dark corners of the earth was doing so fucking great until they decide to give you a gun.
then it becomes an ok/decent game.
i'm not saying it's a bad game, i played it and i liked it, but it could have been much, much better.
I wish I would have read that series in school, back when I gave a shit to read for fun.
I watched the movie, and it wasn't great (the dragon instantly growing up was laughably retarded) but people act like it's the worst thing ever.
You can still read the books anon. No one is stopping you. The movie also wasn't THAT bad I agree but its mostly carried by Jeremy Irons. The Artemis Fowl movie now that was a steaming pile of shit.
My wife told me today that another book is coming out apparently. I don't even remember much about this series, aside from it being slightly more edgy than other young adult shit. This seems like a big stretch on Ganker for a shill thread lol
Splinter Cell is not based on a book, it's the other way around
The best game based on a book beyond any shadow of a doubt is "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream"
It's been a long fucking time since I've read the books, so some of this might be wrong but >They're all incredibly smart, strong, and beautiful >can easily use magic while humans and other races struggle with it >all of them are basically 100x stronger than the average human >only reason they haven't taken over the entire continent is because they're treefuckers who don't want to leave their forest >their eyesight is so good they can literally SEE ATOMS >they're all fedora-tipping atheists that are written to be superior to other races since they know gods aren't real >protag literally starts transforming into an elf in order to make himself stronger
iirc there's an "afterlife" that's just a complete void where spirits roam, but there's no confirmed gods. The book makes a point to have the elves prove the dwarves' rock god isn't real.
god tier speed, strength, and endurance, mixed with a far greater knowledge of magic than most humans get. and longevity and beauty of course. zero downsides. the protag given OP dragon powers is barely better than an random elf.
Dune II
Betrayal at Krondor

You can add a bunch of Dracula/LoTR/Lovecraft fantasy games depending on how far you stretch the meaning of "based on"
Also Eragon sucks.
It reads like something written by a 15 year old who has only read fantasy novels.
It's clumsily written, has derivative world building and plot points directly copied from more well-known fantasy novels.
I really, REALLY liked how the protagonist gave off INTENSE virgin vibes in the first and part of the second books. The elf girl being visibly disgusted that the equivalent of a monkey was sexually attracted to her was some of the best character writing I've ever suffered through. It was as if the writer himself personally knew that feeling, as if he experienced it himself.
I remember the DS game of this, there was a gameboy game?
Shovelware often was pushed out on every platform imaginable just to reach as many kids as possible.

Read this shit. First book os ok, second starts to fall off, this is complete gargabe leaning too much into anime tropes.

Is Paolini one of us?

Eragon elves might be the most fucking hilariously overpowered versions of elves I've ever seen in any piece of fiction
any example? I've never read the eragon books

are gods really not real in the eragon world? anyway thank you for that qrd, might start reading some
