My problem is I don't have a gamepad or know shit about setting up any of the emulation software. I actually did try to emulate Armored Core: For Answer and Verdict Day, but the first wouldn't even start, and the second one doesn't seem to recognize mouse input properly. I'll probably have to wait until RPCS3 gets better with those games.
I did, that's what got me hooked on playing mecha games right now. I'm just sad that Skells aren't something you get earlier in the game. It's a fantastic world and I fricking love exploring it. Also wish the combat was more fluid, rather than having to engage enemy by enemy in a seemingly turn based fashion. Still fantastic though, love the world, gameplay and music.
Emulate any of the old SRW games with translations or get the new SRW on Steam. Or emulate any of the PS2/PS1 Armored Cores. Or emulate RAD, or Tech Romancer. There's also Front Mission.
Can you share your settings for the game with me? I wanna give it a try, but I don't know if I need to turn something on or leave it on less intense settings.
>developer blocks someone for something they said on a platform they don't control >didn't even say anything edgy, just got blocked by association because some troony made an automated blocklist >HAHA YOU DESERVE IT FOR FOLLOWING THE WRONG PEOPLE

As a PC game? No, and it literally requires a controller. If it actually fricking works properly it's a relatively good version of the game though, and you can mod in Japanese audio so that's nice.
>I see there's a Heavy Gear Assault game on Steam, but it's mostly negative reviews.
Yeah don't touch that. Heavy Gear 1 and 2 are abandonware titles. If you want to stick to steam there's Metal Wolf Chaos.
I'd personally say Turn-A is best saved for after you've seen most of Tomino's work, given how it serves as a capstone of sorts. It is fantastic, though.
If you can deal with the old budget animation, 0079 is worth watching. If it's is too much for you, check out the movies. Mainline Gundam's always been fairly big on that sorta thing, though it varies with the AUs. Watch War in the Pocket for Christmas in a few months.
Mechgay here.
Check out RPCS3 again for Armored Core: For Answer, there are people running multiplayer over simulated network matches literally as I make this post.
I would recommend Front Mission 3, Mechwarrior Online, Zone of the Enders 1 and 2, Frame Gride.
Oh and emulate dude, it's easy as frick. Just look up a guide for each console's emulator on YouTube and that'll get it running no problem, for the ACFA multplayer I mentioned earlier there's a discord where that's happening at. Just look up Armored Core discord and you'll find it.
>I don't have a gamepad but I want to play Japanese games
I mean nothing is stopping you from playing 2D games but still nothing but doujin shit was ever designed for anything else.
I guess you could also play classic AC with WASD+space movement and arrow key camera or some odd shit and it wouldn't be any more fricking weird than on controllers.
Must've been at least ten years ago when someone was sharing some indie mecha pvp game that was pretty fun but I never found it again and have don't really have anything else that could help me find it.
Can someone tell me what became of that one mecha game that was showcased during an E3 a few years back? Or was that a fever dream I had? Because I could swear it looked something like Front Mission. I remember it had this one cable shoot out and pull down a helicopter.
mechwarrior
I asked for mecha, not mech. Even so, I already played all of the MechWarrior games.
Looks floaty / weightless as frick. I mean, yeah, mechas tend to go fast, but at least the animations don't look as weird.

I actually did get that, but like I said in the OP, looking for mecha, not mech.

>SRW
That looks like a visual novel, not really something I'm interested in. I want active gameplay.
>Front Mission
Already downloading some of the stuff, but I'll be skipping out on Left Alive, apparently that's a complete shitshow.
The good Front Mission games are the ones up to PS2. Evolved and anything that came later is garbage.
Super Robot Wars are TRPGs, like Fire Emblem
Armoured Core and Battletech/Mechwarrior are the only mech games I like.
You can get a cheap gamepad like f310.
I haven't tried For Answer but I'm playing Armored core 4 and it's very playable for me
Can you share your settings for the game with me? I wanna give it a try, but I don't know if I need to turn something on or leave it on less intense settings.
ac4a is best game ever made
Mecha Knights
Anything that can be emulated, which means basically 100% of the genre.
brigador
emulate Xenoblade Chronicles X
Mechwarrior.
*Good* mech games?
Ahahahaha get fricked.
Also, I'm fricking moronic, I said I don't own a PC, when I meant to say I don't own a console in the OP.
Zone of the Enders 2.
ZOE on PC
>mecha
>homosexual asiatic robots with skimjets and anime skirts
have a nice day homosexual
play Mech games like a real man
Eat shit, homosexual, and read the thread. I already played mech games, had my fill, and now I'm branching out.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/257030/Project_Nimbus_Complete_Edition/
That looks great, thanks, anon!
No problem. I play it constantly to scratch my 4A itch. It’s better than DXM
Man, that brings back memories. Guess I better reinstall it. Right up there with SHOGO.
No more jank than an AC game. 1.0 was a shitshow, but it’s been patched to hell and back.
Cheesy ace combat plot, constant flight, zeta-tier anime bullshit, duels, and busted as frick OP weapons.
I just hope it's not as jank as Wings of darkness
man that game was a disappointment
Please, no. Don’t remind me.
We'll never have a good mecha musume game
I forgot the sequel is (Soon)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1399170/Nimbus_INFINITY/
Man I still really need to give SHOGO a shot. I believe its theme was an easter egg in FEAR
How jank is this game?
I recommend pirating the GoG version of this because the publisher blocked my account on Steam from a Twitter blocklist back in the GG days,.
What in the absolute frick?
Oh wait, my bad, I was thinking of Strike Suit Zero. Project Numbus is the good one.
lol Black person
Good, not your personal raid homosexual, hope you learned the lesson.
>developer blocks someone for something they said on a platform they don't control

damn, looks nice
maybe dumb question but how does it play with KB+M? I could manage with them in DXM
https://store.steampowered.com/app/650510/ZONE_OF_THE_ENDERS_THE_2nd_RUNNER__MRS/
Is this port any good?
Works on my machine. If you're not convinced, you can always emulate the PS3 port.
As a PC game? No, and it literally requires a controller. If it actually fricking works properly it's a relatively good version of the game though, and you can mod in Japanese audio so that's nice.
Have you played Heavy Gear?
I see there's a Heavy Gear Assault game on Steam, but it's mostly negative reviews.
I wish From Software would go back to Armored Core.
>I see there's a Heavy Gear Assault game on Steam, but it's mostly negative reviews.
Yeah don't touch that. Heavy Gear 1 and 2 are abandonware titles. If you want to stick to steam there's Metal Wolf Chaos.
Duly noted, just Googled it and that was the first one I brought up.
Yeah, meant to type out console, but for some reason posted PC, brain bugged out for a second there.
They did mention they were looking for designers for mecha stuff.
https://www.dsp.co.jp/job/89212
Just don't hold your breath, anon, I don't think we're gonna be getting one before all of the content for Elden Ring is out.
>They did mention they were looking for designers for mecha stuff.
I needed that hopium
>I wish From Software would go back to Armored Core.
Its been way too long. Dark Souls is a great series and all, but I miss their mech games.
Ultimate Knight Windom XP
>What mecha games can I play on PC? I don't own a PC.
None.
>What mecha games can I play on PC?
>I don't own a PC.
Kafkaesque
I think he meant he doesn't own a console.
Really, nobody’s said MASS Builder yet?
MASS Builder
The mechs/mecha walking animation looks like they just ripped that from some generic third person shooter.
Might have. The big draw is basically the customization, the gameplay mostly exists as a vehicle for the customization.
SRW 30, the biggest mecha release in 2021, is coming out in 11 days.
GET IT NOW
>generally don't like mecha in general
>for some reason it clicks one day so i binge 00 the last 2 days
>i'm hooked and bought some gunpla
what do i watch next bros
Do you want more gundam or a different take on mecha?
I'm feeling more Gundam - it was a lot more political than I expected and I really liked it, at least in the first season.
is 00 okay for someone who hasnt seen a gundam anime since like 2009/2010
I suppose it would be, it's really self contained so it's not like you're missing important information because you're a bit rusty.
Noted, thanks dude.
If you're into the politics you might like Turn A and the original '79
I'd personally say Turn-A is best saved for after you've seen most of Tomino's work, given how it serves as a capstone of sorts. It is fantastic, though.
Turn-A sucked
You suck.
If you can deal with the old budget animation, 0079 is worth watching. If it's is too much for you, check out the movies. Mainline Gundam's always been fairly big on that sorta thing, though it varies with the AUs.
Watch War in the Pocket for Christmas in a few months.
Knight's and magic.
>Knight's and magic.
frick off
Gun X Sword.

lol the guns are just copy pasted over each other
metal wolf chaos
Project Six
Get emulator and play Front Mission and Armored Core games

Whos that chunky boy loos pretty healthy
Left alive?
Definitely not. Left Alive's Wanzers don't even have smooth animations.
AC Vengeance.
I know, but do you maybe have a link to that video?
I can't recall, I'm afraid.
Lmao.
Cancelled. I'm sorry.
Was it on a specific platform? What gen?
Anon, I...
Dat's pretty cool mecha. Where is it from?
