Whenever I play horror games, I just get bored. I get jumpscared, but the only kind of horror games I can actually enjoy are those that only employ a horror atmosphere while I can still defend myself in some way, or even be the threat to begin with. With games like for example Outlast or Amnesia, while I was able to enjoy these when I was still a child, I just aimlessly run around trying to glitch myself out of the map out of boredom these days. Can't be fricked to play edgy tag.

4.5, I don't leave the room but sometimes panic enough to use the pause menu or sometimes spoil myself by looking at the cutscenes on youtube to ease the fear from jumpscares. I don't like horror games and only play them if people I know want to play together.
Of course if the horror creature looks female then I lose all traces of fear because it's not like a guy could lose to a girl. Plus a horror monstergirl has a vegana so naturally my penis will win.

usually a 1 or 2 if the game's main thing is "spooky jumpscare" between silence but I can shoot up to a 5 if the game features some kind of natural scare factor such as accidentally walking into the roaming horror entity or it just following you slowly as it's eyes are locked onto you, most recent example is this one shitty horror game with this snake with a womans head that just stares at you as you try to get away at a snails pace.

Usually starting at 4 or 3 then always dropping to 2. After you get used to the game and understand its rules. It becomes a lot less scary. Even when it’s genuinely good horror. Which is why I appreciate a game that Lets you become the horror by the end.

I get scared but am also able to tank it to progress essentially.
That said I've only ever played a few horror games or games that had horror sections and others like Amnesia and Outlast I've seen done to death on youtube but I plan on trying them when my memory of them is foggy enough.

Alien Isolation is one of my favorite horror games. You have ways to fight back so it's not "hide until you think it's safe" but you're not too strong that you can just kill the alien and be done with it.
The game becomes a lot easier when you get the flamethrower though, it kinda removes the alien threat whenever you have ammo for it.

The older I get the more I consistently sit at 0
I feel like I learned all the tricks by playing so many games that I can most of the time predict what kind of event will occur with relative ease so I just go "huh" and mark it on some mental checklist, it's lame as frick

    Depends on the game really.
I cannot handle jumpscares at all so games with those I'm usually a 4 if they're first person and a 3 if they're third person, but stuff like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Alone in the Dark, Dead Space, etc. etc. I'm usually around a 2, maybe a 3.

2, I enjoy a good horror atmosphere, and inserting as the character being scared, but games on a screen don't scare me for real

    Locked on 2.
Wish I was a 3, I think I could get so much more out of these games.

    Zero?
I won't even play horror games because they are just walking simulators and a waste of time.

    Unless they are action-horror.

      Alien Isolation, amazing horror game.
SOMA was alright too, but the main character is kinda a moron, but it's still pretty fun.

      F.E.A.R

Best shooter ever made and solidly tense throughout, with great scares. Fist fighting anyone who says otherwise is mandatory.

Not gonna lie, I'm a 4. The "baby" scene in Resident Evil Village fricked me up so much I had to pause the game and spoil myself on the gameplay mechanics. Thankfully that was the only part of the game that truly spooked me.

1, I prefer psychological horror stories or horror sequences in non-horror games. Normal horror just kinda leaves me flat and getting startled from jumpscares isn't fun or interesting.

Somewhere between 4 & 5. I won't run out of the room, but I will instinctively pause if I lose my train of thought because of a jumpscare

1 at the start of the game, 3-4 when the "horror" segments start to appear. I played Alien Isolation at 11 pm in the dark.

4, probably higher if I ever bothered to play horror games.
call me a homosexual but longplays of shitty rpgmaker games get me on edge and I pre-emptively quit fnaf1 before anything ever happened

Probably somewhere around 1.5, my dreams end up scarier than anything I see in games though there's still the occasional jumpscare that gets me for a moment.

2 or 3 depending on the game, used to be I could reach a 4 when I was younger but as the years have passed I find it harder and harder to get scared.

I think 1. I started Corpse Party and didn't like it at all. I've also never tried other horror games but I could give them a shot.
    I'm pretty non-reactive in general.

For me it really would have to depend on the game. I refuse to play subnautica but horror is on the table no problem for everything else. I can't even jump into open bodies of water in vrchat I get so terrified.

Oscillating between 4 3 and 2 is optimal
