it was a 32 bit console just like the PS1 and Saturn, it was only called 64 bits because of this

it was a scam similar to the Atari Jaguar but it was okay because it was Nintendo of course

the switch lite has a bunch of different colors, the switch itself has now 3 options with the OLED included, and then there's a bunch of joycons that you can buy to 'customize' your console

I was thinking of the regular switch and didn't really consider the lite but even in the past nintendo consoles didn't have that many EASILY AVAILABLE variants like the N64 did.

I know the gamecube and wii had an extra color or two but it was less than half as many as the N64

Does it even matter? Gamecube was 32-bit and it was more powerful than the PS2 which has a 128-bit processor. Xbox uses a 32-bit x86 processor and is significantly more powerful than both. What matters is architecture not how many "bits" you have.

I always thought this. The Gamecube was graphically WAY more powerful than anyone cared to imagine. Just only a handful of games Flexed its muscles, RE4 being the obvious one. Hell I'd say RE4 looked better than Half Life 2 on Xbox.

Yes, but the 64-bit operations were slower than the 32-bit operations. So in the end, almost none of the games used the 64-bit operations.

I can run a 32-bit OS on my Core i7 but it is still a 64-bit CPU.

If you play 32-bit games on your Win 10 x64 and 64-bit CPU both will become 32-bit.

Yes it was. The console's main microprocessor is a 64-bit NEC VR4300 CPU with a clock rate of 93.75 MHz.

They called that generation the 128-bit era for some reason, but only the PS2 was 128-bits.

This was the first time Nintendo blatantly lied to its fans. They said the visuals were going to be like the ones in Jurassic Park and said the N64 versions of cruisn USA and killer instinct were going to be “identical” to the arcade versions.
