The name of the game isn't to make these companies pander to your will, it's to find the state of mind needed to truly not care what they do. You can't fix them.

it doesn't work when the game developer and publisher itself spends another million dollars to buy it's own product using proxies to artificially inflate hype.

      this.
the main issue is young kids. be it parents blindly buying their kid a game to shut them up for a bit or giving them acces to their credit card, allowing them to make all the impulse-oriented transactions they can. this ensures a secure cash flow, even when 30-year-old neck beards stop spending thousands on games and merch.

Don't buy, don't play (This includes no pirating. They still use that to gauge overall interest), and actually explain how something is bad.
Ignore morons who try to turn any criticism into overreacting shitposting in an attempt to make people who criticize the game look bad (falseflagging is a crucial part of viral marketing).

what we have right now is people without drive, games as a service are riddled with exploits and vulnerabilities

Play a better game. Literally having a blast with fricking Vandal Hearts from 1997. You lazy bums have decades of excellent games before you. It's OK to not go for the AAA experience you bums.

I've only bought a handful of games in the past years. Most of the things I play are not new. The newest games I got were Sekiro, Yakuza games and Elden ring. Everything else I don't really care for. I MIGHT buy DMC 5, when it's at a comfortable price.

once again you are not the target audience
there are people out there who care about AAA games
          who care about MMOs

as much as I'd love for them to never have anything good ever again just to satisfy my petty sense of superiority I still believe those game genres deserve to be good too

An mmo is a flawed concept, bud. It worked at one point because as WoW was catching on almost no one knew what was at the end of the rainbow. Well, now we know. There's nothing. We've asked and answered the question of "what if the game never ends?"

Sure you can focus on pvp but imagine all that bloat to play pvp when other options exist that cut out the gayness of WoW. You're chasing the dragon and the problem isn't with the industry.

As an outside person, a lot of what I've heard of it makes it sounds more like it just needs to end for its own sake, rather than go on forever. Permanence and the status quo are not always a good thing. Sometimes it's time to call it a day and let it rest. But this is just an outsider opinion.

            >I still believe those game genres deserve to be good too
That's the real end goal. Things you can appreciate for their quality, but don't necessarily enjoy yourself. I can't stand CoD or WoW, but I would rather them become excellent at what they do, than have them disappear.
Of course there's a limit, physical quality doesn't always make something good when it's internally disgusting.

Wait for Disney to frick up something in a way that's identical to a thing you hate.
Post a lot about it on social media and hope it gets picked up on a slow news cycle and ends up leading to legislation.
      Consoomers need their starwars.
Literally the only good thing to come from megacorporations absorbing intellectual property and extending its duration is that it is a beacon that attracts consoomer attention and those consoomers can be indiscriminately used against them.

An effective collapse of the entertainment industry will only arrive if copyright duration gets nuked back to 10-20 years.

Also this. The dumb "Death of a hobby" images wherein the creators leave only really work if you can actually just fork your hobby and aren't beholden to a corporation.

Write reviews and honest genuine commentary about shit in the game.
Make memes to ridicule shit in the game.
Make video material pointing ofut the homosexualry and cancer in a game.
Make mods fixing or remedying some problems in the game.
make a new game in the same genre that fricks over the mega corporation like Path of exile fricked over Blizz.

And never give money to homosexuals and israelites.

There is no effective way. Modern media is set up so it's practically impossible to fail. Nothing you could ever do will stop companies from implementing garbage, because the truth of the matter is that it's gone through 20 think tanks and they have it down to a science to make sure it is as accessible as possible. You leave and 20 morons take your place.

The entire reason Twitch continues to exist is because companies prop it up so "real gaymers" (paid advertisers) can shill for these trash games. It's almost an entirely new estate and arm of the government now that the current administration has contracted social media stars to shill for their programs.
