It was an extremely bland shooter with a cool setting and a terrible story that got praised by a bunch of people and places as one of the best games ever which made the people who didn't like it for what it was be more vocal about it.
Fricking horrible. They tried to get way to philosophical and esoteric with the plot. OG bioshock was like atlas shrugged meets metropolis, it was easy enough for even normies to grasp. Plus the twist (which did ultimately create plot holes and inconsistencies) was still unique at the time and honestly still unique to this day.
Infinite went all in on physics and quantum theory which left a lot of people scratching their heads, which created a confusing and forgettable narrative. Had the gameplay been good enough to compensate it would have been a different story, but ultimately behind the bad story was a mediocre at best shooter.
There's a reason it's remembered for shitty SFM porn over everything else.
It's every bad trope, gameplay and story, rolled into one game. Also frick time traveling stories, it always ends up being fricking moronic.
Someone post that reddit screencap where the dude calls him a moron.
>the dlc was neat
Big disagree
Episode 1- >Completely pointless story - nothing is lost by skipping it >Booker is the most moronic protagonist in the entire Shock series ("Hey, are you gonna tell me what's going on" "lol no" "Oh I guess that's fine, I sure hope this isn't a setup for you to get what you want and then murder me!!!") >Jank-ass gameplay that tries to combine Infinite & Bioshock 1 gameplay and does neither particularly well - and Infinite's gameplay already fricking sucked
Episode 2- >Awful moronic story that exists only to make Ken Levine's Mary Sue even MORE important to the entire franchise >Tries to BioShock 2 out of existence because Levine will never top seething that Jordan Thomas made a better game than him >Gameplay went from being janky and unfun to absolutely braindead with the easiest and most basic stealth mechanics since fricking Ocarina of Time >Elizabeth is not as moronic as Booker but comes close at times ("Oh no I'm surrounded by Fontaine's unarmed rape gang, better just stand here and do nothing, not like I have fricking magical powers and guns or anything")
Episode 2 is marginally better because at least it's not as annoying to play but they both suck ass
YES >>No modding or custom maps
Down pathetic FPS gunplay >>‘Game’ is more like an interactive movie than a real game. >> Can only carry two weapons >> Ham fisted woke political messages >> Quirky ‘humour’ to appeal to redditors and tumblr users >> Forces you to watch long scripted set pieces for the story and lore >> Mostly scripted set piece after scripted set piece >> Main Market the “why can’t I just skip the gameplay and get to the story” basedboy
Nothing in the game comes as a real surprise, because they're overselling everything and it feels forced. The fair at the start is, imo, the peak of the game. Everything else is just doing work and farming ammo. There's no discovering the game. They went from Bioshock to something more like CoD singleplayer in terms of shoving the experience.
Feels like right before they were going to ship it, some marketing team that just ran a focus group made the devs change the guns/plasmids to where you could only carry two like it's Halo or CoD. It just feels so half baked with how they want you to perma upgrade weapons like it's Bioshock 1/2, but you don't even know if you will even find any ammo for that gun or it might want you to change out to something else entirely. So I just feel the actual combat is a giant step back that keeps me from wanting to replay it. Maybe there's a mod that restores the combat to be like the first two game?
They changed it to a generic linear shooter in a mildly original setting, I was bored to tears playing it. All the weapons feel like shit and the Vigor powers are extremely basic. Even for people enamored with the story, the gameplay sucks ass, the amount of praise Infinite gets is just bizarre.
Bioshock 1 also had some of these problems, but the setting was much better and level design lets you explore at your own pace and do what you want. Infinite is so streamlined and braindead in comparison.
Yeah, it was. This thread sucks shit.
>Was BioShock Infinite THAT bad?
not really, I enjoyed it back in the day.
>Will the circle be unbroken....
Yes! Now post Elizabeth's feet
yes. but Elizabeth fricks shotas and thats hot
>Elizabeth fricks shotas
Everyone says that but I can't find other than THAT webm.
My hotwife Elizabeth!
Hot...
Check sankaku chan, anon.
It's pretty mediocre gameplay-wise. The story really is that bad though.

My favourite part is how it was praise and then later vilified by the same crowd of Twitter "folk".
That whole "Daisy Fitzroy is as bad as Comstock" line did not sit well with their ilk.
No, it's still a good game, not a great one. Also Elizabeth fricks her dad.
>Also Elizabeth fricks her dad.
F*ing hot!!!
The game was fine it just had a really dumb ending.
It was a downgrade from 1 and 2 combat wise. Didn’t care for the story. Elizabeth was hot
No, the only thing that sucks is carrying 2 weapons only
Yes, it was.

Yes it was, Bioshock 1 and 2 were at the very least fun to play.
It was infinitely bad

It's a mediocre and forgettable game that is the sequel to two great games.

Not really. It was pretty good.
It was mid as the kids say
No. i liked it more than Bioshock 1.
SEXO WITH ELIZABETH
it was simply mediocre
