Well well well...

Even Pokemon's iconic pokeball was just blatantly stolen. People would never even have connected the dots if Pokemon fans didn't lose their shit over a game playing slightly similar to their game. Stones and glass houses, right?

      that and this
      >Capsule Monsters (カプセル怪獣, Kapuseru Kaijū) are monsters which are micronized and stored by Dan when he is unable to fight as Seven. Each monster is stored within capsules and can be summoned by throwing it in the mid-air, returning to their original heights and fight under the time limit of one minute. These monsters were not even strong enough to defeat the series' weekly antagonists and were usually acted as cannon fodder before Dan transformed into Seven.

It'd be hilarious, but it never happened.

There are so many pokemon with so many parts and colors that you could probably make any design by combining parts of multiple pokemon. That means nothing.

They know, chinks steal without any shred of irony and then gaslight you into thinking its the same thing as when a jap steals from another jap. It's why Japan genocides them every now and then. Be happy, this Palworld shit might actually be the tip of the asian war of the 2020s. The Japs might lose it and bring back the 1930s style Jap mindset out of nowhere and go after China like the old days.

Pal Worl is literally an asset flip

      Anonymous

That's not the right definition. Asset flip is a game that flips assets from another game. Like Yakuza 4 is an asset flip of Yakuza 3. Whoever's in charge of that dictionary is a fricking moron

        Anonymous

If a company is using its own assets then it's not an asset flip. Getting a ton of pre-made assets from a store and then just slapping them together with 0 originality is an asset flip.

          Anonymous

no its not, an asset flip is using the inspiration of a larger companies game rather than being original

I was always under impression that Asset Flip games were the ones where somebody just used bunch of free/paid assets from Unity/Unreal/Whatever engine store, and then made a half-assed game using those. That is not illegal, it's just incredibly lazy.
Taking assets from another game without permission would actually be illegal.

The fact that pokeballs are so small that they can fit in your pocket is literally what the series is named after, but pal spheres are soccer ball sized and even bounce like one. That's a pretty massive difference.

      Anonymous

Pokeballs fit in pockets because they have mass displacement technology, both for the pokemon they capture and the balls themselves. You see them grow in size just before Ash throws it at a pokemon. Expanded they're too fat for anyone to say they comfortably fit in someones pants pocket, much less 6 of them.
Who the frick knows what the explanation is for those palworld balls besides "it's a videogame".

Even before that Dragon Ball had capsules which is the same basic idea, you can put dead humans in capsules not a big stretch to live animals
and actually toriyama put the capsules in another one shot manga before dragonball, although there you had to boil them in water to open them, there's an idea for a monster tamer game, actual effort required to summon the monster each time
