Honestly both are great, just play the first one and if you like it then play the second. Then if you still want more ignore 3 and play MGS Ghost Babel

If you want something akin to Metal Gear, but with focus on dungeon exploration and puzzles, then play the first one. But if you want something with RPG elements, then play 2 and 3.
