No, scrubs had the same scrub attitude even well before the CoD series was released, happened with Halo, StarCraft 2, AoE2, Quake, Unreal, Street Fighter, Tekken, etc. My point is scrubs have always done the same shit. the development of the field of psychology, combined with aggratting data and feeding it into algorithiums tofind the mathmatical min/max for proffit/cost is what killed videogames. Skilled players, much like skilled anything, are a minority. you make the most money appealing to the most people and most people are average or below average in ability. more and more games rely on systems and gameloops that precllude player skill because when you have a skill-based game, you end up with a handful of really satisfied players and thousands of people who are pissed they got their shit pushed in.
