Throwing more people at it will make it take even longer lmao

They have no idea what they are doing.
You have to spend ridiculous hours training and teaching people.

You two aren't wrong, but the issue is you're misunderstanding the issue here. The real problem is that the competent people left blizzard, so King Kotick now has to hire people with a proven track record that are willing to dodge milk rooms and not look the wrong way at the HR feminists or say the wrong thing regarding female characters in video games or use the wrong pronouns when they talk to the diversity quota hired creatures at HQ.

This is a very, very bad sign because it shows that the people with means and skills decided to frick off because Blizzard isn't THE place to work in the gaming industry anymore.

It hasn't been the place to work for a long time, as evidenced by all of its longtime employees leaving a few years ago around the same time
But here's the thing, it's not that the people in charge are merely incompetent, its that they're ARROGANT
They keep talking down to the playerbase and the only times they make changes (e.g. covenants being locked in) is when a literal half of their playerbase including all famous wow streamers leave for other games.

If they had any respect for their playerbase at all they would have asked for feedback on dragons instead of shoving shit on a plate, acting surprised when the majority think its fricking trash and discounting all player feedback and suggestions.
It's the fricking ARROGANCE that gets me the fricking most!

kek even gave the females scaly beards

it's a fricking joke dude, the only people happy about this are the alphabet mongrels on twitter, i've even heard rumours that the dragonform automatically turns off outside combat so you're forced to look at that disgusting elf abomination, but have no idea if true or not

This is out of date, the current wow playerbase is a mixture of beaten housewife addicts including me and moronic alphabet twitter zoomers that think everything is great and the cash shop should have even more mounts
                It's just sickening.

                >they're ARROGANT
This was pretty much the reason they killed 10-man raiding too.

Ever since late MoP the devs have been weirdly selective about taking player feedback, and they always take way too long to act. I don't know why anyone is holding out hope. There's already several better options out there.

I've often said that the only thing that can kill WoW is blizzard itself, its not that other options are good its that they're vacuuming up distraught players who can't stand how far the game has fallen but still need an MMO to be addicted to.

Yeah but they have to somehow stand out against overmarketed soulless projects funded by huge publishers, not saying its impossible but generally autists aren't social butterflies good at marketing and want to just keep coding or building.

Stay casual for as long as you can. Once you go mythic all content below it becomes extremely boring and trivial.

I raided mythic in legion and heroic in cataclysm, including heroic rag + deathwing
Tomb of Sargeras and its "one person makes a mistake everyone dies" philosophy of raid design was just too much, kil'jaeden was especially one of the worst fights i've ever had the displeasure to attempt.

When you finally clear out any prog boss and it feels like a relief instead of a victory thats how you know the fights are bloated and terrible.
I don't see myself ever going back, pushing torghast to the heroic/mythic ilvl layers in raid finder gear is good enough for my hard content fix even if its artificial difficulty.

                Anonymous

I have a different perspective as I mostly play tank, but as long as you have a good guild that isn't full of toxic morons, wiping and progression are just whats gotta happen to reach your goal. Clearing hard content feels like conquering a mountain to me. Especially pre nerf. But doing that requires having a full guild of hardcore extremely competitive nerds. But when mythic is at its best, its some of the most fun I've had in all gaming.

                Anonymous

The guild was fine it was the content
Mythic nighthold was fun as frick, Gul'dan was a kickass endboss, the fights were well designed, if someone made a mistake it was potentially recoverable or at worst only they would die
The only exception of course being Star Augur, but i didn't see the problem since that was the only boss in the raid that had a group punishment mechanic so it was funny.

And then you get to tomb, where everything from the naga b***h onward has a mechanic where if one player makes a mistake the entire raid instantly dies, the most egregious was maiden where if at any point a single person loses concentration for a split second the whole raid instantly dies from the fel/holy orb mechanic

And then there was bullshit like avatar where you had to stack sub rogues because not only were the positioning requirements moronic, but you had to manage those shitty purple beams perfectly with no room for error

TERRIBLE raid, i dont remember even hating dragon soul as much as I hated tomb.

I like hard content, but i don't like punishing content.

At this point it's just beating a dead horse. WoW has been shit ever since WoD and every new expac just keeps getting worse and worse.

Blizz unironically needs to end retail and just focus their remaining resources on refining WoW classic vanilla/tbc/wotlk servers.

      Anonymous

      >since WoD
Legion was a huge step up in quantity and quality of content. The expansion just had some trash fire systems (legendaries in particular) and introduced shit that would get way worse with the iterations in BFA and SL.

        Anonymous

Legendaries were actually fricking awesome, it was obtaining legendaries that was pants on head moronic and they refused to do anything about it until the final patch

And hiding power boosts instead of cosmetic appearance at the end of a massive exp grind on your artifact when the endgame is designed to a razors edge around dps was also fricking stupid

The amount of guilds who had 1% wipes on Krosus where it would have been a kill if all raiders had a 54 artifact was ridiculous.

          Anonymous

          >obtaining legendaries that was pants on head moronic
Yeah, this is the part of it that I was referring to. On top of them being pure RNG, having a soft cap on legendary drops so your character could be effectively bricked. Bonus points for Blizzard denying there was a soft cap.

            Anonymous

Thankfully i was lucky to get the one i needed inside the softcap but frick me it was such a cooked system, it's really amazing that they managed to somhow make it even worse in shadowlands with mandatory grinding, and then refused to listen to players cries for help until half their subs and streamers fricked off to FF14

            Just disgusting behaviour all around.

            >no sexy chainmail bikinis
I hate this world. Clearly the only solution is a new indie scene. I don't care if it will boost the EGS platform because most will opt for UE 4 and 5 instead of Unity but frick it. Let the gaming industry burn.

The problem is that to make SOUL games you need autists, but now normies make videogames, there wasn't enough gatekeeping with impenetrable tech barriers.

              Anonymous

              >i was lucky to get the one i needed inside the softcap
Good for you. I didn't get either of the legendaries I needed on 3 characters of the same spec and got perma benched in NH, since as a WW monk I barely had a spot on the roster in the first place.

A little before 7.2 came out, I called my GM a Black person then logged off and haven't been back to the game since. To this day, I feel sick when I see WoWgays praising Legion.

              Anonymous

Gatekeeping isn't the problem, neither is user friendly tech. The problem is people started treating game making like a job. >Legion was a huge step up in quantity and quality of content.
It really wasn't. It was just WoD but without the mandatory garrison shit. And yes, the legendary system was fricking terrible.

          Anonymous

No. Legion still had a semi mandatory garrison system in class order halls. Legion was nothing like wod as it actually had raids, and the raids were fun. The legendary system imo was the only good borrowed power system they have released. I mythic raided and grinded AP on 3 toons and was not burned out from the system. Either you didn't play legion, or you're a casual. Either way opinion discarded. Legion was the last good xpac.

            >The legendary system imo was the only good borrowed power system they have released.
You mean artifact weapons. Artifact weapons were good, yes.

The legendaries were fricking bullshit RNG acquisition though. Everyone forgets that you had to grind to get legos and if you got the wrong one you were potentially fricked for weeks before you could get another.

              Anonymous

Oh ahaha. I forgot about that shit, everyone in my guild was complaining but I got my two bis extremely quickly. Loved playing fire mage with the hard cast pyro procs. One of the coolest rotations ever. But I'm sure it sucked if you had bad rng until they added the catch up patch.

                >But I'm sure it sucked if you had bad rng until they added the catch up patch.

It wasn't till the end of the expansion that they finally fixed it and added a system where you could farm a currency and buy the specific lego you wanted...and then it was all scrapped.

                >Loved playing fire mage with the hard cast pyro procs.

Yea, if you got the good legos, you were doing vastly more DPS than everyone else.

                Anonymous

Yeah I would probably have a negative opinion on them if I was playing more than one toon, or didn't get rng lucky. I think the only reason I started mythic raiding is because I got those two bis legos and did ludacris dps due to fire mage being op at the time. I was the lucky one I guess.

Blizzard really fails to understand what makes wow fun. BfA wasn't really that bad, at least the raids after g'hun were good. But SL was by far the worst experience I've had. I remember burning myself out in the first week to acquire full pre-normal bis. And then having to grind renown cap, torghast, sytgia, covenant campaign, all to stay competitive. All I wanna do is raid, why do they make raids a once a week activity while the rest of the game is dogshit grinding for systems you don't care about. At least with artifact weapons it felt like I was getting stronger, soulbinds were shit tier world quest and drop grinding until you get your icy veins BIS to have 1% improved damage. And DO NOT get me started on having to spam norm dungeons to farm legendaries. JUST MAKE THE RAIDS AND M+ GOOD FRICK THE SYSTEMS NOBODY WANTS THEM.

      Anonymous

I really REALLY hope they go as vanilla as possible in dragonflight and just focus on unfricking content instead of designing a whole new set of hoops to jump through just to be competitive

Ion said they were planning on it being a 2 patch expansion from the start. Ion wouldn't lie to us, would he?

      KEK

        Anonymous

Literally. Just MoP it up and add a rep grind or dailies or something, why the frick did they feel the need to add a battlepass to wow. And then hard cap the amount you can gain per week. I was so excited for SL, honestly the burn out didn't set in until we had mythic nath on farm and no new raid was released for forever. And when it finally came out it was dogshit and korthia sucked. And do not get me started on grinding the double legendaries in current content. All we need for a good wow xpac is:
        Good dungeons designed around mythic+
Good raids that are released consistently, MINIMUM 5 RAIDS. No more of this 3 raids per xpac wod shit.
Just get rid of the great vault. Random chance mechanics are not fun. Make M+ drop something that can be traded for key specific gear. Make raiding drop badges that can be traded for tier specific gear. No borrowed power, just make tier sets again. Remove pvp scaling entirely. Either gut LFR and turn it into a solo experience with bots, or stop making it drop something that competitive raiders need. I'm so fricking tired of being forced to play LFR so they can let little timmy experience the new content. Any mf that played LFR n'zoth knows the struggle. Honestly that sums up my main problem with wow these days. New systems get added, and you are FORCED to engage with them if you want to be competitve. There is no player choice, its a requirement to do every single LFR boss, all floors of torghast, all dailies in the maw, your entire covenant campaign, max renown, and a trillion other things. None of it is options or rewards the same rewards, all have an independant reward that you need and it makes something that could be fun, extremely tiring and grindy.

they can tinker with a ton of different systems and it still wouldn't fix the game if they don't make classes fun to play
in the latest patch destro was reduced to just pressing one button over and over and it does like what, 30% more damage than some of the mid/low tier specs? It might be fun to top the meters but in the long run people will get tired of that kind of class design.

A lot of the classes need updates. One of the reasons I enjoyed legion so much was because they finally updated the specs that had fallen off or were too outdated. I really hope the new talent system fixes some of these problems, but I feel like entire spec reworks need to come out from blizz. I don't really experience this much as I play DH tank, DK tank, and whatever mage spec is good for current patch (fix fire again plz).

Yep, honestly as a casual shadowlands is really enjoyable just slowly working towards cosmetics or mounts.
Sure i don't get mythic gear or anything like that, but when you aren't forced to do everything you can actually start to enjoy the stuff you like

          >turning WoW into a battle royale

          Please GOD NO.
Even with dragonflying it would be a pure clusterfrick of horseshit, and no doubt it'll be mandatory fricking content

Stay casual for as long as you can. Once you go mythic all content below it becomes extremely boring and trivial.

            >even with dragonflying it'll still turn into a pachinko machine with match 5-6 fruits, more of a clusterfrick of horseshit but you'll still have the real world money shop to put your credit card into to skip the wheel-spins anon.

Still have 'fun' with your guild to compete on who can shove more quarters into the pachinko machine faster.

Why do you people pretend if WoW had some perfect system it would suddenly be good again? WoW and the Warcraft story has been shit since Frozen Throne. You are hopeless addicts that can't move on but know the thing you are addicted is killing you. Blizzard doesn't have the ability to make fun interesting games anymore and it's been like that since the early 2000s almost 20 fricking years. You are old pathetic losers at this point. Stop feeding this addiction and move on.

Because WoW at its absolute core is unrivalled, but has an abusive parent
It doesn't need the perfect system, its core movement/combat fits like a glove and stood the test of time

All it needs is to be adopted by someone that actually gives a shit and will just go back to basics making good content instead of all these shitty layers of gimmicks and hack writers.

This shit can't have just been shadowlands, if it turns out that the grand plan from the start of BFA was having the war fizzle out in a cutscene, only two warfronts, one of which was hastily put together with reused assets (I know noone liked warfronts but the effort was clearly not there for darkshore) and a sudden shift to "use the necklace to fire a big laser, day is saved ignore your original goal of stopping the planet dying of stab wound" then I don't know what they were thinking.

No doubt there's shit that we'll never know, but morale there is for sure at an all time low

here's a free tip for blizzard that would fix all their problems

fire all the gays, troons, and anyone with blue/pink/weird hair colors.
They don't want to make your game better, they are there to insert their propaganda. If WoW died because of their decisions they would not give a frick a week later.

Indeed. When I hear about how they cancelled Warcraft Adventures because they realized they were late to the party, its the type of thing like "Yeah, that makes sense". These days they just grasp at straws and give no shits about quality, only maintaining that bare minimum level to keep whales dumping money at them.

Spellbreak was actually really fun, if it gets added to Battle.net, maybe it can get some more players

    >Now they have to integrate 100 people into the development team on top of crunching to finish the game by the end of the year
What the frick is going on over there? Is this Microsoft's doing? How could they think this is going to work out for them? The most optimistic perspective is that they've been working on Dragonflight during the Shadowlands patch cycle because they know that everyone just wanted Shadowlands to end anyway

Right wingers are truly mentally ill giving money to a corporation like blizzard who hires trannies and lgbtq parasites who they hate with a passion. They follow their social media act outraged about it then line up to eat the next piece of slop blizzard shits out from their prolapsed anus.
