Early game is fun after you grind to a decent point but once your squad becomes too good it becomes much less fun when you know you can steamroll everything
i love this piece of shit, easily one of the games ive enjoyed most from recent years
i knew it was a development and optimisation trainwreck but was surprised how bad replayability and mods are
to be honest no, none that spring to mind - thats why im surprised. theres probably a couple of bugfix mods, and i know theres xp adjustment mods if you want to grind
nta but >5x or 3x attack slot (I prefer 5)
Makes it so numbers count and so that one skilled martial artist won't just absolutely decimate an entire army by themselves unless that's what you want >SCAR's pathfinding fix and Limb Fix
You'll thank me for the former when you're in the swamps and the latter will save you the headache of having to check which leg or arm a prosthetic is for. >Reactive World
You really won't feel this unless you start to fuck around with the world, but at least when you do you'll actually feel it.
Avoid: >Genesis
A compilation of good stuff and absolute fucking garbage. Anything worthwhile in it can be acquired without the whole package.
There's a mod out there that adds a group of screaming bandits that run around in the deadlands, and every time you encounter them, you can hear autistic screeching. 10/10
Also, you can do a Guts cosplay with surprising accuracy in this game.
And did I mention [s]the weird group of human skeletons who become human by peeling skin and meat off people in a special contraption?
They're not a mod[/s]
Favourite game, never thought it would happen that an indie game would actually manage to fill that spot.
I just hope that the sequel comes out sooner than later, so we can get overhauls for different settings. I could play this gameplay forever, I make my own goals, I just need more worlds for varietys sake.
It's not exactly the game I'm interested in, but I liked its supposed history, which was completely ignored at launch but people kept talking about it and slowly (several years) the game spread and became an indie hit. At least that's what I was told happened, I don't even know if it's true.
it was ignored at launch because it was EA for a decade and almost broken at several points. Now that modding and stability have arrived its become availiable to be discussed at length without it mainly being about the poor quality
>you get your toughness higher by getting knocked out >it raises quicker if you get up with enemies still around
your best bet is wandering around like a scared dog until you find a free companion- load them up with healing supplies or a bed and get your shit slapped so they can run in, pick you up and run away to safety to heal you up. you can do this until you learn the game or die
A good way to train up your strength is to find the body of an animal or some shitty npc (rebel farmers, bandits, etc) carry them on your shoulders and then go find some local friendly/neutral NPC patrol. >Are you a greenlander?
Go to the Holy Nation (west), find a patrol and just follow them (as in: right click - Follow) while carrying the body. They will keep you safe in case some shit goes down and they may even randomly give you free food. >Not a greenlander
Best bet is finding some wandering trader, bounty hunters or tech hunter and follow them. You might want to try your hand at following Samurai patrols if you're in the United Empire territory (northeast) but they won't give a shit when Manhunters jump you.
Do note though: Don't reload if you get enslaved. If you play your cards right it might be good toughness training because they might beat the shit out of your when you rebel but they'll likely heal you afterwards too.
It's a huge mess. Most training felt like exploits or tedious. Felt like there wasn't a comfortable middle ground for training skills. Even the super time consuming stuff can be made super easy. I didn't mind lack of quests and story. The world is interesting, the random enemy factions are cool, but the game play itself gets stale pretty quickly.
I understand part of the game is having to level up multiple characters but if I didn't have fun leveling up that first character, what is gonna make me wanna repeat that over for multi squads?
shit game shilled by retards
if dubs bad luck for a week for everyone itt but me
dumb newfag
Fun once or twice but then it becomes a slog.
Kind of neat, has that old school soul, but doesn't feel finished and runs poorly.
i love the atmosphere and concept but after about 10-20 hours of playing theres really nothing new to do. im excited for 2 regardless.
i always burn myself out trying to train my guys up to become super soldiers because of how tedious strength training is
Book of the New Sun of gaming.
This but unironically.
If Kenshi is BotNS of gaming and Morrowind is Dying Earth of gaming, what's Wizard/Knight of gaming?
Riven
I really hate not being able to conquer the world and become its god-emperor
So much for "become a warlord"
Best atmosphere of any game
Painfully unfinished
Chris you lazy fucking bastard

refuse to play because no steam achievements
Simultaneously the best and worst game I’ve ever played
For me, that would be Outward but Kenshi is definitely up there too.
awesome game, played 120 hours in 2 weeks and totally demolished everything in the game. game made me for 2 weeks straight an addict.

Are there any mods in particular that you recommend?

Great world and lore, okay combat, shit boring game.
I hate training my character
Why?
I don't want to be reminded of my life
pay someone stronger to babysit you until you grow up big and strong, its what all warrior cultures do
and buttsex
if youre into that, i hear we have some rudimentary mods for it
sovl
Pretty good timesink
I enjoy starting at the desert without an arm the most
The holy nation is extremely based they hate black people, robots, and women. Ted Kaczynski tier

I want to like it , but got filtered hard. I should really just watch a basics guide
What exactly are you having trouble with?
the basics , just getting started Im a literal boomer so some of the basics are a little hard to understand

Equal partnership, payment for services etc- you dont call regular personal trainer appointments abuse

This, any game that encourages you to grind skills isn't worth my time (see Mortal Online 2).
