To put it in David Gaider's words: "We're not owned by EA, we ARE EA." because when EA purchased BioWare, BioWare stopped being its own company. It is literally just the Edmonton division of EA run by what little is left of BioWare's management. It's been assimilation year by year into how EA does things, and reporting to EA's system, and hiring new people and networking with people inside of EA who are now BioWare employees.

Mike Gamble himself came from EA in order to join BioWare during ME2. That David Silverman guy who had the "Awesome button" fiasco on DA2 and led the "EARTH" marketing on ME3 was literally Frank Gibeau's underling who previously led EA's attempt to market Command & Conquer before they ruined that series.

No, Casey is gone for good. He is the general manager for Humanoid Studios now.

Y'all should be looking out for Humanoid Studios, now called Humanoid Origin (copyright issues I think)

I checked their Linkedin. They have MORE BioWare vets than BioWare does right now, and high-profile ME2/ME3 era vets.
        >Caroline Livingstone, VO Director of all BioWare since ME2~DA:I
        >Rob Blake: The sound designer of ME2/ME3 creating all those awesome Geth noises and Reaper BWAAA and amazing level ambiance.
        >ACK
So... I just learned that there's been layoffs at his company and instead they're doing AI, and Casey just tweeted when changing names that Humanoid "Origin" was meant to reflect that they are anti-AI. And then I saw pic related

I really liked Callisto Protocol. Like, it was slightly janky, but even though Dead Space Remake was well done it was still a game I knew almost inside and out from 15 years ago, and the revisions to the narrative and level design wasn't different enough to feel original to me. Callisto felt really cool though, and Karen Fukuhara had the same Hollywood starfricking vibe that I miss from ME2 and ME3 days.

There's still things to look forward to if Casey is done firing people, since they have a novelist in charge of their IP who has released 5 full length sci fi novels and stuff. In the last interview he did, Casey said they're thinking about how to do "Next-generation interactive dialogue".

              >Dead Space Remake was well done
It wasn't, all the parts that were "well done" was just what was left of the original game and its reputation. Whenever the "remake" team's involvement is more clear it usually involves ruining the atmosphere or misunderstanding what the original developers were going for, like ruining the tension of the intro run to the elevator or introducing fricking freeroam mechanics when Isaac is in a situation where he really SHOULDN'T waste time wandering around random corners of the fricking ship.

            >Humanoid Origin (Casey Hudson): Unannounced
            >Worlds Untold (Mac Walters): A "Bespoke" near-future sci fi game. So probably more like The Last of Us. Mac hated choices so it will probably feel closer to a Naughty Dog game, and he said it will not be an RPG.

IN what reality would that be true. BioWare's responsible for some of the games I want the most. They stopped being great at it after ME2 due to a lot of great people departing but to me Bioware's games are many tiers over your Dragons Dogma 2s and Naughty Dog slop and whatever else gamers like. CRPG are for old wrinkly dudes.

That goes to show you my point: Y'all talking complete shit about anything that's related to BioWare, because of an illogical response to ME3 being controversial, make you look like god damn fools. Why even talk about Bioware games if you're that dejected from what a BioWare game fundamentally is?

There's nothing in DD1 or DD2 that satisfies the kind of thing I got out of Mass Effect 1 or Mass Effect 2:
                >Conversation mechanics
                >Romance options
                >A cool original sci fi plot
                >Cool action-hero moments with a custom protagonist
A lot of this isn't what you get out of whatever RPGs you guys are even comparing it to. I don't get the gamerderps who think of BioWare games in comparison to completely unrelated different subgenres of RPG.

I'm gonna have to agree with this anon.
Especially the cool action moments with custom protagonists.
Stabbing a Dragon in the chest, and sending it crushing down.
                Fighting the Grim Reaper.
                Climbing a Cyclops.
                Chopping the tails of Saurians
Slamming your sword down on a charging flying gryphon.
                So much cool shit.

I get it you want dating sims not video games

I don't disagree on the importance of having in-depth conversations with part members, because it's what makes them feel more alive, and memorable. ME2 and its popularity is a testament on how important that is. But Bioware is content with just having that in game, with some of the worst dialogue in video game history, which is saying something, and calling it a day. At some point, I'd rather not have it, than have it in that bad a state.

It's going to be shit. They fumbled the ending on ME3, ME4 was dogshit, AAA gaming is broken. We need a crash.

      Anonymous

Mac is to blame for ME3's ending. Casey never knew what he was doing narratively, and needed people with talent to push their ideas into his mind and make him believe he came up with them. Mac had the same role but Mac was an untalented butthole who politicked his way into his Lead Writer position, and literally sent christmas presents to Casey, and maybe sucked his dick too.

That's why ME3, and conversely its ending, was dogshit. I get some of you thought 3 was great but I really saw the way it stopped being coherent with the child at the end as a reflection of how the game had already missed several of its own cues and generally seemed aimless despite having strong portrayals of some character moments and dramatic warlike situations. The problems started right at the get-go, continued throughout where you were "waiting" for something to make sense of the weirdness, and then the ending just proved that nothing made sense, by commiting to yet another "seemingly deep" moment akin to the horrible piano music montage in the intro, and stupid dream sequences, and all of that... ALL of that was because they put Mac in charge.
