RDR2 I have nearly 1500 hours into that game. I liked it because it was one of the few games I was actually good at and I could larp as a cowboy. I don't play it as much anymore, however.

Probably mount and blade warband. As for why, it's because there are tons of conversion mods and some of the maps are gigantic. I can be fighting as a viking, as a crusader, a Roman soldier, or as a soldier in the Napoleonic wars. It'll take a long time to get through all of them. Medieval combat is quite fun, hacking and slashing through hordes of poorly armoured peasants, but also dueling against a nobleman equally well-equipped as you are.

Most of those hours within 2015-18. It was fun. I still play it occasionally but not nearly as often because it's not as fun. I mostly played Arena. Mythology is cool as hell, I was super into that as a kid and would read a lot about it.

Many gamers are my age. I'm 30. It's kinda interesting, we all have our war stories and thousands of hours play time by now so we can really bring the hell fire at times. Like people go pro around my age these days. The younger people these days grew up with better tech and lots of vidya so they can keep up and keep things interesting.

Old school is more popular than rs3 so it really makes you wonder what they were smoking when they decided to nuke core game mechanics. I ragequit 2 when they introduced the ge but got back into osrs to cope with my wife leaving me. It was nostalgic redoing the quests and starting from a lvl 3. Everyone that plays it is a 30 year old boomer so the community is less cancerous than others.

Osrs is easily my most played game. Over 10,000 hours.
I have a maxed account on osrs that was accomplished in the 2013-17 era before a lot of the fortnite fast xp methods. I did 99 rc doing abyss double natures at like 20-25k xp/hr.

      >I ragequit 2 when they introduced the ge but got back into osrs
Yeah this along with a lot of other moronic updates have kind of killed the game for me. Back in like 2013 people were more hesitant of updates and wanted to preserve the "old school feel," but now people just want upgrades for their ironman or whatever.

Roughly 1300 hours on Fallout 4, Elder Scrolls Online, Dark Souls 3 and The Binding of Isaac. Roughly 3000 hours on Skyrim but I'm pretty sure Pokemon Emerald knocks them all out the water. I have over 400,000 multiplayer kills on Halo: The master chief collection. With 14,000 games played.

I just never stopped playing halo games since 2008 when they were popular. I couldn't enjoy newer shooters, because I didn't like the design philosophy. Everything seems to be designed to punish movement these days. Moving, not being crouched, jumping, not being scoped in, all incur accuracy penalties. Most games don't even let you use the scope, if you're in the air. If you move at full speed, you can't even shoot, because you're stuck in some sprinting animation.

Halo is just simpler, your gun shoots dead straight no matter what your character is doing. There's so much freedom in that.

      Anonymous

I mean, that's more of a collection of games so it's not like you're addicted to one game. I agree about Halo movement though, it's what made it great. But they pretty much abandoned that now with Infinite having sprint.

Upwards of 10,000 hours in Minecraft, 6,500 at the very least. I'm not an artistically-inclined person, and Minecraft captivated me from a young age, especially given how I had already been playing roblox for almost two years by the time I got my Minecraft account. Something about the game just locked into my being and no other game hits that spot for me. It's been a part of my life for half of my existence and it pains me to see how it's been managed in recent years.

i didn't really care for the usual mission district when i played; i found those to be poorly balanced and the maps to be scaled weird. i was usually a fight club player. i liked the 20v20 small map pace with a relatively long ttk.. and i used that game to get better at fps/tps games in general. the small, usual playerbase of good players often knew eachothers player names, which i found kinda neat.. unfortunately that also meant the game attracted ego easily too, i guess. i still believe it has one of the most powerful character creation and customization systems ever, as well.

also in fight club it seemed like there was always at least one good spawn for you to take; i really liked that feature about the game because sometimes it literally gave you the choice to take a new flank on the existing fight. coming from a call of duty childhood the pace was welcoming, and the playerbase was toxic, but also sometimes welcoming.

the black hat was the best piece of equippment ever introduced in a cod shooter. point it at the uav for a few seconds and boom, even playing field. doesnt matter how bad my team is when i have a black hat.

the hours weren't tracked as it used a 3rd party launcher, but the cRPG mod for MB: Warband. i estimate 5-6k hours total over several years. it was a small community but large enough to be really sick. it was a persistency mod where you leveled up your dude and his gear and such, with a cobbled-together "omg multiplayer warband map!!" browser metagame tied into scheduled matches. i led a medium sized clan of around 20-30 at its height, and plenty of associates and hangers-on and such. it really was something else; constantly in teamspeak with the boys. we had friends, we had enemies. there were gay nerd politics. we became quite good and sought-after as allies/mercs. in the end, we became very tight with some fantastic quebecois guys. interesting people. i liked them a ton for what they were, and certainly understand why others wouldn't. rather haughty people until you become close with them.

That I know for sure, GTA Online with 4524 hours, not counting story mode and play time before I registered my account on social club, and I didn't do that until my character was 130 levels into the game. I would estimate that it's closer to 6k on GTA V in total. I got that game on release and played it until the middle of covid, in 2021 I finally bought a got a proper PC that year and mostly stopped playing after that since most of my friends also stopped playing by then. I had a good group of friends from playing battlefield that I played with, we'd play it off and on until they released the gunrunners and smuggler's run updates, then for three years that was the game we played, we'd cycle grinding for cash with combat. played stand your ground or executive search and would wipe the floor unless there was a group in the sever with good piloting skills wanting to kill us, which those were some of the best moments I've had playing a video game.

I played WoW as a full-time job for several years, back in the mid-late 2000s. Averaged 40-50 hours a week and more or less structured my entire life around it. I only quit because my frens drifted away, if one of the people I played with back then got in touch and said "hey lets play classic/some private server/whatever" I'd drop everything and do that again.

I forget my raw /played number, it was over a year I think

I don't have exact numbers for how many hours, but my most played game is either Dark Souls 2 (mostly pvp, at like 1200 hours of playtime) or overwatch (current account has like 635 hours of playtime, I don't know how many hours of playtime I had on my previous account, but it can't have been less than 500 hours).
As for DaS2: I played it because of the PvP since it was pretty fun. Practically everything in high level pvp was unbalanced cancer but that's sort of what made it enjoyable, that feeling of seeing one of those Anus-faced Havel monsters and shitting on this motherfricker all the same was excellent. I'd also get plenty of pleasant duels, and I'd also start recognizing players. For example there was this one dude with a Murakumo whom I kept coincidentally meeting in Heide's tower and we just kept dueling, greeting each other every time. It's kind of silly but it made me feel like two revered fighters who just kept honorably dueling each other.
As for Overwatch: I guess I keep playing it because it's fun and my monkey brain likes it when things die through a gun.

8.4k+ hours into FFXIV, according to steam with my Heavensward account. My ARR account would easily bump that number higher, at least 8600 hours. I have very little to claim I achieved, a couple of EX and Savage clears, and was among the first to clear The Baldesion Arsenal. It feels like anything I try or do, to better myself or for fun, is meaningless since the community only cares about raids. Arbitrary stipulations attached to everything, and if you somehow meet the criteria, they will ridicule your DPS logs. In short, Parsehomosexuals. I didn't play much of Shadowbringers or Endwalker outside the story, nothing came close to my enjoyment of Eureka.

I have a huge chunk of time in Minecraft and Terraria, unsure about Minecraft but Terraria is around 2.8k hours.

My new obsession is Palworld. I have 750 hours and the game came out five months ago. I have my own personal two story tall plant giantess to take care of me too. Multiple actually.

I've put at least over 200 hours into various Elder Scrolls games; Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.

Done the same for the Fallout games. Over 200+ hours in New Vegas by this point.

I've played hundreds upon hundreds of hours of various Pokemon games. I even played 130 hours of Pokemon Violet despite that game being a buggy broken mess.

God knows how many hours I played of Minecraft over the years.

These are all mostly singleplayer games because I'm antisocial.

How do you go eternal mode on factory games mentally? I love them but I play until the end of the tech tree/the credits roll then I lose all interest because there's nothing new left to get.

I hate playing single-player games because I always get hit with an overwhelming feeling of abandoment and lonliness playing them. This is especially true with older games. I remember playing half-life 2 on the orange box on my old, shitty ps3 and having to stop playing because playing an old, single-player game on an old console made me feel melancholic. Multiplayer games never make me feel this way, and I wish these feelings would stop, so I can finally enjoy single-player games. I really need friends and a girlfriend.
