i would completely avoid reusing older pokemon as a crutch to make """""new""""" designs
also, this could have been a great chance to revisit the wooly mammoth concept but no GF would rather not put in the effort to make a new design
>remixing the old, superior designs
you mean ruining them? >nu-pokemon garbage
i hate gen 6+ designs just as much as they next guy but i would rather they at least TRY to make a new design, some designs like Dragapault and Dracovish can be pretty good even if they're the minority.
How the fuck do they ruin them? Great Tusk is a seperate pokemon entirely from Donphan. Even if you hate Great Tusk, Donphan is still there, unchanged entirely.
First off, they do a great job at being a base line Pokemon, in that they almost all look like some sort of battle monster. If a Pokemon can achieve that at the very least, I'm usually happy.
Secondly, they're dinosaurs and robots, in very mysterious sense, which is just.. really cool to me. I'm perfectly fine with all the future mons just being robots too, only thing that bums me out there is that so many of them are small.
Thirdly, I'm extremely happy that Great Tusk serves a function similar to Lando. I dont hate Lando, but I'm sick of seeing it after so many years, and Great Tusk looks way the fuck cooler. Definitely became one of my favorites.
Part of the trend behind Paradox pokemon, is that their types are intentionally bizarre in a lot of instances.
They always take one of the original mon's types as their own (with the only exception being Iron Valiant, and POSSIBLY Roaring Moon if you subscribe to the Hydreigon theory), and add a new secondary typing. Sometimes the base typing no longer makes much sense, like Rock with Iron Thorns, sometimes the new typing is super lose at best like with Slither Wings or Iron Bundle. I'd say a good half of the Paradox mons have anywhere from slightly-to-very odd typings. Notably, despite being all literal robots, only 1 of the future Paradox mons is even a Steel type.
That, in addition to a number of other oddities (Strange pokemon choices, uneven design selections between and in both groups, some being NFE mon, pokemon being connected to dinosaurs in ways that dont make sense, the strangeness of Area Zero, etc...) all add up to give the group a bit of an otherworldly feel.
great tusk sexo
in seriousness i like them a lot, collectively
a lot of the reasoning here is applicable, and I'd like to point out something amusing in that Iron Valiant was supposedly created to be the ultimate Psychic-type... and isn't a Psychic-type at all.

>I like dinosaurs
they look nothing like dinosaurs, except walking wake
instead, they slap skin teeth and spikes or some other ugly neon shape on it
why does an elephant or a mushroom have sharp teeth? what does it need them for? walking wake is meant to look like an animal that actually does have sharp teeth so it actually works there
this is part of why paradox mons suck
Literally designed from the mind of a child, which is the whole point. There is only so much you can do with the imagination of the young professors reading a book.
Scarlet Paradox Pokemon are great in concept (and mostly execution). Caveman/Dinosaur/Pre-Historic Versions of Pokemon, simple concept that comes through fairly clearly in their designs.
Violet Pokemon are very boring as a concept, but they did okay in execution. Basically just advanced robot versions of Pokemon, which doesn’t feel like an natural progression of what long term evolution would do to Pokemon. Also raises the question of what happens in the future to make everything robots.
Miraidon does make the better bike than Koraidon does though.
I like them but at the same time i dont like new forms just being just better version of old pokemon and supplanting them. Theres always been a suggestion for Mismagius to be ghost/fairy but now even if that happened its outclassed by flutter mane with those crazy stats.
I like Wing and Wake from the past group, and Bundle and Valiant from the future group. The rest are pretty boring, and they make me wish GF had done more interesting speculative evolution designs than just “pokemon but theropod/robot” for literally every single one.
I like them. The future ones feel like a lot of wasted potential, but the past ones make up for it imho.
>LET'S SLAP PINK SPIKES ON DONPHAN AND PRETEND IT'S AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT POKEMON!!!
paradox mons were a mistake
how would you design it, anon?

what can I say except the n word (ngmi)

> revisit the wooly mammoth concept
We already have one, and it’s design would be hard to top, especially with whatever retards they have designing Pokémon these days.
mamoswine looks nothing like a wooly mammoth
they could totally revisit the concept
I really like Roaring Moon and Walking Wake a lot. For future Paradox mons I like Iron Hands.
But I feel weird about Iron Jugulis, why is it not a Dragon type? It looks WAY less dark than Hydreigon.
One of my favorite new types of Pokemon.

it looks like a low-poly Hydreigon, of course it’s Dark, Hydreigon is edgy as fuck
dumb namefag
All cool except Great Tusk who's an abomination to look at.
The imagination thing breaks Pokémon. It's a literally a Digimon thing
>prehistoric paradox pokemon
>no fossils anywhere
Imagination land shit
I mean, they're called paradoxes. They shouldn't exist
I like them, but it is hard to get invested in them when they will inevitably be thrown away.
Great Tusk is easily the Greatest designed Pokemon from the Switch games.
>Verification not required.
fukken saved
somewhat based
>Dracovish
>Dragapult
lmao
I like robots. I like dinosaurs. They're cool.

For the most part, I like them. I wish the future paradoxes didn't have shitty names but other than that they're good.
