Warriors of Might and Magic

Did anyone here play this game? I really like it for the gameplay and the overall classic old-school design. The levels are also really cool. The plot is pretty much non-existent but it's a good game to turn your brain off and just have fun with. It has a lot of charm.

Only a bit. Though I absolutely loved that spin-off game "Shifters" as a kid. Apparently it got panned by critics and no one knows it, but it had a similarly grounded feel to it and a lot of cool transformations. Sadly seems unplayable on PCSX2

Never heard about this game but according to Wikipedia it's a direct sequel to Warriors of Might and Magic! I gotta play it sometime. I never even knew this game got a sequel.

The first game Crusaders on the PS1 was better. Warriors have a PS1 port too.

The PC version was made by a different team and its terrible, dont waste your time with it.

I am aware of the PS1 port but I've never played it. It doesn't seem as well designed as the PS2 version, the levels seem pretty empty.

The Gamespot review for this game is pretty funny.
    https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/warriors-of-might-and-magic-review/1900-2699174/

    >The controls are ridiculously complex, enabling not only all the buttons on the PlayStation 2 controller but both analog sticks as well.
Using all of the buttons on the controller is too complex?
The review goes on about how difficult the game is to play and how hard the combat is. I don't think the writer figured out the elemental system.

A lot of older reviews read like this with 'difficult' basically being synonymous with bad. The truth is critics always sucked, just in a different way than today. Same with movie critics

It's a mask that digs itself into his skin.
He manages to lose it later in the game and then looks like a really generic hero-type character without it.

I never finished this but how come it's on him in Shifters?

No idea. Never played Shifters. I always thought he looked really cool with the mask, maybe the devs thought the same lol.

if these games have one thing it's comfy atmosphere

not sure but i think all these games take some liberties with story. the mask is drawing monsters so it's good for a game
