      >FRICK this games boss fights.
This is one of the major flaws. They require you to use items to stop them completely or even do damage, otherwise you keep getting stunlocked when they move around. That, and the awful padding. A solid 7 at the end when they finished the DLC. I didn't care to triple dip, so the Wii U version was all I needed, moreso since they didn't add any new characters with the Switch game.

          That's why it's good.

Real answer: FEW movesets are fun as frick, allies can actually fight competently, Pair Up coupled with ally switching turns it into a fantastic fusion of Chronicles and Orochi gameplay, and the History Mode bosses are a lot better than the Adventure Mode bosses.

That said, in regards to HW: top 5 favorite movesets (or characters if they only have one moveset) to play as? Mine are:
              >1. Great Sword (Ganondorf)
              >2. Picture Frame (Yuga)
              >3. Rental Hammer (Ravio)

                >3. Trident (Ganondorf)
                >4. Book of Sorcery (Lana)

summoning gate? really? never heard of anyone using that willingly except to do the rupee glitch in the wii u version

                Anonymous

The powered up versions of summons are all great, and the randomness in what gets powered up gives you incentive to switch up your attacks, which helps a lot with the monotony of musou.
Being one of the best giant boss killers is also a huge selling point, spending less time on those improves the game massively.

I wish the AI was better. Most of the time your ally commanders would just sit there and die if you didn't come to their aid. The one thing FEW did well is that I could direct allies to defend a post where they would be closer to. As long as they had an advantage they could do it on their own without my help. Most Musou games make you do everything.

If you're a Zelda fan, it has tons of fanservice, from characters to movesets to costumes to weapons to music to maps and levels.
Plot is crap, gameplay is like a skeleton of something good but mostly flawed, content is stuff made to last ~50 hours being extended to last 3000 hours.
I recommend it if you're a Zelda fan to check the characters out and enjoy the remixes and such. I'm playing it while doing stationary bike at my living room daily, I think I'll 100% it, but it's extremely reused content and shallow gameplay.

Be warned that no matter how much fanservice there is, musou is musou and that means you're going to be repeating a LOT of stuff. Not grinding the same stage for the same materials, at least, but you'll play every map hundreds of times in hundreds of SLIGHTLY different contexts.
That said, I still liked it a fair bit and the campaign was just plain unequivocally fun.

even though AoC has QoL improvements I prefer the original, it's just full of fan service of the entire franchise in a fun story. AoC tries too hard to fit in continuity of botw which gives us a boring character roster and story. worst of all it can't even be canon since the good guys win...
if it was never going to be canon might as well add more fun characteres into the timeline...

AoC improves on combat and enemy AI but feels like a step back in nearly everything else. Great as a boss rush game, less so as a musou.

I like Lynels etc. not flinching normally so there's some actual back-and-forth instead of slapping officers against a wall for a minute like in HW, but WPG reveals really should've allowed for launches and juggles instead of being a crumple. Especially lategame when you have enough attack speed to chain C6 crumples on half the cast, there's no 1v1 interactivity at that point.

when you finally get their meter down, you should be able to knock them around.
