I guess his "capitalism" problem is that his supervisors need to always see green arrows go up all the time, otherwise he is not doing his job right.
Spencer, instead of doing some necessary sacrifices for the brand by spending all these money to fund AA studios to makes exclusives, he just decided to buy shit companies because these kinds of big spender acquisitions draw attention

They thought that gamers and people who buy and play games recreationally are cattle or livestock you can feed anything to. Hell, even lifestock owners don't feed just about anything to the animals, but microshart and company thought of their customer base as even lower than lifestock, hence the last decade of true slop they fed them.

The chickens have come home to roost and these cretins who masqueraded as "gamers" while spitting in the faces of their customers will pay their dues in the form of bankruptcies, losing their jobs and the partial, if not complete collapse of the western games industry in the coming years.

Tech companies are a special breed. All of them, large cap and micro cap, have the majority of their stock value derived from assumptions about future earning potential. Yes, it's fricking moronic, because no, Facebook etc will not exponentially increase revenue year on year for several decades.

So the moment there's a suggestion against this constant upward swing, stock prices take a disproportionate hit. Well, it appears disproportionate, but that's because these companies are all overvalued because of rose-tinted assumptions and growth.

See, this is the problem with the current stock market. In defense of Phil, I’m sure he gets from higher up’s, the Board and investors that “WE HAVE TO GROW!!!”. No, there is nothing wrong with a stock that has a consistent return and pays a dividend. In fact, that use to be the norms in Economics. It was assumed you’d eventually plateau.

Just put wow on xbox and bundle the sub with gamepass ultimate and you win, it's not hard. The Xbox is already stronger than 80% of peoples PCs. There's a massive e untapped market of people too depressed and apathetic to build a PC but would like to upgrade to a system that would let them play PC games, they just want to spend a flat amount and buy a product off the shelf. Make the next xbox console a console version of the Steam Deck with windows and steam on it and make the keyboard and mouse a dedicated peripheral.

Sure they will. Most people have GPUs weaker than a 1080. They "could" upgrade but that would require effort. Or they could buy Microsoft pre-built PC-box and play the game at 120fps max settings even in raids and never worry about it.

      >windows and steam on it
Ain't gonna happen since that means losing control of the money flow that they take a cut from, which is the very foundation of the entire console business. They even sell hardware at a loss or at razor-thin margins in order to keep the price down JUST because they take a cut of every transaction that happens on the platform. If they just put Windows on the thing and allow you to install games from Steam or wherever else then the money no longer flows through MS and they no longer take a cut, therefore this will never happen, at least not unless the hardware becomes 2x more expensive or something. At that point you can just buy an actual PC though.

Every time MS buys a studio, they do nothing with it, then it crashes and the people leave.
Or they make one spinoff title from a franchise they now own, and it fricking sucks, then the studio closes.
    Every single time.

That's because they're not buying studios. They're buying IPs. The long-term plan has nothing to do with video games; they want more TV shows, movies, literally anything *but* video games that they can market to wider audiences and try to suck money out of. Once you realize this it all makes sense.

I'm not saying they've thought it through, just that it's clearly their plan. And who knows, maybe that's fine for them. I mean look at the Halo show: total trainwreck for fans of the games but non-gamers seem to love it. The Fallout show will almost certainly end up the same way, and now that Todd has his grubby little hands in television you can bet he's going to want to help pimp out more Bethesda/Zenimax franchises too. I can't think of a single example in the video game industry of self sabotage greater than Xbox's E3 2012. At least Sega's fricklups were honest efforts instead of just outright shooting themselves in the foot.

In a planned economy he'd be working in the mines. The Xbox executive team all secretly long for the mines. Their business moves suggest they want to fail.

Somehow game developers gained an arrogance and entitlement unlike anything seen in a creative industry, they think their job is to make what they want and are owed success just because they are so great. Gamers aren't buying games? Something must be wrong with them. No no you don't want videogamey videogames and TnA, trust me, the annointed. Only I can decide what is right for videogames.
