no it has a much better job system and a bit more of some form of a story, and endearable charactrers. desch, cid, etc. it has a bit more sovl even tho the job system was terrible compared to 5,

Next you'll tell me that WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW FFIV is just the second game again
oh i was wondering why once he left square all his games were kinda garbage. ig he def did have to have help to make them great
he still had to do something with it, he was lead for christs sake and if it wasnt for him they wpuldnta been mad ein the first place
just started playing the game right after finishing 1 and 2, and the crystal plot just seemed to be 1 again. I'm assuming it's got some stuff to set it apart but still
>crystal plot
you do realize this is like 5 of the final fantasys plot already right? its everything else that sets them apart. crystals even if the main plot dont revolve around it have always been important ot the series
oh. well yeah, the plot of 1, 3, 4, 5, and tactics revolve around the crsytals. maybe more even. and all the others at least usually bring them up. its just a underlying them but thats not really what matters to the story except in ff1, its like the background scenery to a play.
and actualyl yea they do matter to the story, ig in most of those, but its complicated. its like how the setting of a play matters. but the acts are whats interesting. ff1 and maybe 3 were the only ones where the crystals themselves can be considered part of the actual main act

Earlier games used to be all about the cryssals
6 too, by way of the magicite. 9 has that crystal world and references to crystals. 12 is save crystals and whatnot, magicite too. Pretty sure theres some crystally area in that one too, cant remember
>I, III, IV and V
Crystals straight up. >II
No crystals?! How is this possible? >VI and VII
Magicite + Relic = Materia >VIII
Lunatic Pandora. What a stupid excuse to sneak a crystal in. >IX, XIII (due to LR) and XV
Crystals not so straight up, but world lorewise the same as the first. >X and XII
Save points, recordings and environments.
The game takes a pretty hard turn later. It's kinda like how FFI started out as just being a game where the goal is to rescue a princess but that just ended up being the intro.

It was a group effort but yeah he wasn't the only one who did innovate.
saying FF1 and FF3 are the same are like saying SMB1 and SMB3 are the same
retarded bait OP

No I don't, I'm playing through the games for the first time now.

The first five games are just mild twists on the preceding ones.
All five are distinct from each other. You could argue II fails to fully set itself apart from I, but I wouldn't agree.
1, 3 and 5 are all iterations of the same concepts but it gets better every time
5 is by far the best of the 3
after playig the job system of 5 3 feels like an absolute mess
