What platform should a new dev start on? There are probably more potenial paypigs with Patreon accounts, but also the risk of losing everything if some garden gnome reports me to weed out competition.
It's still far easier/faster to grow on patreon. Best I would do is have both accounts and keep em going till whether patreon decides to nuke you (or if you do entirely non TOS breaking content then its fine to just go patreon).

From the previews that I've seen, the 'definitive edition' of Roundscape is a downgrade from the earlier artworks, when it was consistent. I'm guessing the dev fell off with the original artist and started hiring artists from the street with a promise of a burger or something
