It's only going to get worse id recommend not being autistic and collect every game under the sun. Just buy must have games that have sentimental value or good deals. Piracy and emulation is better most of the time anyway for these retro games

You and many others. Hence the price.

Everyone should just have my ability to say no and not buy at ridiculous prices, but desperation prevails

$86 isn't so bad , it was over $200 for the green label when Netflix Castlevania was airing.

The show was so bad it devalued the source material? Impressive.

Yeah but that's the thing anon why? Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's necessarily a good video game most of the time? You have to be absolutely autistic to collect trash you're not even going to use or play

I agree anon. Anybody can read the kjv for free online and I'm sure there's people that give free bibles away but a gameboy cartridge that should be $3 maximum is $300+

It is purely for conductibility. As someone who suffers from this in other ways, it makes a person go nuts to know they can't 100% complete their collection (even if they wouldn't necessarily want that item otherwise).

    Requiem SOTN fricking sucks
I compared it to a PS1 emulator and the game runs slower for some reason, as if it was based on a PAL release or something

    Game collectors are mentally ill.
Even if we ignore the retrogay original hardware purist crap, you can still burn it to a CD-R and play for free.

I feel your pain. There is one N64 game I want, but the prices for (authentic) copies of it are still too high for me.
I'm feeling the pain trying to buy older anime DVDs/blurays too.

Not animals but I made so much money selling my blurays. I'm still probably at a 10 to 20% loss I really but I made a lot back. It will pay for an iptv for 5 lifetimes.

I feel you OP, I bought genuine copies of Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Leaf Green, Colosseum and Pokemon Box to complete a Gen 3 living dex on real hardware. Pokemon XD would have been the next game I purchased but it's not necessary, plus it's like 200 dollerydoos. It ain't like the good old days where these old games went for around 15 dollerydoos give or take.

    Supply and demand.
You can't go jumping on the slop wagon for games like SOTN or recommending them for years and then just go out and buy them.

I almost bought SOTN once be ause I went through that phase. I liked all the other Castlevanias so why not. Eventually emulated it years later and don't like it at all. It's probably ranked bottom in my Castlevania list.

      >slop wagon
      >phase
I bought a PS3 and it can play PS1 games. No pop culture motivation

As a collector I always wondered why old, popular games got so expensive. Pokemon for example. Those games sold several millions and were even in bundles with gameboys/ds, yet on average cost 80-100 or even more with the box

The WATA grading thing kind of screwed over the market. Also
