun, but not enough to where I'll purchase the game as soon as it comes out. Probably will get it for cheap some time in the future. Might even play Lenneth first.
Not yet.
it looks too low quality to even consider for retail price
Been playing the early access digital release and I'm enjoying it.
My wife...
The only people who still buy physical are Switch owners and that's cause they don't have the storage for digital.
It's tinfoil hat tier, but I just don't feel like I own digital shit. I have digital games anyway, but I still prefer tangible. Even though they can easily do the same shit probably.
At some point not long after SSDs and I had the internet speed to download dozens of gigs of video games in less than an hour, digital started making a lot of sense to me. The pandemic didn't do my physical collection any favors either. But it also doesn't help that a lot of the games I play these days are service games. The one and done games are kind of rare and even if I do get them, there's usually DLC or online or something these days. I think the last physical game I got was RE Village for my PS5.
I buy physical for games they patch and completely change, like elden ring and bloodstained.
lol what? you can easily put in a 1TB sd card on the switch
Motherfricker, you'd have to buy a 1TB SD card for the Switch. How many Switch owners are gonna do that?
A lot, how many people do you think bought an ssd for the ps5?
Is it exactly like the demo? PS5 ver felt like trash but i dont want to wait till nov
#ads
Still debating. I would wait, but I also want the steelbook. I'll honestly be paying the same difference unless this goes on sale for $30 by November. I'm assuming it'll be on a small sale after PC release.
>i want the useless crap
dude wait for it to be $30 in like 3 months jeez.
how dare you, I bet you buy digital.
Is the steelbook only for Eurobros? There's no option for anything but standard here in the states.
Only at BestbuyTM.
Buy star ocean 6
After VE, I will impregnate my robot wife as well.
Why can’t the actual game look as good as the art?
why are all iphone posters so fricking moronic?
name 3 good arpgs
I had no idea your game even released. Hell, even Valkyrie barely got any media postings outside of two trailers released months ago. What's with devs these days silently releasing their titles that aren't AAA big budget releases?
For one thing that shit should've be on PS4 too. But I also didn't know it was out already. I'll get it on PC later.
Did they change her face at all? I remember hating it at first but now I think it's really cute for some reason
I don't think they did? Maybe it just looks better from the polishing between trailers and release?
What is this imposter's name anyway?
Maiwife.
Probably because you saw the awkward close up shot of her.
>I would be surprised if it was a lengthy game.
There are nine chapters with sidequests/backtracking, and then the final boss, so yeah, not very long. The Main Quest trophy tracker says I'm 33% done after Chapter 3 and my playtime is about 8 hours, so my final time will probably be around 24hrs, which is about what I've heard from others. I can see more replayability in beating it on multiple difficulties, like VP. Completing all quests/collectibles pads it out, too, which I'm doing as I go. Plus the free Hilde DLC comes November.
Valkyrie only, the Einherjar are summons that last 15-60 seconds depending on your settings
Does it evolve from being a boring Arpg?
"Boring ARPG" is subjective but it's gotten more fun to me as you upgrade weapons, which gets you more combos, and as you progress in the skill tree, which gets you skills like counterattack, parry, Soul Chain attacks, Soul Stealing, etc. Chaining Soul Chain aerials is fun and is peak VP to me. And the hordes get bigger and more dangerous starting in Chapter 2 that you can't just mindlessly mash or you'll get blindsided. It's definitely become more fun after Chapter 1.
lol I think Soulstice has gotten way more attention than VE has.
Nioh 2
Nioh 2
Nioh 2
Is it neccessary to play any of the earlier Valkyrie Profile games before this one? It seems like a standalone game but I know how those Japanese devs love to create stealth sequels or alternate timeline stories.
As far as we know this is completely disconnected.
If the game lets you play as a cute girl v/ will defend and shill for it even if the gameplay is rancid dogshit and the game formats your hard drive when you exit
generic crap game
My schizo wife Waltaquin.
At first, I thought she would just be tsun. Then she became a downright c**t. Now, at Ch. 3, she's a fricking necromancer psycho. I love it.
Waltaquin was the best part of the game for me. Seeing her just kill plebs, and having zero remorse about it was amazing.
Can you play as other characters in battle or can you only control the valkyrie?
Lol just play Star ocean
I mean yeah no shit bud I've played them all 10+ times each frick off I need new games
Dynasty warriors did it better
>hardly see any threads
We had a few but the game is unfortunately not that good. It's pretty damn ugly and it's a run of the mill boring ARPG where you mash XXXX or YYYY, and the demo did a poor job of showing spirits because you spent most of it without them. I can see it as an interesting purchase when it's 15 bucks or less.
Well now at least people recognizes me more in FFXIV.
Very Cute!!
The weird black border on characters looks really weird.
Don't care homosexual. Not playing any of square enixs copy pasted homogenized garbage
>Enter a thread about a game you have no interest in
>Get angry
You're the definition of low intelligence.
No PS5 yet.
>Just play the cucked poorgay version then?
No.
I just want a PC demo. But they don't even have system specs listed yet.
I'm waiting for Amazon to ship my copy, any anon that has played it dubbed is the dub as shit as in the trailers or it improves? Does it have "come forth my noble einherjar" or a kino line like that in english? Played the demo on jap and liked it, also how true is that theres only 4 einherjar in the game?
I tried it out. It has potential, but it looks so cheap. The artstyle is too bland, the main character has a weirdly proportioned head, and the animations are awful.
I'm also not very invested in the story.
Might get it when it's 15 bucks.
Just finished playing the demo. surprisingly good, too easy but there's some nice depth in the systems that the player can use. Like how Einherjar work as summons that has synergism with Divine Arts and regular weapons, but there's bit too much of a focus on binary weakness spam. Though the fact you can actually combo enemies without moronic hyper-armor spam everywhere puts it away above other ARPGs like Nier Automata/Trails of Mana/Tails of Arise. Definitely getting the game day one.
Also, the MC is 10/10.
>Panties
How did this get past SEs ethics department?
Only way I'm playing this is through GamePass. Feels like a Vita game from the demo
Rather buy star ocean. This game doesn't play like the older game.
Star Ocean legitimately looks awful with that male protagonist lmao. That is honestly the most whacked design I've seen for a while.
Yes, it plays like star ocean. The doll graphics is soul. This game you're shilling isn't a Valkyrie game
>Give an opinion on Star Ocean
>I'm apparently shilling Valkyrie Elysium
Honestly take whatever fricking meds you're on because that's just a huge jump in logic.
Cope
The fact the only videos of this garbage that get posted is the pantsu shit from 1 IQ coomers really tells you it's an into the trash it goes title straight on par with the VP gacha. Desperately trying to appeal to some sort of homogenized current generation fad rather than keep its own personality is what kills a franchise, and VP went full moron in that regard.
What are your issues with the game?
Horrible artwork and art direction in general in a series previously known for its beautiful art direction and setting design, stale and simplistic action gameplay with no uniqueness or thought put into it despite Valkyrie Profile being known for its unique hybrid turn based combat, vomit-inducing graphics that are way too outdated, lmao panties! in clear attempt to bait 2B coomer gayhattery, no fricking einherjar party members in a fricking Valkyrie Profile game.
>Horrible artwork and art direction in general
It looks fine.
>stale and simplistic action gameplay
Be specific. Explain how Divine Arts, a bunch amount of weapon combo attacks, defensive options, Einherjars, etc are supposedly "stale" and "simplistic".
>for its unique hybrid turn based combat,
It's not unique nor was high quality. Being TBC it's already worse than Action by default.
>vomit-inducing graphics that are way too outdated,
Again, it looks fine.
>no fricking einherjar party members
Except that's wrong.
>It doesn't.
>I am being perfectly specific. Calling standard action game options you find in any action game ever random fancy things is not being in-depth or out of the box, it's the standard. It's the exact same thing as everywhere else.
>It was unique and it was perfectly good quality. Your following opinion is incorrect and therefore so are you as a whole, as we have concluded by now.
>No, it doesn't.
>Except it isn't.
>It doesn't.
It does. Explain how it's bad. You better step up your vocabulary.
>I am being perfectly specific.
Where in your post does it mention anything about basic stuff like frames, hitstun, positioning, spacing, approaches, special hit properties, projectiles, an emphasis on avoiding damage, resource management, moveset swaps, canceling, etc? Because you seem to lack critical knowledge on Action games.
>Calling standard action game options
Yeah, it's called good game design. How explain why it's bad. I'll wait.
>It was unique
>VP invented combo party systems
You're too stupid to be worth talking to. I guess this is what I get for engaging with a TBClown.
>it was perfectly good quality
Like the dogshit difficult scaling?
Like the massively unbalanced roster?
Like the fact Casters don't really offer much variety and you're heavily gimping yourself if you not use the top tiers, unlike fighters which have more leeway and can still contribute through different way than firepower?
Like the terrible enemy variety in which every battle acts the same so there's barely any depth or variet at all, it's just "juggle" for crystal/spheres/drops and the PWS, every single battle is solved like that?
Like the boss-specific reactions which you have zero way of knowing about without coping amounts of busywork?
Like Seraphic Gate being garbage?
>No, it doesn't
It factually does. Being wrong isn't going to change reality.
>Except it isn't.
Yes it is.
yeha
have the same feeling
I just want more games in style of Lenneth
Why is she so angry?
I will pirate it when it comes out on PC in november.
square does not deserve my money
For me, it's star ocean
Played the demo, it's very average. Waiting for it to hit $20 before I buy it.
>this
>nu-god of war 2
I'm going to be sick of Norse and Viking shit by christmas.
No PC demo and it runs like shit on PS4. No one owns a PS5.
It runs fine though. Now it'll fricking EXPLODE if there's a fire boss or arena kek.
This. I was going to buy it on PS4 and replay it on PC but it's basically unplayable, not sure why they even bothered if the port is this shit.
Maybe on the Pro, on base PS4 it runs at like 25 fps idle and drops to sub 20 whenever there's combat going on, with constant stutters. Would've been fine if it was turn based but it completely ruins the experience for an action game.
>base PS4
ngl anon, base PS4 is basically not considered a PS4 anymore by developers nowadays.
I must still have bloodborne ptsd because it seemed like 30 while fighting shit.
Why does it look like a 720p switch game stretched to 4k?
Crack when
> denuvo malware
> 20 hour duration
Even 15$ would be too much.
pls backport to ps4 on release.
sankyuuuu
I really enjoyed the battle music, it elevates the valkyrie elegance
>playing square enix games unironically
God I despise weebs so much it's unreal
