>(and a spooky time when the sun goes down)
I wish I could experience that mission again for the first time. One of the only times I've ever had an OH SHIT RUN moment in vidya.
If you enjoyed Dead Island, you will enjoy Dying Light. It is that, but with added parkour. It's a fun experience, overall. Also, don't be a pussy, do some exploring at night for double xp.
No, delayed unfortunately. No clue when it's getting released, that being said you can pirate it for free and play it right now.
Jesus Christ is it really that hard to make a competent zombie game.
It's still a dying light game at it's core but some things were changed around from dying light 1 and it didn't feel like it had improved but got worse. The combat feels more floaty and you can't target limbs like in the first game, Dead Island 2 also suffers from this except some weapons are too quiet and you don't really hear any impact or 'feel' it.
worse story, worse AI, worse parkour, bugged saferooms locking you in, faction system that is basically a joke and should have been cut or combined into one thing, grapple hook got nerfed and they rely on the whole 'ugh im becoming zombie' bullshit again but in a different way >apocalypse has occurred 15 years ago >plastic cups and skeletons left out in the open environment are still in the exact same position as they were when everyone had suicide parties >answering machines still work just to spout some bullshit love affair(because we always need some kind of cheating in our media) >ai so bad they have to make them spawn next to you because they can't chase
just generally awful
Don't forget the paraglider. It's like they forgot they were making a parkour game. The second area has high rise buildings and you get a paraglider that legitimately lets you fly when upgraded.
Story inconsistencies, dropped story threads (what the fuck happened with the crystals that people were fuckin dying over at the beginning?)
Volatiles just aren't a threat anymore.
You can tell it got fucked when they fired Avelonne, maybe even before that.
Everything is worse, most of all story.
It's 40 hours of absolute dogshit
One of the worst games I've ever played honestly and DL 1 is my Top 10 of all time
>worse story
Wait, how the fuck could they have achieved that? The story and writing were so terrible in the first game it soured the experience despite the gameplay being great.

Good sir, pardon me for interrupting a pleasant stroll such as the one you were having, but mayhaps you could part with the wisdom that I am seeking? See my trouble, I'm planning on delving into the video game known as "dying light". Though the consensus surrounding the game is that of positivity, I still seek the opinion of you directly, an intellectual, a gamer. The knowledge you have is yours to divulge, you may walk on, and I shall play the game either way and form my own opinion. But let us be men and do as men do. Tell me your opinion on Dying Light.
Whenceforth.
its honestly a solid AA game. but its definitely not a game that you can replay; its only good for ONE playthrough. once you realize all the ways you can break the game, night mode or no, it stops being what was intended and starts being fun only insofar of how much of a power trip you can go on
fine let me rephrase
you can't replay dying light (either 1 or 2) and still keep that great atmosphere of militant survival against zombie menaces who are a legitimate threat. after you've played through it, you have no more fear of the unknown. you know how the zombies work and how they're basically helpless against you, and you know how to even kill or escape the volatiles with minimal effort during night
The virals struggle to keep up because of how long it takes for their jumping animations to go through, i think if you're just on the ground they can keep up but otherwise with the grappling hook and sped up mantling they don't really get a chance. Still, the first time it's night and you are running away is pretty tense, it's a good set up.
It's alright, but it's one of those games where you have to artificially limit yourself to have the most fun. Don't use the Grappling Hook and bow, only use the firearms for the few shootouts in the game.
It's fun, I can't not say that but its mediocre. I enjoyed the first 10+ hours of it, but once you understand the mechanics and how leveling and finding weapons works its kinda dull there's very little buzz to keep you playing because you're not going to find anything except scaled loot or blueprints that are vaguely different to each other. It feels like its more of a game to play with friends than solo, you can enjoy it solo but probably not as much.
Why am I doing so little damage on hard mode? Got legendary weapons, but I still do fuck all damage to volatiles or those big shits. Have I missed something essential here or is it just supposed to be damage spongey?
OP here, still in the tutorial but it triggered my autism the elevator in the tower has a swing door and needed to get that off my chest
Seems fun so far though
Cool atmosphere
The first bunch of nights are tense as fuck
Fun and rewarding parkour system
Best dropckick of all time
Whacking zombies with a shovel is satisfying for the entirety of the game
If you played Dead Island 1 it's just as visceral, but thye managed to avoid the dumb level power creep that forced you to use a lvl 99 flaming chainsaw to deal with basic enemies
Overall best zombie game ever made. If you crave for more the expansion is good as well
The best zombie game
a good time (and a spooky time when the sun goes down)

Worse than Dead Island.
t.bought Dying Light 2
>t.bought Dying Light 2
What exactly makes 2 worse then the first one? I've been considering getting it.
Everything is worse in DL2. Get Dead Island 2 if you want a zombie game.
Is dead island 2 up on pc yet?
Yes, it's been out since April.
>Yes, it's been out since April.
I don't see it on the fag steam store. Don't tell me this shit is region locked, or worse, an epic exclusive.

Why are you saying Jesus Christ if you aren't praying to him or talking about him in an academic fashion?
Because I want to??? Seriously do I need any other reason then this.
it's an expression of frustration

So how's your sex life?
Really fun first couple hours until the novelty of the movement and the dread of night subside.
Kino and a good Switch port, apparently. Praise Chrome Engine
speak proper english and not memetics and I might tell you

good ambient soundtrack, cool parkour moves, boilerplate story
It's alright, but it's one of those games where you have to artificially limit yourself to have the most fun. Don't use the Grappling Hook and bow, only use the firearms for the few shootouts in the game.
It's shit
It's fun, I can't not say that but its mediocre. I hate it until I built the bow, then it got fun.
Why am I doing so little damage on hard mode? Got legendary weapons, but I still do fuck all damage to volatiles or those big shits. Have I missed something essential here or is it just supposed to be damage spongey?
They did something with the damage you need to unlock skills to do some damage.
I've leveled up everything and I still have to hit those volatile cunts like 20 times to kill them
Then I don't know, I know it isn't very good balanced cuz the bow becomes entirely useless by the end.
great game where even mindless jumping around can be fun
shit story, good gameplay
also may ask here, I have $670k, what do I spend it on?
sexy zombies
kino
and a kind of boring 2nd half of the game
fun game. The story is generic slop but the atmosphere is not matched in any other zombie game
OP here, still in the tutorial but it triggered my autism the elevator in the tower has a swing door and needed to get that off my chest
Seems fun so far though
What's wrong with a swing door in an elevator?
Cool atmosphere
