Same as Nintendo, focus on good games, not troony shit and artificially hyping the stock by hiring tons of useless people. If your revenue comes from the actual video games you can't fail. If it comes from investors you're down to crash every once in a while.

Capcom always skimp on voice actors. Voice for Ada in R2make was fine but because she's with a union they got the horseshit we now have for R4make

Because they beat the rush, and got their slop phase out in the late-00s/early-10s, and are well into their redemption arc at this point. Even a semi-annualized series like Resident Evil is still goddamn solid post-RE7. RE3 was pretty good too, there just needed to be a lot more of it, or it needed to be a Separate Ways-style expansion for RE2.

How low budget was DD2 if it's considered a success? I mean it's sales weren't terrible, but they weren't good by AAA standards

it's called budget management. turns out you can save alot of money by not wasting it on diversity hires who are only there for your group photos to show everyone how progressive your company is.

it mad over 200 million, the budget was probably well below that especially considering the engine was already an in house built engine so that was free

the official sales target for DD1 was like 1.2M at a time when Capcom's unreasonable sales targets were a huge meme around here. Their major projects are expensive relative only to other Capcom titles, like RE6 being a huge AAA thing that needed 4 million sales to break even or whatever but they don't dumb shit like that regularly

The information is that DD2 took around 400 people to make, while usual AAA games take around thousands

Something like most Capcom games have like 1200 people working on them whereas DD2 was only around 400.

They get what makes a game fun and have popular and long-running franchises. RE games and SF6 are the only games I can truly say that I had fun playing in the past 2 years. Every other AA or AAA game is either unfinished, boring, pozzed, or all of the above. Capcom's games aren't even top shelf gaming, it's just that the bar is set so low nowadays every 7/10 game is basically Hope Diamond.
