Doesn't matter since you have to adjust the os mouse speed too, then every game has its own sensitivity. Why isn't it standardized?

      Anonymous

the standard is to just measure the amount of travel your mouse does on your pad to do a 360 degree turn.
once you measure that you can just change the number in-game until you get your preferred distance.

      >then every game has its own sensitivity. Why isn't it standardized?
Yeah, should have been. That's why it was nice playing all those Quake engine based games.

Anyways, if the game isn't on Mouse-Sensitivity to calculate, use this https://www.kovaak.com/sensitivity-matcher/

      >1600 shown to have way less delay than 800
      >people still choose to play on 800 and even 400
Explain this to me. I feel like difference is pretty noticeable swapping back and forth in most games

I asked in multiple CS threads
        >Is there difference between DPI 400 MS 2, DPI 800 MS 1, and DPI 1600 MS 0.5
        All of them said "No"
If you have any info please share.

          not really related
but in some older games having a high pollingrate or dpi caused problems afaik

I doubt it has much difference nowadays,
but in theory having super high dpi but set to low sensitivity will give you the most granular control over your actual irl mouse movements
the point of diminishing returns where this will have a noticeable impact I don't know

Theres no difference. I switched to 1600dpi because 800dpi on desktop uaage is a pain.

the best gaming mouse ive ever had was an hp office mouse. shit died last year after a decade. genuinly mind boggling to me that people pay $100 dollars for these giant heavy piece of shit mice. these no skill toddler tier motor control gays thinking a mouse is going to suddenly make them good. these companies really have a chokehold on these shitters

For me it's the 20€ microsoft comfort mouse from the local grocery store. Sure they break after just 2 years of heavy use but I can always walk there and grab another one.

        This.
        1400 dpi, QHD screen
Can rest my hand on the table and just throw the mouse around in my palm with my fingers.
Just need to keep the precise pointer in windows enabled, else the cursor jitters too much.

If i'm railing people from very away I'll switch to wrist sometimes.
I'm not a great sniper/rail guy. My setup is more catered to very short/mid range.
Rail heavy games get boring imo. Just a lot of waiting, then shooting once, then leaving.

whatever gives my musclememory the same in game rotation when i flick my arm right and left to "this should translate to 90 degrees and 180 degrees"
I do it on feel. But game I play more often are probably way more finetuned that others.
Unreal i have different sensitivities because the sidedodging requires me to move my mouse in very specific angles often in 2k4. But that isn't necessarily fitting for the amount of long-distance hitscan stuff you do in those games. But I make do.

I think it's like 2700 or something around there. I just know it's enough to go end to end on my 32" monitor within a comfortable movement range (about 1") while still maintaining precision. Polling rate 500.

1600 just for some performance improvements over 800, but i slow the sens down in windows so it feels like 800.
