Supposedly yes. There are going to be a few more updates though and I really have to give them credit for Iga taking the time to bring ALL the stretch goal stuff into the game for FREE instead of making it DLC shit like a lot of shitty devs would do because it has taken all this time.
There's at least one or two more big updates. All of pic related has been put into the game except the last 2 updates, which will be the first ones that are actually (probably inexpensive) DLC. One is premium costumes and shit including sexy ones for Miriam which is neat but meh, but the other mode listed is basically Classic Mode 2 which is literally a Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest style game starring Dominique
Both are showing up this year. After that, I'm told they're pushing through on Bloodstained RotN2 ; a little disappointed, I kinda wanted playable Gebel alternate quest shit but oveall the game is solid and there's been LOTS of expansions to the base game since launch
They're working on it, but the kickstarter shit and him delivering on it was based. He could have done like most did and decided to make each content update a $10 DLC if it was more than a single outfit or something, but he didn't. Not like they didn't do really well crowdfunding it and take millions, one of the highest KS at the time for a single player game so I can respect them delivering on what was promised in most cases (they fucked over Linux native, but Valve pulled their ass from the fire with Proton at least in terms of parity functionality, still this is on 505 fucking up 2 years into development post KS).. Wouldn't have taken nearly as long if it wasn't for Covid fucking over 505 and in fact Iga is not going with 505 next time because he felt they dragged their feet, its said. All in all though, I more than got my money's worth and more out of it and I'd back another given how well he did overall.
Did you like Symphony of the Night or similar "metroidvania" castlevanias? If so, its definitely a good option - it was good at launch, but they've taken the time to make it really great in the updates since with tons of stretch goal content and shit, alternate modes, and more. Notall was perfect (I'm a bit salty about the 3rd main playable character being a guest from Ubi's Child of Light, it should have been an original. Guest characters and secret areas from other games are fine too, but that should have been a unique char ) but a lot of it was great. There were lots of collabs that expanded the castle with new bosses (one on Kingdom New Lands, Chld of Light, Journey etc... all of which are not in the 100/200%'ing requirements,) and new stuff like the varying Classic Mode (classicvania style, including a 1989 mode for it which is a secret harder version ) , playable bosses and a boss-revenge mode (play as bosses in a boss rush against the good guys etc) and more. Definitely worthwhile if you like metroidvanias or just if you like dressing Miriam up in outfits (they had no lack of sexy ones too)
There's also the Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon side games 1 and 2 which are IntiCreates developed classicvanias (very close to CV3, switchable chars etc) with pixel art that take place in an alternate reality to RotN, both VERy well done.
alright thanks, it's even on sale right now so i'll check it out

i really really did not care for this game
it looks and feels cheap
i played every ps1/gba/ds title to death but this spinoff is ass
the nes-styled one was very good though, the meme-spinoff
I hope Bloodstained 2 comes out in my lifetime.
No other "metroidvania" scratches the same itch igarashi's stuff does. I don't care about your flashy movement techs, I don't care about your dark souls combat, I don't care about your artstyle.
I want numbers to make bigger, goofy monsters, hundreds of items and weapons to find, lots of spells and abilities, and the charm and soul of these games.
Hollow knight, blasphemous, and all these other whatever you call them did more damage to the pseudo genre than aid.
I respect your opinion because I also feel like Igavanias have their own distinct texture separate from most indie metroidvania design, I just personally feel they're typically a dysfunctional mismash of bloated RPG stats and fiddly platforming with some of the worst map design possible in a 2D game. I'm glad they're for somebody because it's not me. Goddamn have I tried though.
Completely agree, honestly. I got to O&S and if I hadn't gotten stuck in Ash lake due to the basilisks and the fucking branch collision issues I might've plodded through, but I can't stand fromsoft's designs. I enjoy a lot of dogshit soulslikes like The Surge 2 or Asterigos but fromsoft doesn't do it for me. Demon Souls was fine I suppose, and Bloodborne at least had some interesting design decisions but overall? Not my speed.
Funnily the lords of shadow games are a fascinating look at what 3D metroidvanias could've been because it was a contemporary to dark souls and wasn't influenced by its combat or world design. The second game is quite a bit worse even though it's mechanically smoother, but they're both really interesting on a systems level. Pretty fun to hit buttons in as well and shockingly good voice acting.
Those don't convey the feeling that you're getting more powerful as well as Igavanias do. In Igavanias, you go from feeling pretty weak and vulnerable to feeling like a god.
I think there's a bunch of anons confused about which anons they're talking to between different reply chains. I liked Hollow Knight quite a bit, need to actually replay it though.

For fucks sake make a sequel already with none of that kickstarter shit.

It is if you liked Symphony of the Night.

This is how I feel about Dark Souls (inb4get gud. I quit at Blighttown.)

>"This isn't technically a platforming game"
>"Actually it is. Get gud scrub. Stop rolling"
Got on my nerves. I love metroidvanias though.

yea theyre on my wishlist.
I like Igavanias more than anything else in the genre but I also really enjoyed Hollow Knight. Only having 1 weapon is lame though.
Those don't convey the feeling that you're getting more powerful as well as Igavanias do. In Igavanias, you go from feeling pretty weak and vulnerable to feeling like a god.
I'd rather that feeling of power come from system mastery and new tools rather than just bigger number and bigger attack arc
Ok? So play games where that's the case.
That's what hollow knight does, though.
I think there's a bunch of anons confused about which anons they're talking to between different reply chains. I liked Hollow Knight quite a bit, need to actually replay it though.
