Basically American Exceptionalism to its extreme. A woman used quantum physics (see: magic) to make anything float and a guy named Comstock hired her to make a flying city. Columbia was a proud branch of America until Lincoln freed the slaves after which Columbia went independent. Now you have a homogenous eden for the white man... but just like Rapture no one wants to scrub the toilets or maintain the pipes. So rather than con a bunch of poor people to fix their shit while also antagonizing them at every turn, they air lifted a bunch of black and Irish people to fix their shit while antagonizing them at every turn. The powder keg being Daisy Fitzroy.

Comstock's magic experiments made him sterile so he used Rosalind to steal an alternate dimension daughter. Since explaining a multiverse to a bunch of 1910s dipshits is impossible, he just told everyone that his wife had a week long immaculate pregnancy and that he was a prophet. Which convinced everyone except his wife who assumed the baby came from an affair with Rosalind. After she confronted him, Comstock killed his wife and blamed it on her servant Daisy. This combined with the segregation was the last straw and Daisy made a rebel group to fight against everyone in Columbia.

Rosalind learned Comstock planned on using his "daughter" to be his heir and torch America so to stop it they fished out Elizabeth's alternate dimension father to try and stop her. And while Comstock has to stop Daisy's rebellion he also has to keep (you) away from Elizabeth so his stupid ass plan won't fail

This is the plot before the story goes maximum moron in the last hour and everyone starts speaking in tongues

I enjoyed it when I played it back at release. Remember finishing it in two sittings. Never felt the need to go back to it or play the DLC.

It was about both. It was made by ~~*Ken Levine*~~ after all.
Also, Liz had her design deliberately de-sexified in the final game.

Comstock is still Booker and therefore half Nativo Americano.
Pretty sure it's just the radicalization by Religion and also the refusal to own up to the dumb shit you do.

Wasted potential. There was a lot of sexual tension between Booker and Elizabeth, but the developers were to much of fricking Pussy’s to capitalize on it. Now it’s known as the weakest of the trilogy. Could’ve been the Oldboy of vidya. Very sad

No it's not. Even if it wasnt related to Bioshock it would be very average with a shit story.

I pirated it around release and beat it on hard I think? It was my first Bioshock game. At one point I killed one of those big robotic with a human head buttholes with one shot to the chest with the handcannon. I was upset I was NEVER able to pull this off again. That's my most significant memory of the game. And the porn.

    Terrible and pretentious.

Dogshit, you only get two guns at a time. Minibosses are completely forgettable.
    >N-Word Status
Not a single character says Black person. Immersion ruined.

The game makes it explicit that even if there are infinite universes, that does not mean there are infinite possibilities. This isn't even a concept they came up with. There are infinite fractions between zero and one, but none of them are two. The plot was probably better before it got a last minute rewrite but this isn't a plot hole, it's answered in the game itself.

Yes it is. Constants and variables is a stupid idea that bioshock infinite uses to have its cake and frick it too. There always must be in Elizabeth therefore there always must be a Booker as well. Even though both can perform different actions and behave in different ways. Such as when one Booker became a freedom fighter and then a martyr. So I have a question: what happens if an alternate reality Booker doesn't decide to take part in Wounded Knee. What if an alternate reality Booker was born a woman and didn't join the Army. Robert Lutece is a male version of Rosalind after all. What happens if rather than deciding to get baptized Booker decided to drown himself and hookers to forget his grief? Or here's an interesting one, what if Booker decides to just be a good father and not sell his daughter? Or if he never meets Anna Dewitt at all. Suddenly the constants and variables things can't work. Because every change in one decision cascades into changes in every other decision. Such as Chen Lin deciding to marry an Asian woman in one timeline but a white woman in another. Will their children turn out the same? Whose children carries over? Kind of important since we're talking about the existence of a whole person who may exist in one timeline but not exist in another.

What I'm saying is that BioShock Infinite Multiverse is stupid and only exists to try and force a tragic ending shouldn't affect anything

Yes, it's a game with a excellent art direction and the gameplay is solid, although the story takes a straight 180 from the previous games in exception of the dlcs, it's one of the must plays if you didn't play that game back then.

Hard carried by art direction. Only reason people seem to like the plot is Liz being western waifubait. Gameplay is worse than every prior shock game and the writing itself is less memorable than bioshock 1's worldbuilding and twist

I remember literally nothing about it. It sure is amazing how games like Infinite got hailed as the second coming of Christ back then but somehow aged so terribly nobody even remembers they existed.

It was good and not overly long which I preferred. Booker is a terrible character though, he talks too much for you to immerse and he doesn't talk enough to have his own personality. It's hard to even understand if he gives a shit

I don't really remember anything about it but I remember thinking the plot was riddled with holes and nonsense. But it was just confusing enough and had a stupid enough twist that a lot of mouthbreathing morons got bomboozled into thinking it's something deep and complex.

In reality it falls apart the moment you actually think about it for more than 30 seconds.

Mediocre spectacle shooter, remarkable only for being one of the most intensely overhyped and blatantly shilled games in history.

The opening level (walking sim, first cop encounter, rooftops) is the only good part of the game. It felt fresh - exploration, aggro human AI, amazing art direction but it quickly devolved into a preachy intellectual exercise about class and race based on spurious, racist history and science as magic.

Bioshock Infinite is one of the biggest disappointments (and bombs) in video game history and may God have mercy on Kevin Levinsky's damaged soul.

      >it quickly devolved into a preachy intellectual exercise about class and race
I wish that were true. Instead it's a confused mishmash of vague references to class and race without ever actually making a point.

        >I wish that were true. Instead it's a confused mishmash of vague references to class and race without ever actually making a point.
It is true, just not a satisfying one. So a psuedo-intellectual exercise about race and class, then.

The review for the movie Heavens Gate called it "a forced, four-hour walking tour of one's own living room" and that's basically what Bioshock Infinite is. Here's the American imperialism room, here's the racist underclass room, here's the evil capitalist room, etc.

        >without ever making a point
The thesis is literally "Anglo-American white people are sexist and racist and the world would be better if they didn't exist". It's transparent race hatred, completely lacking in any nuance.

I recommend you check out the magic circle’. It’s made by a bunch of devs who worked on infinite.

If what happened during Infinite’s development is even half as bad as what shown in TMC then I feel sorry for those devs.

Looks good to me from what I've seen and read.

I got all 3 games in disc format for the Xbox 360 and for my Xbox One I got the definitive editions in digital.

My backlog is so huge I'll get to it in some years. I'm starting off with the Xbox 360 versions.

i like it as a basic shooter with great visuals and a meta of "you're going on an adventure but your companion is the most popular pornstar of 2013"
