no game ownership, all games are buggy messes and require you to fix them (for free lol) and games run inexplicably terribly
Enjoy paying $80 for a new game when I play free games that are masterpieces like tf2 or lrd2 you goyim
I have had to fix one game in the past 10 years, and it took me like 5-10 minutes of googling the error code, finding and adjusting a settingm then rebooting. If you're going to criticize PC gaming at least have up to date talking points and don't assume everyone is playing a chromebook
this post is a lie btw
meant for
as opposed to console gaming where you actually own your games, and no games are buggy right?
LOL fucking retard
This is a no ownership cope.
But a lot of console gamers actually do own their games lol
>Valve literally defends not being able to resell your digital copies of games as being the same as selling someone a used toaster
>No game ownership
Lol, lmao even. PC is the piracy master race, doesnt get more 'owned' than that.
Meanwhile in console cuccland
>say word
>game stolen
>diskless console kicked off internet permanently, bricking it
>that'll be $699.99, plus tip
PC piracy is pedestrian and sucks cock and your money is traded for rentals only.
>piracy is pedestrian
I'd prefer all games get kickstarted, best alignment between dev & consumer interests, but piracy is 2nd best & I can support devs by 'renting' as you put it, or buying merch.
v. teenage understanding of economics
>"master race because piracy"
>have to beg a fucking girl to crack every single game
LOL
Like I said, crowdfunding would be better. But I'll happily wait a few weeks for some leet hax0r to uncuck that shit before going to sony or MS and bending over. Or better yet, just not play AAA trash, day 1 crack on GoG/steam releases and the good ones get my $$.
Eventually software's like Windows will be specifically designed to lock out pirates, your time is coming Pajeet
>no game ownership
piracy
piracy doesn't matter, consoles have it too (and it's better there)
You need a low enough PS4 firmware to pirate and it only works on older games until a crack is out. And even then it's playing on a 2013 console.
>(and it's better there)
lol how?
mainstream consoles can directly install torrent clients or DDL and install straight from an executable, out of the box, non-jailbreaked?
i don't think so.
>piracy is owning games
The cuckery is coming full circle lmao. If you don't have your games physically in official releases you own nothing. Piracy is just bootleg.
>Piracy
>post gen 7
What a retard.
>If you don't have your games physically in official releases you own nothing
The goodest goyim.
Nowhere in that post it says you have to pay more than $40 box for the game.
It does however say the kind of thing only a grade A goycattle would say.
>It does however
>If you don't have your games physically in official releases you own nothing.
Where does it say it? i can't find the words sentence "you have to buy them their game" in there.
The part where you believe true ownership™ only comes from DRM locked shekelstien approved copies.
That's you being a retard making assumptions out of ass. Try to be less faggy about it.
No that's your exact belief. Somehow a pirated version is not real™ because it wasn't approved by the publisher. The pirated version can only be better since it's the same game but without the DRM which means you can make as many copies as you want meaning you really do own it.
pirated copies don't matter. Piracy is not platform exclusive. You do not matter if you pirate.
Pirated copies are superior.
>The only thing you own is the media where you put the game data into
And the data itself to do whatever you want with if you pirate.
>And the data itself to do whatever you want with if you pirate.
You didn't acquire the data through official means so no. You just paid the hdd like a good goy only.
>You didn't acquire the data through official means so no
You don't need to. In fact you're better off if you don't acquire it through ""official"" means.
>In fact you're better off if you don't acquire it through ""official"" means.
Now you're getting it; it has nothing to do with being a good goy with your dev/Nvidia overlords.
pirated copies are irrelevant. Now buy your t-shirt to support your dev lol
Pirated copies are just non DRM-cucked versions. What is considered a "pirate copy" should be the default.
>Pirated copies are just non DRM-cucked versions.
Everything has DRM.
You're wrong.
>Says this using internet
What kind of insane false equivalence are you going for?
>he doesn't internet is the biggest drm of all
Piracy is irrelevant.
>The pirated version can only be better since it's the same game
It's not; you have games that were different because piracy. The only thing you own is the media where you put the game data into.
>If you don't have your games physically in official releases you own nothing.
doesn't really apply for new games, considering most are just buying plastic and a digital code/license.
And even a lot of older games, you still have to manually apply patches/fixes.
So piracy in this case, is still better and more convenient.
>doesn't really apply for new games, considering most are just buying plastic
New games barely worth the attention. Piracy is only convenient and convenient isn't good by default.
>If you don't have your games physically in official releases you own nothing.
Physical games are digital games with read-only access. And you can't really read that data except on machines certified by the corporation that scammed you. You can't copy and paste that data, you can't make a backup, the only thing you can do is put that piece of plastic in the DRM-certifying machine and play as long as the machine works, or as long as the media doesn't malfunction (now collectors are discovering that Switch cartridges only need 10 years before the memory starts to degrade).
I bought Tomb Raider on GOG because I was too lazy to pirate it. I can do whatever I want with the data. I can email it to a friend if I want. I copied and pasted the game data onto a flash drive and now I have a working copy that I ran on a PS Classic through an open source port that I leave in my cabin in the middle of nowhere. Consolefags are so illiterate that they don't even understand that this sort of thing is possible when you actually have the data and can manipulate it, rather than relying on a read-only plastic object made to run only in a corporate controlled environment .
Yes, you can. If you pirate anything past PS360 you're effectively the only one to blame.
>piracy
Yeah I sure do love Fitgirl repacks that totally don't have any bitcoin miners in them.
>no game ownership
Imagine not knowing how to copy and paste digital files
PC is normalfag now; cracks are a lost art by now.
>no game ownership
You realize they can still grab you by the balls with physical copies right? As in locking content essential to launching the game behind a day 1 update. There are games that don't do day 1 updates, but I'd wish you luck in finding them, moreso if they're mainstream and recent.
>all games are buggy messes and require you to fix them (for free lol)
One of the most prolific PC products released last year was a handheld Linux PC that primarily plays its games through Windows Emulation. Even if they were as bad as you describe I'd rather have less barriers to mess around with files on my devices, because leaving the games fate to the publishers gives Babylons Fall or Overwatch 1 situations. If taking 3 minutes out of your life to install a mod is hassle to you have some real filtration issues to sort out.
>Games run inexplicably terribly
Going by the OP, it's your own fault for buying an EA game WITH Denuvo in 2023. Stop buying from crappy companies.
>You realize they can still grab you by the balls with physical copies right?
They can't. Entire post is just cope over this fact.
I wish but thanks to digitalfags physical is in its death row. From printing less units (with the only purpose of cucking tards with full price digital) to lowering the quality of the physical media they use for the releases, passing through with whole day 1 patches and beyond. Games are more than dead for the consumer with self-respect.
You should try reading the next sentence anon.
>no game ownership
you dont own games on console either.
That's a lie.
This sounds like cope. My snes games only need a battery changed once in a while.
Why are you lying?
>the post that broke the PC chuds
>no game ownership
No one owns any games. The only physical media you can own and will always be able to own are books.
the constant need that you need to upgrade and FOMO
Having way too many games to play.
The bitches keep wanting my dick but there's only so much of me to go around.
no bloodborne
one day it works great and does exactly what you need. The next day something happened overnight and you now have to troubleshoot for an hour trying to find what went wrong.
I am a PC gamer and I would basically never buy a gaming PC if I couldn't also afford at least one current gen console (switch, ps4, xbox) in that order to compliment it
4k/60fps
>going wide and slow instead of small and fast
1440p/144fps master race
There are no downsides to PC gaming compared to consoles as long as you aren't a brainlet. Maybe not having access to a few console exclusives but the number gets smaller every day, whether through official ports or emulation.
if the top of the line graphics cards can't handle 4k native it might be a good indication that 4k isn't fucking market ready yet and shouldn't be pushed as some kind of standard
you fucking retarded furry there is no game on the market that current cards shouldn't be able to handle at 4k 90fps
the reality is that devs get worse and worse each year and rely on the raw power of moder hardware to fix their shit work
ask yourself if graphical quality has increased proportionally to system requirements
that's nice but you have to work with reality not should-be fantasy worlds and the reality is 4k is not consumer ready
>using the "consumer ready" buzzwords unironically
the "reality" is that as long as developers continue like this 4k will never be "consumer ready", ever
system recs will continue to skyrocket (to sell new nvidia cards) while games will look 5% better and will never run at 4k
Just get a better PC
Pc is harder to optimize for. Square said it themselves and its part of the reason they took Sony's exclusivity deal for FFXVI.
>its part of the reason they took Sony's exclusivity deal for FFXVI.
Wow, I hope their game flops then.
the problem lies not only in the poor optimization, but also that the games run at lower resolution than they appear on consoles
?t=1247
so if a next-gen console like ps5, is compared to a 2060s, and the game is running natively at resolutions lower than full hd, it is obvious that on pc when you want to play at a higher resolution, like 1440p or 4k, there will be problems
those who complain that upscaling techniques, like dlss, fsr or xess are a bad thing, they should see that on consoles it is a common thing
the same happens with dead space remake, the game runs natively at 936p in performance mode and 1296p in quality mode
if next-gen consoles run at those low native resolutions, imagine how demanding it is for a gpu without using upscaling
that or this game is badly made. I'm far away from 4k but I don't doubt it's possible to reach 60fps in other games.
>that or this game is badly made
absolutely all games that are not cross-gen, will run at low resolutions on consoles, especially those that will run natively on UE5
so I wouldn't entirely blame them for being poorly made, when they will be made from the ground up in a demanding way
what this anon says is also right
from 720p we went to 1080p and then we jumped to 2160p (4K) when the logical step would have been to advance to 1440p and then to 4K
yeah I mean the real answer is "it's complicated" but this conversation is really just picking at parts.
Don't care. My 3060 can run the original at 120fps at 1440p
To much freedom. Sometimes someone opens a settings menu and see's words like vsync and anti-aliasing then immediately shit and piss there pants.
how do I change audio automatically when switching from my monitor to my tv via HDMI? I always have to manually switch it and it's annoying.
Are you using HDMI for both your monitor and tv or DP and HDMI
DP from monitor to video card
HDMI from tv to video card
Certain games can be a process to set up at first, especially if you have a nonstandard setup like an ultrawide screen or a non-xinput controller.
>4k
>ultra settings
two memes in a row
who the fuck needs to play at 4k resolution with 8k shadows and 4k textures?
I'll take 1440p high settings at 144hz instead
Raytracing is literally a nvidia scam to sell people with 95 IQ's 2000$ GPUs every 2 years
There is no logical or technical reason why fake lighting needs to be removed from every game for "real" lighting.
You dumbass, they're future proofing the game. You're supposed to buy a $1200 card next year that's the size of your current PC case and uses up 300 more watts to linearly scale up graphics capability and then you'll have 60fps.
The incessant whining of your lessers.
>scaling
incompetent devs
It's intentional. You need to understand that rich people work together to get richer and screw poor people over. They know that 8k is so stupid that no one will buy it so they're milking 4k as much as possible. Notice the lack of 4k ultrawides above 60hz.
i get 120fps at 16k seethe cope
A console and a few games is fine for most people
>but if I get a $3000 pc and pirate like 80+ games, I'm basically getting the thing for free?
Why the fuck do you guys think like this? Just get a handful of games, used or new if you really want them immediately. There's this weird obsession with needing 500 fucking games on pc. Even the people who buy games on steam literally have half of their entire library unplayed
Wasting a computer to play videogames on a glorfied typewriter and laser pointer. Think it carefully because on top of that you'll be dealing with Windows post 7 fucking you over and 60fps -1 can really make a game unplayable in there.
The consoles probably wouln't break the 15 FPS barrier in this situation.
>What are the downside of PC gaming?
devs do the opposite of optimization to make you not only give more money to their partners, they want to take up real estate on your hard drive so you have to just play their game since you have no room for anything else
>4k
PS5 runs this game at 936p without raytrace to reach 60 FPS, so, if you have PC that can actually do 1080p/60, you're better than the PS5
The ps5 is also 500 dollars
Everything really. It gets more expensive to maintain framerates every year and you get a less stable and buggier experience for your trouble.
4K PC Gaming is a fucking meme unless you're literally playing a giant screen tv.
1440p is the sweet spot for desktop monitors and you're better off maximizing higher refresh rates.
Max settings in PC games is just for taking screenshots.
You have to deal with console owners constantly telling you how bad it is. It tastes pretty good when you don't have a bitch telling you it's nasty.
You've always got some little niglet posting garbage like this to rustle people up.
That it ended circa 2006.
I am playing through the Tex Murphy games right now.
>PC can't do 4k 60 ultra
>Consoles can't even do 4k 30 ultra
Hah! Consoles win!
Unironically disable raytracing and you'll get 30 frames back. Its such a shitty feature until, unless they optimize it its not even worth enabling.
Just built my PC white boys I don't play consoles anymore
What should I download?
Give it back, DeShawn.
depending on you.
if you just want to game then
entry cost of a pc is way more expensive for a comparable console experience.
having to fiddle with settings or troubleshooting each new game to try and get the perfect fit for you,
to me, pc gaming is not really worth it, I only ever need office and zoom and my 300 dollar laptop already does that.
I built a pc recently for fighting games and ive been modding my games just because I can but once the honeymoon phase is over it just feels meh .
>What are the downside of PC gaming?
Retarded developers.
Huh? it's holding framerates above 60 here?
Opening sequence there are dips into sub 60 but for the most part it's staying above 60 throughout the majority of the gameplay here. When you're actually in the ship it's in the 100s in fps
This is proof consolefags just lie their asses off all the time on here to try and score points.
>pcfag playing victim
this is a new trick.
not him but, I still don't see you guys admitting that your games don't run at native 4k
>plural
not an argument
>redditor saving face
>mature playerbase
>better controls
>Skill ceiling
>Older playerbase
None of these are true in any way. PChads are now ancient history sadly.
OP's image is a thing spammed by consolefags on here (probably sony morons). It's not the first time this thread has been made. And it's based off misconceptions of how this game runs. Throughout the majority of the time you're getting high framerate on an rtx 4090 with this game. Visually i would say the remake looks the part as well to add that kind of demand. The console versions are identical to pc high settings, except for the fact that the console versions run in a lower resolution in Quality Mode with ray tracing at 30FPS. So when you retards say there is a draw back, it's not true. You're playing the lesser version of the game. It doesn't look as good.
>It doesn't look as good.
>PC fags only care about graphix
Nice post and all but... is the game any good or a good remake even?
It's a fine remake if you're ignoring the whole 'woke space' stuff i guess.
So another maybe perfectly fine game some retard needed to shove needless shit into it fucking it over with the most retarded shit possible?
Okay and how does it run/look on xbox or ps?
Consoles aren’t magic anon.
here anon
they complain that a pc can't run the game at native 4k and over 60 fps, when their consoles don't even reach 1080p
The ps5 can't run the game st 30fps 4k
>AHH NO CONSOLES ARE HOLDING GAMING BACK
>The most powerful GPU can't run a 2023 game
PC trannies lost, AGAIN
retard
>AHH NO CONSOLES ARE HOLDING GAMING BACK
Consolegaming has been holding everything back, the best example is making games like Crysis is not profitable in this day and age. Being ambitious with tech is too risky. Look at what happened with Kingdom Come Deliverance back during last gen. The developers downgraded the fuck out of it for consoles. Compare the beta to the finished product, they did this because it would have never ran at acceptable framerates on xbox one and ps4
>Hey have you tried the latest Nintendo/Sony game?
No I own a PC
>You should totally try them
Can't wait for the PC port/emulated version to get a 7
what happens when you turn off motion blur, film grain and the 17 other useless settings?
These kinds of scenes are the most visually demanding stuff, and you're usually sitting above 60 when it happens on an rtx 4090 at 4k with everything maxed out.
looks and runs the same on my sexbox. what now, choom?
I don't know where the meme of physical = ownership comes from. Since 2007ish, games have been moved into licenses universally. PC is not the only platform that operates off of a license basis. They can literally revoke your ability to play games you're running off of disks.
>Selling point of RTX cards is RTX
>None of them, even the 4090, can manage RTX and keep stable frames
So how many generations away are we from RTX actually being usable in games?
>So how many generations away are we from RTX actually being usable in games?
Probably at least 4.
We are now beholden to whatever garbage that Microsoft throws out for their OS. Followed by the CPU and motherboard changing their sockets thereby forcing you to buy both as opposed to a straightforward replacement of either one.
Companies punishing you for not being a pirate by putting denuvo on their games
meanwhile pirates get denuvo-free games
I remember a time, where games were made for PC. Where developers put time and effort into making it run smoothly even on shit boxes. Where they created an atmosphere that was dense and fitted the game. Where lighting was a tool for immersion. Where keyboard and mouse were the main control scheme. Where consoles were a secondary market and games were ported over from the PC version.
lmao consolemorons are pathetic, do any of you even bother to read the article? This shit was reposted in almost every site and in every single one of them they explain that literally, and i mean LITERALLY the game on dips to 50 FPS during the mot demanding scenes, that's right, the fucking ship explosions and all that? PC can handle that with maxed settings, gay-tracing and 4K, meanwhile consolows can't even run on medium past 1080p and 30fps, while i do agree that most of this is uselles and used by garden gnomevidia to sell cards it still holds up.
