Iris lost after Cynthia pulled a keystone out of her ass and Ash’s single Pokémon single handedly took out her Dynamaxed Togekiss and then continued to do so with her ace. This speaks volumes about how crap she was and overhyped.
It’s not that they got almost as strong as her, it’s that you overhyped her believing she was that strong.

bringing up Haxorus attacks doesnt even make sense, because from all of them Garchomp still took 0 visible damage in the whole fight. It just highlights how outclassed Haxorus was and that it had 0% chance of ever winning.

Because the writers made her mega evolve to win. No irisgay cares that she writers made sure she won that way. Haxorus looks like a victim who was justifiably beaten because he was fighting a powered up Pokémon and had nothing for himself.

I’m more than positive no Irisgay is upset she lost the way she did.
Lucario's victory over Garchomp was made possible by Sirfetch'd's Meteor Assault. You can see this from how Garchomp stumbles after being hit by it, and it's restated in the recap. Since Garchomp wasn't Mega Evolved and already had most of its stamina (in game terms, HP) depleted by Meteor Assault, it wasn't at full power against Lucario.
Contributed*. Garchomp still looked fine during the fight with Lucario. It could be said Garchomp even lasted that long because he just fought Togekiss with a gimmick and was weakened by it.
Togekiss was fricking the duck, the writers found a very bad excuse to weaken Garchomp

Unironically yes. They all became weaker. In past seasons Champions were practically God tier and crushed everyone else. Legitimately feels like everyone else was nerfed rather than Ash becoming a lot stronger.
