you mean the first level? Cut off the diamond enemy right before it would reach you.
Break the glass pane on the right and replace it with a tile.
Talk to the rock and get your L U C K Y locusts
Go back to the left corridor, take a tile from the south part, and use it to release the diamond so it can chase you again.
Run in front of the chest and back around to the glass pane on the left. The diamond will have to go back because you cut off its rout by breaking the glass.
Grab the tile in front of you, cutting off the diamond's only remaining route. You are now free to put the tile you just grabbed in the hole you made in the corridor earlier, and get the gem
You meet the giant head yet? She gives you a tutorial of sorts.
But basically: Fall in a hole right in front of the statue. It will eat all your locusts, and teleport you ahead 1 floor for each locust.
If you had 0 locusts you die instead.
By the way, tree floors are exactly 28 levels apart.
eh, do it more than once and it becomes pretty obvious and it's convenient enough you'll want to do it more than once locust statue with infinite locusts is a bit hazier though, i dunno if there's a solid answer for that yet
The tree thing was kind of an accident, I found a trick to get exactly 27 locusts in the first tree room, then I used the locust statue that's exactly 1 floor after it. After that it was pretty easy to guess what was going on.
if you fall on the tile below the locust statue, you will skip down X floors, where X is the number of locust you were holding. It always takes all of them
I figured up when I went to 223 and have to start over now to get there. For people who are ahead of me should I prioritize doing that or just actually do a lillie run first
I did too but I was on my ng++ after getting the ending so I didn't care as much and I had saved the special brands, which were useable anyway with a fresh save
Problem was after getting to dev room and seeing my stats at the true true true true true secret true ending but it's ok I got my 2 extra lines of dialogue and a small cinematic when reseting so it was worth it.
Beat Mon on NG++ Annoying boss fight but awesome ending, I like the Link's Awakening nod. Time to unravel some mysteries now... I got all of Mon's info from trading locusts too, good progress.
After doing NG void, NG, NG+, NG++ and getting all items/upgraded rod/tips for locusts, I still don't know what the Picross are for, given the glowing number don't seem to fit a room unless I'm stupid.
Can I just get spoonfed a clear lead to this I've unlocked like 6 brands and did 4 endings and I still have no clue why everyone somehow posts about it I must be retarded
>that one's easy just- >no wings
damn son i feel like killing all the enemies is a trap

I think you can grab the tile, go put it over on the right of the tile above the chest. Then grab a glass tile and use it to grab the tile to the right of the chest and make a 1x3 bridge.
I know, but the point is that that line is the opening line of Dante with 'Satan' swapped out for 'Dis' i.e. an explicit reference. Anyways, I'm just really enjoying the game, that's all.
so i got to the bottom where it starts playing that safetly locker song, then i got a message about only a shallow memory remains. going down again from the top i find all the trees withered. im at b lvl 58, should i know what im meant to be doing? i still dont know what the ruined murals or the giant stone statue floors are for. did i miss something or do i just keep going?
There's a secret area associated with her. If you don't have the sword, and you show her the staff, she sends you on a quest to get the sword.

However, if you know where it is you can also just go there without the quest. If you want to do that it's
the rightmost pit in the level immediately after her

Very good. Very well designed puzzles imo and tons of secrets and absurd 4th wall shit that makes you question what the fuck you're playing. Also set in the same universe.

You have a global justice score that persists across runs based on anything bad/good you did. It's probably tied to the final secret, given you need a net positive justice score to even get light orbs to show up.
At first they just accursed me for quiting the game when I got tired which is total bullshit, of course I wasn't guilty. But then I started quitting on purpose and now I want to plead guilty and see what happens if I would have enough locust(preliminarily cheating locust for myself ofc)

The only thing that removes void is a Hispanicy staircase. It is possible to loop the early floors to get 99 locusts by swapping your HP and level counters over and over.
>can i generate infinite locusts by farming the first dozen or so floors?
well, yes, but it's far from the fastest way to farm locusts try fucking around with your UI more. If done properly
you'll get plenty of locusts and won't even have to replay any levels
What was the point of this post?
Shaming people for making threads about videogame discussion of a game that recently came out?
I will never get this mindset, even more so since the threads are all 90% gameplay discussion.
Lillie is NG+, yes.
Don't worry about missing things in NG. If anything, it's the intended experience, except for trees - missing some birch room would definitely leave gaps in the story..
Thanks.
I don't think that I missed any trees, I explored extensively and took quite a bit of notes and screenshots but there are things that I'm not sure to understand yet, like the picross in the weird rooms. Got the void, carcass and normal endings so far, I assume.
I'll keep going with Lily then.
Honestly I think it might just a running joke. Zeroranger has some similar censoring of color names that aren't green/orange, though being a shmup it's harder to notice.
Reached what I assume is the final part of the shmup with gray in the white background, died almost instantly when trying to go into the open space in her chest since there was nothing else on the screen that looked interesting and got the ending. Did I miss anything special in that last shmup section? It felt like the ending started very abruptly.
>wonder where I can put the credits brand since there isn't a corresponding circle >try the first brand room on a whim, it works >wait >try cif's brand in the first one, it works and sends me straight to 224 afterward
WHAT THE FUCK
can't believe I'm finding out about this shit like seven playthroughs in
I'm only on my first NG+ playthrough and I'm already getting fatigued on the puzzles, specifically the dotted tiles everywhere. Turns every puzzle into a matter of staring at the screen for three to five minutes until you figure out the intended path. The tile placement makes it intuitive enough but it gets dull when your hands aren't on the controller/keyboard most of the time because you're too busy looking and solving things in your head.
I fucking HATE that place.
You need to time it perfectly so the snake is above you when you walk past it.
I know it might seem scary there right now, but its gonna get a lot worse.
Hitting the wall a couple of times wasn't that hard, now the next floor with the bulls really fucks me
I fucking HATE that place.

I know it might seem scary there right now, but its gonna get a lot worse.
Just shuffle the statues around a bit until you're on the middle row with the golem and not either next to a statue or hovering over a pit. Then you can just push the no-rod statue onto the button and the rest is trivial.
Yeah I know the little fetuses are Cif, I even watched the lotus-eater/tree cutscene as her. I was just wondering if killing the big shadow changes something compared to killing the little Cif fetuses.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if you could even kill the big fucker at all. I never got that far into the fight myself before I figured out what to do, but I heard if you use up enough tiles she'll do an attack that respawns them.

She does. I discovered that because I hadn't figured out how to win yet and was still trying to beat the big one by efficiently picking up every other tile and hitting her with as many as possible all at once. Taking more than half of the tiles causes the respawn attack
Datamined game text.
https://files.catbox.moe/rkgfcr.txt
I really wonder if the game is seriously hiding the true nature of DIS and how the sisters were created behind the light orb riddle. Because this shit is just too vital to cut. Going full lore autist and speculating was fun, but apparently there are clear answers.
I don't think the game is holding anything else story wise unless it's seriously obfuscated and hidden in strings somewhere. The majority of the text is in the csv, and the two major parts that are missing have no references in the game code, they're "learning how to kill Mon" and "Erasure DIS ending" respectively. I think they're just unused because it's more interesting if there's no clear answer to what DIS is, and the idea of an additional ending where you stop Mon and thus stop Lev was a bit too convoluted.
Memories being used for time travel is super interesting and nicely explains the ending sequence though. Lev got the memory of her creation, traveled to the comet because that's where Add came from per the bedtime story. Then there's Cif being an artificial Manusya which is real neat since she's the most sympathetic demon by far. I dunno, I just feel that hiding things and making things ambiguous doesn't contribute much to the game since the answers are very cool.
Cif being an artificial manusya is in the game, it's the reward for a low justice score on a late floor from the last of the failures, and it can be inferred from the Cif fight dialogue anyway, as well as the Cif void egg ending. It's obvious the first memory is used for time travel if you just think about it a bit, because why else did Lev want it so much? Nothing of any note is revealed in unused lines, I'm sorry you went straight into datamining shit instead of figuring out stuff yourself first, and then moving onto datamining when met with the brick wall that is the light orb puzzle.
move the switch to the right side and also complete the right bridge
then go back, fly over the left bridge, have the mimic step on the switch and enter the stairs
Does anyone have the messages that show up when trying to use a Lord's brand as your own? I only took a screenshot of Bee (iirc) telling you to get your own.
I just finished this one. It's what prompted me to make this
I'm only on my first NG+ playthrough and I'm already getting fatigued on the puzzles, specifically the dotted tiles everywhere. post. If you're stuck, I can go back and make a webm.
Looks a lot more complicated than my solution. Think I also took an hour. It's such a precise puzzle.
this was the hardest puzzle in the game for me until someone told me that you're just supposed to bait the enemy on the button on the right, only use the statue as a cover so the enemy stays on the button and run the path on the left to the goal
I got rid of the statue and made sure I had access to all the solid tiles so I could be free to get around without a worry. That's been my game plan with most of the levels so far, getting all of the solid tiles together where possible so I have more options.
>I don't think I'll be able to replicate what I did.
That's honestly most of the rooms for me after NG. I beat them and got my endings, but fuck, I'm sure I'll be back to square one when I replay this game in the future.
I've beaten NG, NG+ and NG++ Cif has the sword even though I haven't unlocked it but still haven't managed to get the sword, did I miss checking one of the murals or is it somewhere else?
What am I actually supposed to do in a Cif run? I can't unvoid myself and the super rod is gone because I took it as Lillie so I can't get to Dis either. That leaves only the white area (wiping my save, lolno) or the void egg.
Speedrun mode where you get 20 minutes to see how far you can get. You gain points based on how many enemies you kill in a row without using your rod/dying, how far you make it, etc
Not him, but do we even know how to get the brand for that legit yet? Is it tied to 0stRANGER if maybe?
>accidentally took the lotus counter and fell which lead to the fruit cunt on ng+ 18?
Does voided/unvoided matter on ng+ ? I really don't want to do that all again.
can't believe no one's made a loss brand yet
no not the obvious one, you gotta use the in-game language
You are OP.
You are a gay.
OC
>used wings and sword
you did not beat the game.
Is it even possible to beat *** without them?
No, you need to put all three in front of the chests to even enter
you need a minimum of the wings and sword to even make the brand. I don't know how it checks for the cube, I guess that room is the cube check.
Do I actually get anything for rawdogging the game without items? Not interested in bragging rights
No, you get nothing.
I don't see how you can beat the first aslillie, while talking to the rock and without using other items, what am I missing
don't talk to the rock?
But I want to 🙁
he'll still be there when you come back, with a sword
I just don't want to have to redo it specifically looking to get my bits and pieces of lore
you mean the first level?
Cut off the diamond enemy right before it would reach you.
Break the glass pane on the right and replace it with a tile.
Talk to the rock and get your L U C K Y locusts
Go back to the left corridor, take a tile from the south part, and use it to release the diamond so it can chase you again.

Oh of course, I was trying to think it in my head and I always somehow ignored that I was carrying a tile and it'd be good to place it down

Okay I feel dumb, how do I use the locusts statues and what to they do
You meet the giant head yet? She gives you a tutorial of sorts.

>By the way, tree floors are exactly 28 levels apart.
You are like little baby. Wait until you realise All the secrets are on prime number rooms.
Is there a secret on B002?
Add's staff. It's not really much of a secret because both characters start with the amulet that opens it, though.
Lillie doesn't start with the amulet.
It's in the envelope she tossed in the trashcan.
Cif also doesn't have a problem with opening the chest, and definitely doesn't have the amulet.
>All the secrets are on prime number rooms.
wait does that mean every secret will be on a prime floor? or there's a secret on every prime floor?
how do you people NOTICE this stuff
gor literally spells it out for you
if you're broke enough to have no locusts she even gives you one
no im talking about the numbers stuff
eh, do it more than once and it becomes pretty obvious and it's convenient enough you'll want to do it more than once
locust statue with infinite locusts is a bit hazier though, i dunno if there's a solid answer for that yet

I'd recommend lillie run first, you are probably intended to do that first anyway
Much appreciated

bonk 6 times and wait
however you should not agree to something you will REALLY regret
She can fully reset your game, all special brands and everything. Besides that, dunno, hitting her spills orbs from her head.[//spoiler]
Beat Mon on NG++
Annoying boss fight but awesome ending, I like the Link's Awakening nod. Time to unravel some mysteries now... I got all of Mon's info from trading locusts too, good progress.
After doing NG void, NG, NG+, NG++ and getting all items/upgraded rod/tips for locusts, I still don't know what the Picross are for, given the glowing number don't seem to fit a room unless I'm stupid.
does scrawny man ever fill up?
If you give him 30 locusts. Something happens. It's not worth doing.
not as long as you keep feeding him
If you give him 25 locusts and walk away for a bit...
His purpose is to increase your justice.
will i eventually GUN MORPHING if i JUSTICE hard enough?
Bros what's the puzzle solution for this one

Any of you nerds catalog every single floor with a screenshot? I need an overview.
I'm curious if you can input an empty brand at the start and if it would affect the voided run.
you can't
what if you fill up the whole square for your brand? you'd have no place to fall
You can always dig a hole and fall in.
Wait, fall where? When does your brand come into play since I think it only shows up when you void
You can enter any brand in any brand room, as long as you're able to actually make it.
This includes your own.
Also, you can see your brand in the pause menu.
wouldn't that ruin the brand, though? assuming it's full
might be a special case? there was a bugfix about it in the changelog
I'M GOING INSANE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
you need to shove Cif in the first statue's niche
stagger
push middle statue off
insert yourself forcefully into the hole
waggle your man around to completion

I think you can grab the tile, go put it over on the right of the tile above the chest. Then grab a glass tile and use it to grab the tile to the right of the chest and make a 1x3 bridge.
Oh, I completed this.
You don't need to kill every enemy.
Is there a way to help her? I figured moving the exit near her might help.
still stuck on this puzzle but I'll figure it out eventually
Just don't get hit.
sorry, I'm still not quite understanding the concept, probably need another 5 or 6 hours
I can certainly see the Dante's Inferno influence in this game, come to think of it, but this...thing? just clinched the deal.
Each void lord guards a circle of DIS, and each circle is associated with a sin. The NPCs you meet are in their own corresponding circle.
I know, but the point is that that line is the opening line of Dante with 'Satan' swapped out for 'Dis' i.e. an explicit reference. Anyways, I'm just really enjoying the game, that's all.

The trees wither after seeing the memory in them. Anyways, your current objective is to reach the bottom without being voided.
jesus i dont know if i can do all those floors again under that condition
What to do with the yukkuri? my only option is to sword her

Hispanicy stairs will unvoid you, and aren't hard to assemble if you were paying attention at the end of your voided run.

By completing the game and punching it into the brand screen before starting the game.
In other words, have a nice day and refuse the fruit.
What's the point of breaking seals? I didn't do it in my first run and I'm doing NG now.
There is something that is sealed far above and out of your reach under normal conditions.
One of the brand rooms has a hint. You probably don't need to worry about it just yet.
Adding you to the filters, congrats.

so, playable Lily is the NG+ right?

It's been a fun ride, played the shit out of this game with a friend this weekend, but now that it's over I feel oddly sentimental
Can you hear me now?
I can hear you.
This haunts me
Is there anything I can do here or does the dev room just inevitably staircase me?
It's possible to escape by picking up the staircase. Doesn't take you anywhere that interesting, though.
There's slightly more to do, but at least take the Hispanicy stairs and get your ending so that you can unlock the brand first.
Alright then, will just staircase and come back here after NG++.
There is something you can do but it'll break a trigger for the 0stRanger brand permanently.
how did you get that staff with lillie? wtf am I missing
Cif's brand
Same way as usual? Kill those two, Hispanicy staircase, keep locust counter at 00 and then switcharoo in the pine tree room.
>Locust warp
wtf when does the game teach you this or does everyone discover it by chance?
Gor gives you the step by step instruction manual if you reach her without the sword.
If you don't have sword when you meet big head
I accidentally discovered it by chance, didn't understand what just happened and then talked with Gor and understood it
You learn it if you don't have the sword yet.
How do I reach it? Spoiler for the empty brand
Pause the game and go get a snack or some tea or something.
Check your memories.
If you walk off a ledge you can quickly walk back to save yourself
Took me far too long to realize. So many wasted locusts
Me too. Feel like an idiot for not realizing you could do that.
Why are the names of the other colour palettes censored?
Because you've only unlocked 1/4th of them.
Please elaborate.
no
Alright. Keep your secrets then.
Honestly I think it might just a running joke. Zeroranger has some similar censoring of color names that aren't green/orange, though being a shmup it's harder to notice.
We are forbidden to speak of colors. That's why when Mon says greenhorn it's censored to *****horn
But then what is the nun saying? And why is Gray uncensored?
Are any of the murals different in NG+ if I already branded all the items in?
Is it ever explained why doppelgangers seem to be a bit younger then who you are?
All the demons are hotter in their true forms
I would FUCK _Mon

There's a small extra area and short memory if you press Z once the hearts are aligned. Hope you backed up your save.
I did, thanks.
How do I travel backwards at the locust guys?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohy_3_E4KRM
I thought it's possible for some reason, B001 it is then
>wonder where I can put the credits brand since there isn't a corresponding circle
>try the first brand room on a whim, it works
>wait
>try cif's brand in the first one, it works and sends me straight to 224 afterward
WHAT THE FUCK
can't believe I'm finding out about this shit like seven playthroughs in
Yup, cif's brand is "go straight to end"
What's this game about?
It just loos like a gbc game
Is it good?
it's a sokobanlike with la-mulana puzzles and secrets
>What's this game about?
Puzzles and secrets, plus suffering.
>It just loos like a gbc game
Cave Noire, to be exact.
>Is it good?
Yes.
For me its the button ones. Fuck having to put shit on buttons that's the most agitating shit imaginable
Looks like I've stumbled into some shit on accident, banging music but how do I avoid the statue zapping me?
>spoiler
having two snakes is a good start
I just wasn't sure how it works
Hitting the wall a couple of times wasn't that hard, now the next floor with the bulls really fucks me
I fucking HATE that place.
You need to time it perfectly so the snake is above you when you walk past it.
I know it might seem scary there right now, but its gonna get a lot worse.
Remember that you move before snakes and plan accordingly.
Always remember that you always move first and everything else follows after even though it doesn't look like it.
Is there some kind of "okay I've had enough jus take me to the next floor" cheat or something.
the items
or asking us for the answer
I've had enough, please help.
Just shuffle the statues around a bit until you're on the middle row with the golem and not either next to a statue or hovering over a pit. Then you can just push the no-rod statue onto the button and the rest is trivial.
>secure mimic
>push statue out
>kill hand
>go back in
>have mimic push statue in
>kill mimic
Yes
Where the fuck do I find Cif's brand?
In his domain, don't worry you can't miss it.
Tell me the exact floor, i've missed it twice now. Is it void only or somethng?
Pay close attention to your brane counter as you traverse Cif's floors.
I literally took a screenshot of every floor and kept trying to find the answer. I never realized the counter holy shit.
B223.
Hehe. Wait until he realizes.
It's already entered on its floor. You just need to pick up the stairs. :^)
Is there a way to cheese Cif's boss fight? I heard some anon managed to kill one of the two fetus early
Beating her adds makes the fight a lot easier. Be sure to alternate between them, since they can revive if you leave one of them alive.
Uh, I just killed one of the adds with my sword and Cif is instantly defeated. Will I miss something if I continue?
No.
That add WAS Cif. The mystery bro was just an illusion.
You miss some dialogue and a
_______________.
If you ever talked to a mimic while playing as Cif you'd understand.
I never got that far into the fight myself before I figured out what to do, but I heard if you use up enough tiles she'll do an attack that respawns them.
would be surprised if you could*
wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't*
She does. I discovered that because I hadn't figured out how to win yet and was still trying to beat the big one by efficiently picking up every other tile and hitting her with as many as possible all at once. Taking more than half of the tiles causes the respawn attack
As I said, you get some extra dialogue and a cute _________
He only has like 28 hp + a survival attack.
Please fuck off. Dataminers not welcome.
Now this is some bullshit
I liked these puzzles the most they're hard but fair.
AHHHHHHHHHH FUUUUUCK
I'm scared, I don't want to redo everything again. What do I do to beat that?
Doesn't matter. It's a gimmick fight.
I don't thing I'd be able to beat NG+ without my items holy shit
help please
B152 strikes again.
move the switch to the right side and also complete the right bridge
then go back, fly over the left bridge, have the mimic step on the switch and enter the stairs
I hadn't though of using the button in the bridge, thakns
Did you forget that you can move the button?
Does anyone have the messages that show up when trying to use a Lord's brand as your own? I only took a screenshot of Bee (iirc) telling you to get your own.
Is it me or this one is REALY hard compared to the previous ones?
This is the one I gave up on to just grabbed my items.
I just finished this one. It's what prompted me to make this
post. If you're stuck, I can go back and make a webm.
I just cleared it. Can't believe it took me a hour. I don't think I'll be able to replicate what I did.
Looks a lot more complicated than my solution. Think I also took an hour. It's such a precise puzzle.
this was the hardest puzzle in the game for me
until someone told me that you're just supposed to bait the enemy on the button on the right, only use the statue as a cover so the enemy stays on the button and run the path on the left to the goal
Congrats, there's only like 1 or 2 equally bullshit floors after this.
I've beaten NG, NG+ and NG++ Cif has the sword even though I haven't unlocked it but still haven't managed to get the sword, did I miss checking one of the murals or is it somewhere else?
It's a simple mural without any trick to it, you must've skipped over it because it's the same as the cube/wing.
yes you definitely missed the mural, maybe you skipped its floor because it's a regular one
floor is B113 and you can solve it in B137
Oh god I'm retarded.
want to talk about the game and partake in the threads
still super early in the game
>super early game
Stay out of these threads for now. It's far to easy to get spoiled even with all the spoiler tag usage.
Get at least 2 or 3 endings before coming back here.
Best thing to do is just play. There's a lot to learn, and you can't get anything "wrong" like in other cryptic games.
See you in 60 hours.
What am I actually supposed to do in a Cif run? I can't unvoid myself and the super rod is gone because I took it as Lillie so I can't get to Dis either. That leaves only the white area (wiping my save, lolno) or the void egg.
You gotta do the Mammon/7th circle run
Pay more attention.
Oh no. You're telling me I have to go through that laser hellpit again. I don't wanna...
I would love to do a minimal moves run but knowing there's no secret behind it kills my motivation.
Time to get S rank in CC instead
what is CC? Cif's challenge? what is it exactly?
Speedrun mode where you get 20 minutes to see how far you can get. You gain points based on how many enemies you kill in a row without using your rod/dying, how far you make it, etc
I think IF only unlocks the music mode.
what the FUCK that sounds neat, how do we unlock it legit?
No one knows
You need to solve the riddle
Not him, but do we even know how to get the brand for that legit yet? Is it tied to 0stRANGER if maybe?
B158 NG+ Bros wtf am I supposed to do im getting cucked here i swear
the golem doesn't need to live for the buttons to stay pressed down, y'know.
god bless this is what I get for playing this on 4 hours sleep
>accidentally took the lotus counter and fell which lead to the fruit cunt on ng+ 18?
Does voided/unvoided matter on ng+ ? I really don't want to do that all again.
Doesn't matter.
I don't think you miss anything.
Bros do I miss out on anything other then the small story text in the picture puzzle segment?
I fucked up and went up the stairs.
