congrats, you can get better frames by making the game look worse

Yes that's how graphics options work you moron.

oh cool, so they fixed the performance in towns, right?

  6. 3 weeks ago
    Anonymous

but the performance issues are CPU bound, so this will actually make the game run worse

      Anonymous

how, it's framegen homie, if anything this is the easiest way they have to "fix" performance issues, just have them create more fake frames instead of improving cpu usage

        Anonymous

Because the point of framegen is lightening the load of the GPU by offloading it to a CPU bound frame generation algorithm

you're terminally a gamer and you need to stop talking. breathing, actually.

          Anonymous

Lmao what? Framegen runs on the optical flow engine on the GPU and you see almost perfect 2x scaling in CPU bound games like Flight Simulator.

        Anonymous

Framegen was available day one, it doesn't help in this case to place additional work on your CPU. It is meant to be used in the opposite scenario when you are GPU bound with CPU overhead to put the load on your processor instead. If you have 30 FPS in town without framegen enabled, with this CPU intensive feature enabled you're getting the latency/feel of roughly 20-25 FPS.

Imagine releasing a game with a game breaking bug that makes the game unplayable and then taking more than 2 months to patch it. And people will defend this turd.

Looks like you've set the render scale below 100, or is that the problem? That your GPU is so bad that you have to play like that?

        Anonymous

is a 3070 really that bad? not the anon you responding too but my game looks very similar and it still runs sub 60 fps

          Anonymous

Not at all, the 3070's only problem is the VRAM, but that shouldn't cause a game to look like that, that screenshot just looks like fricked up settings, like running the game much below your monitor's actual resolution, you might be either using a very low render scale percentage or a very aggresive FSR/DLSS scaling.

Im running it on a 2060Super and it looks like how its supposed to, so you should easily achive the same. Cant say anything about the FPS though

ya i got frustrated at the preformance so i brought all the settings down to minimun and i was still getting shit fps, granted this was weeks ago so i havent tried with these new fixes, will have to check it out again. i really want to like the game but cant stand how terrible it runs on my rig and im not that interested in upgrading just yet.

              Anonymous

The game's performance issues cannot be fixed by lowering the settings, I suppose only disabling raytracing could help in lowering the CPU demands slightly.

the performance issues are all fixed. do a full shader cache reset.

How will that help with the massive CPU issues at towns?

        Anonymous

        and if I don't?

just do it also update your drivers it wipes your shader cache anyways

          Anonymous

          >just trust me bro
Umm... Nyo, you still haven't said how that will help with the massive CPU issue, that will just cause you to have stutters until the shader cache is rebuilt again

            Anonymous

they redid the shader pipeline. old shaders will cause stutter. new drivers from amd/nvidia fix the performance issues too and they wipe your cache automatically as part of their fix.

              Anonymous

you don't know how shaders work. they're based on hashing and if a shader is compiled differently, then it will have a different hash.

I don't know if it's placebo but I'm (visually) getting 60 fps in town now, the morgue too where it always lagged for me.
    I changed no settings. 3060ti.

Need someone with the game installed to confirm.

      Vernworth I mean

Can confirm they fixed the performance in Vernworth, wheat field still rapes the framerate and also certain chokepoints in the overworld.
      But Vernworth seems fixed.

Have they fixed the dogshit pacing, the complete and utter lack of post game, the awful monster variety, the lacklustre characters and the vocations (baring Warrior) all being worse than their DDDA versions?

Doesn't say anything about performance optimization except for the frame gen which is just a lazy way to do it.

I fricking hate frame generation. Absolutely fake metric that makes a game look and feel worse just to pump up an arbitrary number for no reason.

Like the moment there's any motion on screen, especially if you move the camera, it is a blur of artifacts.

  19. 3 weeks ago
    Anonymous

Not sure how many copies of DD2 sold but considering game reception and actual fact that it was weaker than first game we probably won't even see expansion for it. Capcom will only invest in remakes of RE remakes and MH.

  20. 3 weeks ago

    top is frame gen on
    bottom is frame gen off

not gonna lie it's not bad
I think the biggest flaw might be that frame gen makes the grass look kinda fricked up when the wind is blowing but other than that unless I purposely try to swing the camera around like a madman to get artifacts to show up I can't see a visual difference and as far as input delay goes DD2 is a slow enough game that it makes no difference
maybe if this was devil may cry I'd notice

  21. 3 weeks ago

Have they made it so it runs on dx12?

there's the framerate with frame gen on as the minotaur gets buttfricked by a dozen guards

  23. 3 weeks ago

    That's not gonna fix anything.
The reason the FPS is kill in the cities is because DENUVO rapes your CPU.
All this is going to do is fry your GPU and give you a bunch of smeared frames.
