I have an Oculus Rift S, but all the others suck too. FOV too small, blurry, screen door effect, the cable is annoying, burns your eyeballs out.
There are no games, they're all just garbage minigames.
You can't even move around properly because moron programmers cannot design some useful, semi-complex movement controls.
This has been out for 6 years now. There's definitely no building or MMO games like The Matrix "Construct" type shit. There's just nothing. Just VRChat and a few other garbage things like that. I wanted something like Garry's Mod VR x10,000,000 where I can do 3D modelling and mapping from within the program. The point is that with the hands, controllers, etc. you should have 100% perfect freedom of movement and be able to place whatever you want. Instead they just made crappy minigames.
I'm trying out BoneWorks. Any other suggestions?

Honestly if you've had VR since Half-Life: Alyx you've probably played every relevant game that has come out for the platform.
what are the relevant games out for VR right now? I played Alyx at a relative house and it was amazing, but couldn't justify the price because of the lack of games.
You could try Lone Echo
gross
She looks better in the game, the fov/3d VR shit is different.
You can grope her as she pushes you away.
they made her more manly for the sequel. First game is great though, space movement is awesome
>I wanted something like Garry's Mod VR x10,000,000 where I can do 3D modelling and mapping from within the program
It's still faster and more effective to use a cintiq, modeling with a headache inducing headset sucks. There aren't many good VR games because people still have toasters for PCs. So devs aren't inclined to make them.
Try the porn
Just learn lucid dreaming. I have games and adventure every night in my own thought construct. Like, i create what my subconscious mind wants to experience at that moment. You can create whole worlds, characters, story, have sex, fly. VR will never beat entering a dreamworld every night, you can even create worlds and revisit places.

I can't dream. I have some other aspects of creativity or recombination of reality but my mind is pretty weird. Can't focus, either. Would be nice to learn, though.
>I can't dream
Stop smoking weed, moronic pothead
The index has been amazing for me
Lone Echo. No one talks about it anymore but it is probably the best game in VR.
> oculus exclusive
It isn't the best (especially not the sequel), but it's still one of the more interesting short-narrative-driven games released in the last few years. I'm still expecting R@D to pull some wizardry and port it to Quest 2 at some point so Oculus can actually make their money back on it. The engine was already ported for Echo VR, so it'd just be a matter of redoing the assets to fit the mobile hardware/ram.
Just a shame all the shit I want to play lately are Quest-exclusive, which'll soon turn to being PSVR2-exclusive.
Makes sense the quest will dominate vr. Any pajeet in a dirt shack can play it as long as they have access to a power outlet and a hotspot.
Here's to hoping the $100 price raise means there's actually room for proper competitors in that same space. HTC and China have their own last I checked, but they were more media focused than games, and still cost more.
>i have israeli spyware

OP is a moronic goyim that got scammed and moronic goy opinions
>OP is a moronic goyim that got scammed and moronic goy opinions
You're a mental moron. All modern operating systems (and hardware! and communication networks) are israeli spyware, and all of you have them.
My eyes hurt.
My pihole shows about 40 percent of all my home networks queries coming from oculus lol
Not my problem, all that shits blocked from my network, thanks for the free Quest 2 headset zuck
the fact that we are still unable to use VR with no headset baffles me the most.
I don't want the fricking screen attached to my eyeballs like i'm some fricking good goy, i want to look at that from the distance i already have from my face to my perfectly good monitor
no motion sickness
no getting your retina burned
no bullshit
You can do that, you basically have to just emulate the game the same way the headset screen does on your monitor, then cross your eyes so the images fuse together.
>the fact that we are still unable to use VR with no headset baffles me the most.
>I don't want the fricking screen attached to my eyeballs like i'm some fricking good goy, i want to look at that from the distance i already have from my face to my perfectly good monitor
Strongly, strongly agreed. The main thing is the fricking gloves, and being able to do whatever you want. The whole headset thing is just a gimmick.
Playing a VR game without the whole gimmick of VR kinda defeats the purpose though, doesn't it?
the headset is a step in the wrong direction.
I don't want to "be inside the game" and wear a headset, it's awful, it's clumsy, adjusting height is dumb, not being able TO SEE MY HANDS AND WHAT'S IN FRONT OF ME is the dumbest thing ever.
The VR headset is a gimmick pushed by dumb people with no vision.
You're moronic.
The thing you're looking for is the wii.
imagine any vr game. But the screen is projected in your monitor like a normal fps game. And you get to use the perfect aiming of vr controllers, and you get to interact with objects, and you get to swing your hands, move things and do everything you can in vr, but you are not limited to having the headset. All i'm saying, it's simple, no headset. You still get to look around, maybe using a different accesory that lets you tilt your head and it uses acceleration like a mouse so you can turn around in the game just using small gestures
so you're saying you like everything vr does and want that, but you don't really like wearing the silly hat
That's still just the Wii. You had plenty of FPSs on there that aimed with the Wiimote or that used motion control gimmicks like swinging a golf club.
It's the Wii. You want a Wii.
How would you design a non headset VR thingy? Because what you're asking is holograms.
the headset is fine, they just need to figure out how to make it feel less like you're wearing a set of binoculars strapped to your face. Wider fov, better methods of rendering to reduce eye strain, less weight. The whole point of VR is that you're inside of it. it isn't virtual reality if you're clearly standing in your room playing a game. its virtual reality when your senses are tricked into believing what's going on is realistic.
Plus, you've got proprioception and the controllers are always shown as some kind of hands. Be nice if it was some kind of force feedback gloves with stereotyped motions for inputs, but complaining that you can't see reality when you're using a device explicitly designed to supplant reality with a virtual alternate means you don't even understand the concept.
He wants motion controls, which makes sense, most VR games would be better without the headset and just motion controls
Honestly, I'm kind of surprised Valve hasn't tried just like "Steam Locomotion" and just let people design games without a VR headset.
They have all the underlying tech for it.
My dream is to make a lightgun that uses SteamVR tracking and people can just use these with their huge TVs or monitors for all the classic lightgun games. Don't give me that shit about the sinden, it's garbage camera based tracking that's laggy and not as reliable. Lighthouse shit is sub millisecond accurate and has effectively 8ms input lag at the worst, 4ms at the best. Plenty perfect latency for lightgun combat.
>Have a VR headset
>On linux
>Locked out of Minecraft VR because microsoft stole my copy of minecraft and refuses to give me a token for my account
>VRchat's fricked because of easy anti cheat
>Garry is dickhead and Garrysmod linux is broken because he's autistic
>Valve is partially tardwrangling garry for S&box, but there's no guarantee that VR will work properly in it, or if proton will either
This bites
Thanks for alpha testing the tech for me. ROFLMAO
>Thanks for alpha testing the tech for me. ROFLMAO
No problem! Actually I borrowed it from a friend, I wouldn't pay for this bullshit. So he saved us both the cash.
The worst part is the tiny FOV. It's exactly like looking into a teacup. There's actually a headset called the Pimax 8k which has an extremely wide FOV. But hey, the headset doesn't matter if the software titles still suck anyway!!
VIRTAMATE
This game made me learn Unreal so I can make my own VR porn.
Playing this in VR sounds like it would be kinda gay.
You already could a long time ago with the VR demo by yourself and watch the girls get fricked by monsters or turn the monsters invisible and frick the girls yourself.
are there actually any good porn vr games? i just want a game with good hand interactions
Virt-a-mate if ur computer can run it
I wish people would stop spreading this lie.
There are no good porn VR games. The only good one for interactive waifu mechanics is Viva Project, and it doesn't have nudity last I checked. Everything where you can look at breasts and wieners and asses doesn't let you DO anything with them.
I boot up models in Blender and use the VR mode, close enough.
Have you tried VaM? VR is amazing and you can somewhat interact with the models. I believe some plug ins also allow the models to behave appropriately when interacted with.
UWOOOOOOOOHHHH YOU CAN PUT THE CURSOR IN HER PUSSY AND THE PUSSY KINDA MORPHS AROUND IT
Virtamate is a character creation screen that you jerk off to. Its main interface is about five hundred drop-down menus and sliders and you spend three hours creating the ideal woman and then realize you can't do anything with her and also your dick has been soft for 2 hours and 56 minutes. Asking me to install plugins and shit just to get the model to fricking do anything means I may as well waste my time and blueball myself installing porn mods on Skyrim VR because at least that game has interaction by default and my player model has fricking hands instead of orbs.
I want to jerk off, I don't want to learn how to program. I want a dating sim with Boneworks-tier physical interaction already in the fricking game, and when you date good enough, you can also frick her and bat her breasts around and shit. MINIMUM. No, that one japanese game where you're locked into certain perspectives is not the answer to my quest.
> I want a dating sim with Boneworks-tier physical interaction already in the fricking game, and when you date good enough, you can also frick her and bat her breasts around and shit.
skyrim vr with mods is unironically the best right now when it comes to stuff like that and it’s kind of patchetic because it’s not even as good as it should be
You know you can change your hands to actual hands and interact with the models with your fingers right? Also there's enough animations/scenes that you can just load and go with your model of your choice that it keeps it fresh. You're just jerking off not marrying them (I hope). What else do you need besides a dick sucking and a bending over animation?
>i just want a game with good hand interactions
HEAT and IntiMate VR are the only ones with real interactions, but they're both primarily-gay furry games.
Games like Koikatsu let you play with breasts and put your fingers in.
Most are animation viewers because VR is added in after the fact. If you're okay with that, the best ones are probably
>Koikatsu
>Custom Maid 3D 2
>Insult Order
>Wild Life
>Yiffalicious
>Fallen Doll
>Project Lovecraft
and then a handful of smaller projects like the aforementioned.
What kind of interaction do you even want, though?
>I have literally the shittiest consumer VR device besides the playstation one
>VR SUCKS!!!
Using Bigscreen to watch movies in VR is comfy
Unironically think you guys are too optimistic or moronic with your expectation on technology. Scientists can barely figure out how to grow back eye cells or teeth to fix vision and regrow back teeth. MUH FULL DIVE VR IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER is a fricking stupid view when we don't even know how most of the brain works.
>There are no games
why would there be games for a simulation device? when will dumb cattle Black folk of Ganker understand that vr is not video games
Green hell is a really fun experience in VR. I had never played the flat version and it has some performance issues but it feels good wrapping your wounds and tossing spears like a caveman at boars
You're asking too much. We can't even get good normal games. It's like those dumb fricks that always ask why devs don't make their own engines when they can't even make a good game first.
The nine works sequel is supposed to come out this year and then I’ll probably retire my headset. Vr was a silly gimmick
i picked up a Quest 2 for cheaper than a series S, RE4VR was hella fun, outside of the completely fricked handling of ashley (her AI is worse because they make her follow farther behind and is much more sensitive to having guns pointed at her) and removal of certain dialogue/cutscenes
being able to hook it up to my PC with a USB-C makes it possible to play all steam VR titles, although the handling of the quests' controller vary in usability, like throwing items in superhot feels way wackier compared to grenades in RE4VR
haven't played phasmaphobia yet (which is automatically able to be played in VR without paying extra, frick you skyrim) but i look forward to shitting myself when i do
>There are no games, they're all just garbage minigames.
Bullshit. There is a lot of crap but there are plenty of gems. I'll list some of my favorites
>Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners
>Project Wingman (with proper HOTAS & pedals this is a 10/10 experience)
>Half Life: Alyx
>Blade & Sorcery
>Thrill of the Fight
>Windlands 1 & 2
>Jet Island
>Surv1v3
>Cosmodread
>Beat Saber
>Pistol Whip
>H3VR
>Contractors
>Everspace
>The Forest
>I Expect You To Die 1 & 2
>Lone Echo 1
>Pavlov
>Onward
>Sairento
>Space Pirate Trainer
>Star Wars: Squadrons
>Subnautica
>Superhot VR
>Superhypercube
>Vox Machinae
>Stormland
I've had VR since 2016, starting with HTC Vive, then the Rift S and currently Quest 2. Never played a second of VRChat. Boneworks sucks. Biggest disappointment I've ever been served from a VR game. Frick you
Not OP but almost all of those are tech demo indie games that have a couple of hours of content tops.
Something like Elden Ring alone gives me more hours of gameplay than everything on that list combined, and that's without even getting into the quality.
The issue isn't that those titles are bad, it's that for the price of an Index you could have bought every single modern console and gotten infinite more content out of it.
resident evil 4 vr is really fleshed out (then again it is a port)
>almost all of those are tech demo indie games that have a couple of hours of content tops
Doesn't matter to me if they're "tech demo indie games" if the gameplay is good and entertaining. I don't need every single game to be a 120 hour long adventure like Elden Ring, sometimes I just wanna put on my VR headset and fly around in a jetfighter, beat up some fools with a melee weapon or delete someone's skull with a shotgun.
>for the price of an Index you could have bought every single modern console and gotten infinite more content out of it
I'm not interested in every single modern console, I've already got a gaming PC and most AAA games are stale as shit nowadays and have been so for over a decade. VR is something fresh. Besides, if you're an adult with a steady income, 400-1000 dollars isn't a huge amount of money anyways. I spent over 600 dollars just on HOTAS stuff for Project Wingman alone and I don't regret a thing, that game is a masterpiece in VR with proper gear
Cool thing about VR is that you can still play non-vr if you want. Plus, even if the game isn't the kind of thing you can dump hundreds of hours into, it is very different just because of the different presentation and control schemes. A cod clone feels way different when you have to move in the world and physically perform all the actions. Point and click or simulator games feel way different when its like you're actively in the room grabbing shit. Yeah, an index is a grand and doesn't have all the AAA garbage, but hasn't the majority consensus on Ganker been that AAA is overwhelmingly garbage and the best stuff is often midlevel-dev or lower
I would recommend
>pavlov
>Zenith
>halflife alex
Bought a Quest 2 a few weeks back and I have no regrets. Granted, I discovered that you can literally just pirate everything (quest or pcvr) super easily and see what you enjoy. There are interesting physics and exploration games that do cool stuff with the fact that you're interacting with the world directly. All kinds of realistic or absurd simulation games. Moss was a neat concept of basically looking down into a little diorama and helping a mouse navigate a path while also controlling the mouse. The shooters tend to be super immersive but are held down by some issues like certain games requiring you to look at your ammo for it to be grabbable or the game assuming whatever direction you're looking is forward and making checking your peripherals wonky.
Its super unpolished, at least on the quest, but its easy to get lost in the game and plenty of the stuff in the library is real games instead of tech demos. Plus, vr is getting more and more of a userbase, proving to devs that it isn't just a fad. Oculus is scummy facebook bullshit but they created a 300$ device that allows anyone to play VR even if they don't have a hot shit computer. Honestly my only complaint is that it makes your eyes tired after a while and games with active movement instead of teleporting frick with your balance if you move too fast and aren't used to it.
yeah whatever idiot
Somebody post that FRICKING Skyrim webm, you know the one.
