The music in GTA5 is awful. They tried a bit harder with the PS4 re-release but then later patched in a dozen stations that only play zoomer soundcloud music and clog up the station wheel.
This. By the time the game sold gangbusters all quality control in the track selection went out the window. They just started appealing to the 18 year old zoomer crowed. That and lazlow left.

Space is all late 70s and 80s funk/post-disco. Non-stop pop has at least 6 songs from the 90s charts, 1 song from late 80s and some early 2000s songs. That's the best GTA V got really. I only like old stuff, so that's what i was listening to when playing the game.

I like IV's more just because the pop stations are accurate to the time period while genre stations were all lovingly designed to spoonfeed you the entry-level shit from each of their genres. JNR has Giant Steps, IF99 has Fela, etc.
V's more of a mixed bag. There's effectively no 'pop' station aside from Non-Stop Pop, which is 80% songs from the 80s and 90s, and the genre stations seem to have gone with quantity over quality.
I don't even know. They had three composers doing vastly different genres overlapping and it turned out perfect.
GTAVs stations are vaginal and sterile. It's mostly chick shit and wussy moron music with some classics from the 90s and earlier thrown in. The radio hasn't been good since Vice City. San Andreas' was mid and 4 and 5's are bad/forgettable.

Contemporary music is dull in games like this, the retro period pieces of SA and VC are leagues above.
