They need to give you a reason to make you keep exploring to find weapons. i know it's a shit excuse and they could have come up with something much better.

the real problem with botw is that the armor set enchantments are incredibely underwhelming
either way, dont forget to dilate and kys
>armor set enchantments are incredibely underwhelming
No way. >Stealth set allows you to be completely silent while jogging, also you run very fast at night >barb/fierce diety set gives 50% more damage and makes you spin longer with 2h weapons >Ancient set makes ancient weapons 50% stronger and stacks with attack food >Climbing set and swimming set for exploring
>stealth set
stealth is completely broken without it already, not to mention its the first set with a bonus you get shoved up your ass, aka the developers probably regard it as the most worthless one >barb/fierce/ancient set
flat attack bonuses are completely unimaginative (and the spin stamina bonus is useless as you can already have 3+ stamina bars, which let you spin for a stupid amount) >climbing/swimming set
these are the most pathetic. climbing set makes you climb faster but does nothing for your distance/stamina ratio. swimming set is even worse, nobody even bothers equiping it while swimming.
the point is the set bonuses are incredibely boring. you literally can only get a speed bonus during night time from armor. they couldve atleast given you some new attacks for certain weapon types, bonuses to gliding, speed during daytime or any number of new abilities tied to the numerous mechanics in the game. then finding a new armor piece (the whole idea that you only get bonuses if you equip an entire set and its atleast upgraded to level 2 is moronic aswell) would atleast feel rewarding. As it is now none of the armors in the game feel like they really change all that much, even though they are the big permanent upgrades you can find, as weapons are more akin to ressources. you just get the dmg bonus armor sets and maybe swap in the lightning helm every once in a while, its bland and unimaginitive. botw is a huge sandbox game with stupid amount of physics interactions, its perfect for OP gamebreaking stuff like morrowind spells or borderlands weapons and yet the best endgame upgrades you can find are a dmg/movespeed boost
past a certain point the weapon durability is just lazy game design meant to add fake depth to the game. i understand the level 1 wooden sword breaking, but it is dumb to see it happen with the epic level 9000 super sword and have to whip out a copy from the set of 20 in your bag. it just feels shitty.
>remember when [old game] had this inconvinient feature? wow that was so epic >NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO weapon durability?!?!?!? this is literally reddicide
My buddy is playing a lighting fury javazon without titan's revenge, which has self-repair. He has to tp every minute to repair his thunderstroke. Seems annoying as shit.
Don't mind it
Makes me more aware of other shit >need to leave the town for some adventuring >have to buy hammers to fix equipment >check if i have enough options and antidotes >do i still have return scroll? >ill go grab an extra sword just for safety
It like im going on actual expedition and not just a walk
Yeah but it's not hard to find some diamonds for a replacement in the earlier versions. They probably included repair options because of enchanting and how time consuming it can be without a proper XP/mending farm setup.
Dead Rising did it perfectly in 2006, yet people are still fricking it up for some reason >Magazines let you multiply durability but take up inventory space >Skateboard is the fastest way of moving, but has awful durability, incentivizing you to look for ways to avoid running into zombies while on it >Guns are balanced by the fact that they have a bad inventory space to zombie kills ratio, incentivizing you to save them for bosses >Weapons share space with healing items, making the decision to stockpile on weapons difficult
fallout 1 2 tactics 4 suck cuz they dont have it
>BOTW
why? just why ?
i'm okay with the 100+ copy pasta shrines , low enemy variety and empty world but not this

You can mod out that dogshit mechanic on Cemu.
>Download save editor
>Make weapon durability 999999
>Experience improves immeasurably
>takes out giant flame sword and oneshots everything in sight
>"wow bro the EXPERIENCE bro, it's unmatched bro!"
yeah its more convenient than managing 50 expendable flame swords the game hands to you.
>i'm okay with the 100+ copy pasta shrines , low enemy variety and empty world
I'm not, so it's a good thing BotW doesn't have that then huh gaylord
>good thing BotW doesn't have that
Anon, I
Works on my machine using CEMU. You should try playing games on a system that actually doesn't try to gimp you or your experience.
>play fire emblem
>my waifu is a dragon
>dragon orb breaks
>cant play with my wife
Dogshit
>weapon visibly breaks
I think I’d actually accept weapon durability in a game if you could actually see the weapon degrade over time.

I love this smiling homie like you wouldn’t. Believe

>anything you craft just ends up being worse than stuff you can buy
Yes?
Minecraft doesn't count because mending and repairs exist.
That implemented that shit years after release

I viewed weapons more like ammo than weapons in BOTW
That's how you're supposed to view it but anti-botw tryhards are too stupid to understand a gameplay mechanic so here we are

Heh.
This is one of the few times this meme made me laugh.
>you can't repair unless you are on a workbench
>game shits out so many repair items/blacksmiths that durability never becomes an issue
I don't know which design pisses me off more: weapons that break in 2 hits or flashlights that lasts 2 minutes.
The worst case of weapon durability ever is Animal Crossing New Horizons. A fricking single player sim game has durability.
We’re really running this meme into the ground
Us or the developers?
I’m talking about “own nothing” man but I guess it applies to that too:
and you will be happy about it
