        99% of devs don't know how to implement it, so it ends up looking blurry as shit

        Blurry ghosting shit.

        d44m is the only game I know that has good TAA

          >99% of devs don't know how to implement it
          Well the only "correct" way to implement TAA is to create an algorithm to track pixel motion and deviation so it can selectively turn off TAA for a portion of the screen.
          And IMO, if the only way to make a filter look good is to turn it off then it sure seems like your filter is fundamentally broken.

    With 4K AA isn't needed.

    MSAA = SSAA > No AA > Post-processing AA

      MSAA is not as good as SSAA, so how can it be equal?

        MSAA is optimized SSAA.

    Isn't it weird that people obsess over AA methods in 3D games, trying to eradicate any and all pixelation. Yet when they play 2D games they want everything to be as pixelated as possible, completely going against how pixel art is supposed to be displayed.

    • 1 year ago

      pixel art hasn't been meant to do that for over a decade

      3D graphics aren't supposed to be pixelated. Polygons use vectors which don't have a resolution.

      Also I don't know who you're talking about. All I see are people shitting on sharp pixels and jerking off to CRTs/shaders.

    turning AA off and instead increasing the resolution.
    Much better solution.

    AA is outdated because everyone uses a 4k monitor now. I turn off AA or use DLSS if available.

    I've always been such a systemlet that decades into hd gaming I still have no idea what any of these things mean. Rocking 8 gigs now, for example and a 10 something.

        Company of Heroes and then Halo MCC, the latter looked like shit but I'm playing it on a series s now and it looks pretty good, considering it's age.
