Wanted to like this game but it's fucking boring as shit, the world looks great to explore but you can't because the game holds your hand and makes you follow a linear path. Are Last Light and Exodus any better?
Wanted to like this game but it's fucking boring as shit, the world looks great to explore but you can't because the game holds your hand and makes you follow a linear path. Are Last Light and Exodus any better?
i wike my hand bweing held uwu
>linear fps with linear levels is linear
How about you check out a little bit about the game before you play them, nagger?
thanks retard, I'm well aware it's linear which is why I said that it's linear
that doesn't change the fact that it has a world good for exploring and doesn't let you explore it
it's still retarded
>that doesn't change the fact that it has a world good for exploring and doesn't let you explore it
so you would prefer a linear game with a meh world over a linear game with an interesting world? because the latter frustrates you more?
then you retards would tell him
>you didn't play it
>you didn't play enough
>you played it for X hours of course you loved it
>not open world
>no crafting
>no LGBT
>no black folx
>no allys
Uh why would anyone want to play this chud game
>haha anyone I dislike is a homosexual tranny!
have a nice day
I wish we got another game in the Moscow Metro that was semi open world like Exodus. The settings atmosphere has so much potential
>linear-ish metro tunnels (but plenty of service side tunnels, metro-2 etc so not everything is mapped)
>open-world sections on surface, some are connected to several metro entrances or to each other
would be a great game
the game was originally supposed to be a open world game with rpg elements, according to the docs https://mega.nz/file/JfQRxIxC#zZooR1tNIf1Ke9q1Ad7BOrUUfupsq0LfU-ZZcoyAH7E

Have you considered that the world looks interesting and dense precisely because the devs created a dense vertical slice of the world for you to see? And that taking those same developer resources and stretching them over a huge explorable map would result in a less interesting world, because it would be sparse in comparison because it'd take 15x more effort to make it dense?
You might be retarded
great argument, kiss the barrel of a gun
Go kiss the shaft of a cock, you butthurt child.
my friend tried to convince me to play this but yeah it's been nothing but talking and cutscenes so far with characters who you meet for the first time dying. "Oh I'm supposed to go over here? Oh this guy is dead? Now this guy is dead? Now this new guy is dead too? But I'm supposed to go find a radio or something? How did I know it was up here? And it's nazis as the bad guys again? How thrilling."
Anyas nipples in my mouth
ANSWER NOW. BE HONEST:
Normal version or Redux?
It's not even a choice. Original all the way.
>Original all the way.
bullshit. Original plays like ass.
>Can you even buy the original anymore?
no but they were giving out for free before delisting it.
>Original plays like ass.
Quantify.
>Quantify.
sure, let me try
>no working stealth
>better economy
>weapon customization
>more content than 2033
>People playing it now cant really appreciate the things it did well.
Which were? I know the story is comfy and the atmosphere & graphics were there but the shooting and looting were notoriously kinda shit, even for the time.
>>no working stealth
You're right, Redux has this meme stealth where you just stick to shadows and no one can see you.
economy
customization
These are true.
>>more content than 2033
What content? Those meme safes with keys? If anything you have less content with the stuff like the removal of the volt driver in the bandit level.
All in all not worth the gameplay and graphics downgrade of the Redux.
>Redux has this meme stealth
yeah but it actually works, unlike vanilla 2033. Thanks, But I'll take a working system instead of a broken one where 20 bandits instantly know your location once your foot has been exposed to 0.5 seconds of candle light
>What content?
the weapons are content. More variety is content. Hidden stashes is content. I distinctly remember certain rooms being there in Redux that were not originally included in 2033.
>All in all not worth the gameplay and graphics downgrade of the Redux.
I bet you played 2033 13 years ago and still thinks it holds up. I played 2033 and Redux back to back and Redux is the objectively superior choice. You're just a contrarian.
I played the original 2 years ago, after playing Redux, funilly enough. Meanwhile you're just beating around the bush about ancillary features when I'm talking about the core of the gameplay and graphics.
>when I'm talking about the core of the gameplay and graphics.
they don't need discussing because they are one and the same. Redux is just a better package with far less jank.
dilate
rent free
Can you even buy the original anymore?
Pretty sure you have to hunt down 360 copies off ebay now
I got the normal version of 2033 added to my steam library when I bought Exodus for some reason.
lol @ zoomers
lol @ being 15 years closer to death than me
enjoy your slow decline old man
>the cowadooty xbox gen of gaymers shitting on anyone for not liking their slop
I technically belong to it as well but I was playing better games lol!
I had kind of this same feel.
Linear FPS suck, only half life got it right.
Everything else is just another skin for a call of duty campaign especially metro.
Last Light is mostly the same, Exodus kinda ruins the story with horrible dialoges and bad narration.
Kinda sad for a game that I totally loved the first time I play it.
Last Light is more action oriented and probably even more linear than the first game. I haven't played Exodus, but I think it's a sandbox.
>game has one of the richest atmospheres and environmental designs ever put into the medium
>"why is this heckin' game forcing me to absorb the atmosphere and environments???"
Play on Ranger Hardcore and enjoy the slow-burn immersion of the experience or fuck off and play COD if you want instant gratification
>muh no ui immersion!
fuck off retard
RH does a lot more than reduce UI, you stupid homosexual.
yes yes I know retard
it's the only difficulty where enemies aren't bullet sponges
still doesn't stop it from being boring as fuck
you didn't play it bitch.
okay dude just for you here's everything I noticed on ranger
>less ammo
>less filters
>no hud
>less bullet sponges
>filters don't auto swap
are you happy now homosexual?
nah bitch you pulled that from a youtube video
yeah man I tabbed out and skimmed through a youtube video in the 1 minute it took me to write that reply
bitch you watched it last week
>>less bullet sponges
That's not true.
are you being pedantic on purpose?
>erm ackshuly they aren't less bullet spongey you just deal more damage!
>you just deal more damage
That's not true either. You didn't play it.
sure man, you're right
I just idled the game for 5 hours
bitch I take shits longer than that
Why, i'm sure you played the game just not on RH mode.
okay
tried the original too but it crashed on me and then refused to launch again
wasn't going to spend hours troubleshooting it

retard
>redux
lmao
>Enjoy slow-burn immersion
Can't when filters last 5 seconds on RH
Thankfully the parts where a mask is needed can be easily speedran
RH pisses me off because
>Kill an enemy
>see that he has a 5 round bandolier of shotgun shells on his body
>"+1 shotgun ammo"
Thankfully there are only few times you have to fight, most human encounters can be sneakily bypassed. Did piss me off a bit at the end levels, but they start throwing MGRs at you so you can just start shooting your money away guilt free since there are no vendors from Polis onwards.
The consoliation of this series always saddens me.
>always saddens me.
WDYM? Exodus plays OK on PC even though movement is garbage and graphics are blurred to shit because of TAA.
>Wanted to like this
Why do people say this?
because I liked stalker and retards fooled me with the "it was made by stalker devs!" thing when it was just made by stalker devs that left before the first game even came out
It's just journey to the west but for slavs really
Painfully easy if you're a lootgoblin like me, even on Ranger game modes
Always thought the story was a bit pretentious but it's an ok game overall
>it's linear
I mean with a name like metro.
LL is pretty much the same but it has one really good DLC that gives you an idea of how much potential there is for this series being more than just a cinematic linear shooter. Then they just dropped that idea and just made Exodus instead which is basically Metro: Far Cry, maybe you'll like that one more.
Kshatriya?
I'd have enjoyed the DLCs more if most of em weren't just reused maps for Metro 2033. The Stalking mechanic was cool and having a little homebase to retun to was dope as shit.
I didn't mind the linearity too much but the scripted bullshit constantly killed my immersion in the game which is what I was playing it for. I have no idea who that shit appeals to but it ruined an entire generation of games.
Such a great game.
Redux is fucking retarded
I can't even see my ammo count.
Thief was also a linear game and it was pretty good. What are you looking to play even, do you just want a game with open map like stalker?
Exodus goes open world and sucks for it. Youll probably like it
I fucking hate retards like OP that want Metro to be COD or FarCry. Fuck off you fucking homosexual. The Metro series doesn't need idiots like you.
>wanting something more than an on-rails story = wanting COD or Far Cry
lol
retard take.
for me, the story was hyped up but didn't seem to be anything special. that goes for the whole game actually. the atmosphere is decent and the ammo economy is neat but the actual fighting itself is completely mediocre and nothing else makes up for it. maybe if i had made it to tomboy waifu id be singing a different tune.
>solid first game
>good second game
>third game is full hollywood mode because Glukhovsky is a liberal cargo cultic retard
I fucking hate it.
>>good second game
Open-world, but no inventory management killed my interest in Exodus, personally
Second game is the hollywood bullshit one, third game is going back to tradition and in some ways better than the original.
>noooo where's my open world crafting ubisoft tower climbing simulator with excuse RPG mechanics!!!!
I fucking love linear games now.
This. First game is this awesome introduction to the world and the second is just some we gotta fight da nazis and commies political bullshit I don't care about. It was more interesting just skirting around the political bullshit than becoming MCSOLDIER MAN
game is full hollywood mode
??????
I played the Redux of both games, had a lot of fun. Might either replay on Hardcore or whatever, or finally play thru Exodus (open-ish world kinda filtered me tbh)
Also, wtf is the difference between 2033 mode and Last Light mode? I played both games in their respective modes, and they both played the same, except a few more fast-paced Cawadoody cringekino moments in the latter
>Are Last Light and Exodus any better?
Last Light has some levels wirth more palyer freedom but it's mostly the same where you go from point A to point B.
Exodus offers more freedom but doesn't incentivise exploration enough since movement is slow and sluggish, and resources are far too valuable to waste on low-tier enemies. Both are good games but Last light is more "tight" in its design.
Metro 2033 was impressive back in the day. It had graphics that impressed in a time when Crysis was King and it implemented proper survival in a time when Resident Evil was becoming more action oriented. People playing it now cant really appreciate the things it did well.
Linear shooters are the source of 99 percent of jaded Ganker users.
There is nothing wrong with linear shooters if done right
I really didn't like Exodus but the ending does get the feels
As much as I'm sick of open world emptiness these days, I would love a semi open metro game. Essentially just an expansion of Kshatriya. No huge action hero cutscenes or anything with a save the metro storyline. Just a small section of the metro and above ground to explore as a stalker. It could be open without just being an empty field like most games. Even if it was only a couple of stations with a couple of blocks above ground you could access, you could create a lot of verticality, side tunnels, etc.
It's interesting to see games take a relatively small area but with hundreds of areas to access and explore. Kshatriya was a tiny area really but there were tunnels and rooms everywhere you looked.
Kshatriya was wasted potential. They could've made an entire game off of that premise but instead focused on Exodus and had to cut half of the content that was initially planned.
You know Pavel was supposed to be on the Autora with a chapter dedicated to him? And that the forest level has fully-voiced conversations that flesh out the history of the forest children?
So many interesting ideas thrown into the trash.
I loved Metro 2033 10 years ago when I was a kid, but I went back to play it recently and it was super fucking boring. I stopped a quarter of the way through and just downloaded some shitty shadow of chernobyl mods to play instead. Extremely standard shooter gameplay broken up by lots of heavy handed storytelling in long, goofy first person cutscenes.
Books are kino (maybe not 2035)
I really hope the next game lets of freely explore the metro semi-freely with certain paths requiring secial equipment to story-gate your progress.
That would be really fucking amazing.
That's literally all they had to do. You could go up to the surface to get to different stations too
what the fuck is that yellow milk?
no, it just comes in a yellow container for some reason
the first time I bought from this store I thought they didn't have milk and that it was orange juice until I read the label
well i just googled and it's apparently some goyslop milk with vitamin d additives
yes
I drink too much milk to buy raw
i don't get it
i drink a lot of both alcohol and milk and neither bothers me because i'm actually white
don't get what?
I drink half a gallon a day, that's already $28/week
raw milk would double that easily
damn, i only hover around a litre a day
but shouldn't adding things make milk more expensive? why is it the other way around in estados unidos?
>but shouldn't adding things make milk more expensive?
like you said, it's goyslop, precisely because of the additives
if I could do raw milk only I would but it costs way more
maybe cheaper if you can source directly from a farm but I'm in the middle of a big city
