Kinda. Global Agenda. It was more like TF2 than an MMO because there was no PvE at launch and it was all about queuing for matches with a free for all arena you could spend downtime in or wait for match in. Classes were Recon (kinda like a spy/sniper hybrid), Engineer (can even swap out blueprints to build different shit), Medic (healing and poison), and a Heavy. Especially in the early days of beta before they had generated out MMO-like gear progression so everyone was on equal footing with the default gear. That was the best time for Global Agenda. PVE was a mistake. Gear progression was a mistake. Giving it the MMO characteristics is what killed its appeal as a team shooter.

hirez is really good at coming up with good ideas then fumbling them royally. their games are like a pizza that's really good fresh out of the oven but quickly turns into disgusting slop as the grease soaks into the crust, the cheese coagulates, and the sauce bitters at room temperature. the only reason hirez still exists is because they capture players with the idea of a good game then a small percentage refuse to admit its a bad game and continue playing it for years

So true, I actually thought their Battle Royale was really good at first, you can pick one of the paladin characters. It was fun, different playstyles and ect.

In the realm of multiplayer class shooters, how in the frick does Valve keep winning despite doing nothing or making the game worse?

      Anonymous

Because modern multiplayer shooters have gone so deep into drinking the 'competitive' kool aid that they end up making 8 million micro changes for the sake of balance that progressively make the game more and more dogshit until it's unrecognizable. Overwatch is the perfect example of this. It was incredibly fun on launch but instead of making new characters and modes fun and interesting they make them to fill a role in the meta, and the meta is always to play the game in the most boring fricking was possible.

I don't mind comp being a thing, but I like it better when it naturally comes out of the fanbase and when the balance of comp actually does affect regular gameplay.
There are so many games that the comp scene might as well be its' own thing because what they do there is vastly different to the average jackoff doing in regular games. If the problems of comp did bleed over into casual, that'd be when balancing would be needed, otherwise just give comp match settings to fit their needs leaving the regular game alone.

its a kneejerk reaction to devs receiving harassment over things they don't control. devs already have to fight their superiors just to make a playable game, it's not fair for their community to villainize them as well.

We spent several generations telling kids to tell them to love themselves for who they are, to improve and better themselves and to not let words hurt them.
But now suddenly society slingshot into the opposite direction and unless you're getting botched surgeries and validating eachother into an endless circlejerk where truth is toxic and considered harassment and everyone needs to be someone they're not.
What the frick happened? Why is everyone so thin skinned, weak willed and whiny? We have companies who have fricking corporatized being a victim.

    >Opinions are my own and don't reflect employer's views
I love how these morons put things like this in their bio as if it somehow absolves them of their responsibility of being a representation of the company they work for, but then they post shit like the OP and think its totally fine to threaten making your product worse as some kind of vendetta against the people who were mean to you on the Internet.

I love it even more when they get blasted for their moronic behavior and set their account to private. Such cowards.
