The combat is good, but It takes like 40 hours for all combat options to be unlocked. The game starts with real barebones options

The story is extremelly confusing and told without context, you will not understand a thing. It's unironically the kind of story you benefit from getting spoiled about the lore, because without context, nothing really makes sense, such is why ppl who play for the first time hate it, and those crazy enough to play for a second time (like me) love the characters and the world

Extremely linear does not fully describe it. You might break your joystick thumb from pressing upwards too much in this game

All that aside, I actually recommend playing it, because XIII-2 is a fricking masterpiece, and Lightning Returns is also really fun

Its combat plays exactly like classic RE, it rewards replays, its endlessly quotable, and the environments are very good looking much the same way echonights environments look.

Resident Evil 6. The gameplay rewards skill with more fun gameplay. Basically the game becomes more fun if you're more skilled at it. It's theoretically possible to beat the game without taking a single hit as every enemy attack is dodgeable or counterable. Not big surprise why so many people were filtered by the "unfun gameplay".
Chris' campaign can eat shit though. Those J'avos are not fun to fight

"Worst" based on what? If we go by aggregate review scores, then it'd be Twisted Metal III. I loved it as a kid and I rented all the others because I liked it so much. Well, if I enjoyed it, then it can't be bad, since the whole point of a game is to have fun and that's what it's doing.

And no, something can't be subjectively x and objectively y. That's a meme. What you mean to say is YOU think it's x, while OTHER PEOPLE think it's y. That's relative and universal, not subjective and objective. There's no such thing as objectivity in fun since fun only exists within subjects.

DoW 3 was so terrible it basically killed that part of the franchise but honestly? it was "mid". not terrible. not bad. I thought DoW 2 was worse because I just did not like the small-squad focused battle over the meatgrinding deathblobs.
Battlefield 2042. I can see how hardcore BF fans hate the changes but from a turn your brain off and shoot some red gamertag standpoint the game is fine a bit stale after a bit but nothing particularly stood out as unforgivable.

Soul Calibur 5 was aparently so bad it supposedly almost buried the franchise but again I never saw the big problem with it. played like every other Soul Calibur I had bought up to that point. My only complaint was with the roster specifically there being 3 random characters (Killik, Edge Master and Soul Edge).

Kane and Lynch 2 dog days had genuinely fun online. I remember all the journalist and players b***hing about the presentation where its all shot through like a shaky camera POV which was disorientating for some but I didnt mind it.

Call of Duty Cold War was actually decent even though everyone ripped it a new one on release.

    Risin 2

This game is so god damn bad its good its not even funny. The models have a habit of being very poorly scaled and textures also seems to be from different art styles and have some really bad lighting. The voice acting is abysmal. Stock sound effects everywhere.

The combat is bad mass effect 1 with generic 3 hit arpg melee combo and no cover. The story is the middle of a trilogy but it fails to refer to the first game at all and the cliffhanger leading into the third game is a total tone shift. The characters are flat caricatures at best, the game's own story doesn't seem to do anything other than providing a reason to head to the next island.

Amd its so god damn good its not even funny.

The game world is flat as a sheet, vehicle driving is terrible, the inability of doing melee unless the target is aggro'd is silly, and the story is moronic.

BUT, the game have some soul. The infos on npcs and hacking made the world feel very alive. It was a gem on the rough, too bad Ubisoft is moronic and in the sequel they actually take off all the fun things on the first, while not touching anything that was bad about it
