>wanting first person "rpg" shit to begin with
And you are the main reason why good RPGs are so few and far between. Stick with Skyrim, champ, you'll grow up one day I'm sure.
I hat to add with something like "this", but what the fuck, THIS. first person RPGs are horrendous and the perspective does not add to anything, on the contrary. The only way around this is using VR and it loses a lot of the RPG appeal to go into some tech demo appeal. Fuck first person RPGs, just leave that shit for shooters, period.
DOS3 please
BG3 -was- DOS3, c'mon my man.
Probably BG3 Definitive Edition.
I haven't played DOS 2 yet even though I enjoyed the first one so I have that to look forward to, I barely remember anything lore-wise though. I have to say, I know a lot of cRPG diehard fans don't like them I grew to enjoy some of the Larian quirks (except the terrain effect autism which they toned down in BG3).
DOS2 is amazing. If you're into that, try playing in with another player in couch coop (or true multi, but having the other person around is ideal)
I don't understand why they're setting this in the Pillars universe
It's like Valve making a Dota card game
Nobody fucking cares about the PoE universe
>I don't understand why they're setting this in the Pillars universe
It honestly worries me, I remember basically nothing from PoE except for the obscene lore dumps that I didn't give a fuck about. I hope they don't shove that type of shit into this game too.
[...]
[...] >I remember basically nothing from PoE
I mostly remember some random stuff about the blue island naggers from Deadfire
What even was the lore of PoE1 other than Evil Cult™ wanting to rez some evil goddess, who the fuck remembers
I played through both PoEs twice as well lol
>Deadfire
I never played that because I found the first game so boring, the game was very in your face about telling you a bunch of shit you couldn't care less about. I don’t even remember anything else but that & some of the areas because they looked cool but that's it, everything else is blanked out. Really sucks because I mightve otherwise liked the game but getting slapped with an encyclopedia over & over again really overwhelmed everything else.

Ah, yes, from the makers of Outer Worlds, the "Fallout killer". Don't kid yourself, my dear anon, current days Obsidian should stick to smaller games like Grounded and Pentiment.
Sven does not like first-person perspective in games. In the past, multiple people in the development team tried to convince him, but he keeps saying no.
I remember someone saying they're working on a Warhammer game, which I hope is true. I'd like to see what they do with that setting. Either fantasy or 40k is fine.
Fuck I'm sick of warhammer everywhere. It's going to be another few years before the next proper owlcat crpg because of them working on that boring rogue trader game.
I'm not sure I care anymore. The team is too bloated, the soul is gone, and if they pull another early access without a release date it's going to be an even bigger mess.
They said it was a smaller project, so it isn't BG4.
It's either going to be
1) Another Divinity title
2) Another D&D title, since I believe they still have the license. If so, that brings up the interesting question of it they'll make another game set in the Forgotten Realms (like Icewind Dale or Neverwinter Nights) or if they'll go with a different campaign, such as Blackmoor, Ravenloft, Planescape, Spelljammer, etc. The prominent role of the Githyanki in BG3 might actually be a hint towards a Planescape game, since (if you remember) the Gith are from the Planescape campaign, not Forgotten Realms.
3) They're making a brand new IP
I think them working on some other licensed game is out of the question since we would have heard that they got a license or deal with some other company.
I think the Gith are in BG3 mainly because they appeared briefly in BG2 and Larian have tried to reprise everything they can from that game. I also think the Gith are to BG3 what the drow were to BG2. In BG2 you had a romanceable drow companion who was initially a bitch but could be changed by a well-intentioned player character, and the story spent a good deal of time expanding on the drow culture, which consists of sadism and the fanatical religious worship of a goddess who does nothing to help her worshippers. Now in BG3 you have a Gith companion who is initially a bitch but can be changed by a well-intentioned player character, and the story spends a good deal of time on the gith culture, which consists of sadism and the fanatical religious worship of a goddess who does nothing to help her worshippers.
How? Revan was a famous figure who started a war and it's mentioned every time. The twist about Dark urge isn't that he is a Bhaalspawn, but the original chosen of Bhaal and one of the evil masterminds behind everything
I hope it's Divinity OS3. They release games too slowly to capitalize on BG4 as their next game. By the time they'd finish BG4, the market will have moved on. While the RPG audience will buy the next game, no matter what it is.
>What next for them after BG3
hopefully nothing, BG3 was the worst DND game i ever played.
I guess larian could do semi decent telltale porn games or something? i suppose.
but they sure as shit cant make RPG's even if you put a gun to their head.
I think its the fastest forgotten big release in recent years, the only other huge release that was forgotten after 5 minutes was Hogwarts.
It also had 43578 trillion people playing it on release, and then the world forgot it existed 5 minutes later.
its not just BG3, all larian games are forgettable like this. how many people actually finished dos2? like 1%?
You lost Pajeet, please don't kys when bg3 wins goty
gr8 b8 m8 i r8 it a 4.5
winning goty in 2023 is like winning in the special olympics. >diablo 4, a fucking disaster >bg3, the worst DND cringe game ever made with shitty mobile game graphics >shartfield with 20 year old engine that needs a loading screen for a 2x2 room >zelda is a game for 5 year olds >armored core is a silly mobile game >spiderman is pozzed tranny shit with manjaw girls
we all lost this year.

Act 3 has been a smooth experience for me and I think patch 4 is the reason. Only bugs I've had 1) Shadowheart not following the group, and 2) Shadowheart's portrait being replaced with a black box. The story sequence and dialogues haven't bugged at all, even though they were both messy for me in Act 2, prior to the patch.
They're making Divinity Original Sin 3 >Larian founder Swen Vincke says it will return to its defining series following its work on Baldur’s Gate 3, but don’t expect Divinity Original Sin 3 soon. >“We’ll first finish this one, and then take a break, because we will need to refresh ourselves creatively,” Vincke remarks. “You’re seeing 400 developers putting their heart and souls into this – you’re getting the best of them and their craft in this game. I can tell you, it’s quite a thing.” Don’t expect to hear anything on Divinity Original Sin 3 for some time, then.
6 years of hard drugs.
Then maybe they'll start developing dos4.
Sven already said he's working on the next game
as to what that is he obviously didn't say.
sauce?
working = pre-pre-production (going to vacation fucking whores and eventually gathering "inspiration")
is there a chance they'll make a 1st person rpg and kill bethesda as a studio?
>wanting first person "rpg" shit to begin with

Obsidian is already doing that
But I'm afraid they only gonna kill themselves, and Bethesda self implodes anyway

It's like Valve making a Dota card game

You know they will, that's basically the game's only identity
lol sad but true
>Deadfire
I never played that because I found the first game so boring, the game was very in your face about telling you a bunch of shit you couldn't care less about. Ah, yes, from the makers of Outer Worlds, the "Fallout killer". Don't kid yourself, my dear anon, current days Obsidian should stick to smaller games like Grounded and Pentiment.
I really enjoyed Pentiment
>Fallout killer
I don't recall Obsidian making that claim. The buzz was that it was going to be something akin to New Vegas, which it was, but with bad writing.
Obsidian is not gonna hack it.
Sven does not like first-person perspective in games. In the past, multiple people in the development team tried to convince him, but he keeps saying no.
No but I'd love a Divinity 3 with the same over the shoulder mechanics as Divinity 2.
remake of divine divinity
DOS3 please
More homosexual porn, because gotta find something for all the fags hired for BG3 to do
Lol no
If only you knew
Agreed, but will never happen.
Would love for this to happen, but again, homosexual porn is the priority right now
Wish they restarted Divinity: Fallen Heroes, pure tactics spin-off of DOS2. Looked neat back then.
sexual misconduct allegations most likely
Hopefully firing their writers. It's literally the only thing holding them back.
Yeah if they can just up their writing game they will unironically be god tier.
They'll only be ironically god tier.
BG3 had pretty decent writing, the biggest problem is that it was unfinished
DOS 3 because 5e is hot garbage as a system
creating game for pedophiles
Bankruptcy
Funny how hard Larian mindbroke this retarded board.
I remember someone saying they're working on a Warhammer game, which I hope is true. I'd like to see what they do with that setting. Either fantasy or 40k is fine.
I hope not, sorry.
The setting is cringe, and I hate those total war games entirely.
Fuck I'm sick of warhammer everywhere. It's going to be another few years before the next proper owlcat crpg because of them working on that boring rogue trader game.

Neverwinter Nights 3
A Star Wars RPG
Bankruptcy hopefully, considering how hard bg3 flopped

Huh, so you tards are still around?
Feel free to post the botted sales numbers inflated by tencent
>BG3 flopped because.... because I didn't like it okay!
>It flopped in my heart! ;_;
The very very end of Baldurs Gate 3 with Witchers addressing the dead 3 feels like it could potentially be a set up for Baldurs Gate 4
BG3:EE
Probably BG3 Definitive Edition.
I haven't played DOS 2 yet even though I enjoyed the first one so I have that to look forward to, I barely remember anything lore-wise though. You sick fuck.
MOOOOOOOOOODS
I'd like if they remade the previous games.
I'm not sure I care anymore. The team is too bloated, the soul is gone, and if they pull another early access without a release date it's going to be an even bigger mess.
no one believes what you believe and you will die mad
If nothing else I'm quite glad to be unaffected by the delusions of your reddit hivemind.
BG4: Gate harder

Planescape or Spelljammer please
A Planescape game would go brazy imho, there's even a new 5e Planescape setting to shill now.
I think the Gith are in BG3 mainly because they appeared briefly in BG2 and Larian have tried to reprise everything they can from that game. I also think the Gith are to BG3 what the drow were to BG2. Swen said in an interview that he wanted to do a more 'sci-fi' game. So expect Planescape or far-future Divinity
I want to see them do their take on an X-com like game
I would like to see a new Sci-fi RPG game. A good one, not emptyfield.
A good game for once, hopefully. Maybe not Generic Fantasy Game #485×8
Starfield won
BG3 Definitive Edition before anything else.
DOS 4 I guess
Neverwinter Nights 3 with GM tools.
I hope fucking bankrupt already
?si=80oyjFFGd4bQRzRQ
the LED wars 2.
move over cdpr, new cyberkino is dropping
They said they're making a smaller scale game next. Will probably still be ESG approved ultra-woke cancer like BG3 though.
>ultra-woke cancer
Everyday life must be a terrifying ordeal for you
Saving Bioware once again
This. Or kotor 1 remake. I don't remember what happened to the announced remake, was it canceled or aspyr got their hands on it to do nothing?
No more remakes. Just new stuff pls
This please the Magic number 3, I love you Larian
The Durge story in BG3 was like a KOTOR remake. It did the Revan plot twist again.
How? Revan was a famous figure who started a war and it's mentioned every time. The twist about Dark urge isn't that he is a Bhaalspawn, but the original chosen of Bhaal and one of the evil masterminds behind everything
Neverwinter nights 3
weren't they going to do a dlc?
Icewind dale 3
cashgrab dlc in 4 years that's equally rushed in the second half as the base game
Would love to see what they could do with the Ultima ip.
Dark Sun crpg
make it happen Sven
Take your pick
>Neverwinter Nights 3
>Knights of the Old Republic 3
>Arcanum 2
I hope it's Divinity OS3. They release games too slowly to capitalize on BG4 as their next game. By the time they'd finish BG4, the market will have moved on. While the RPG audience will buy the next game, no matter what it is.

Disco Elysium 2
Their next game will be in a science fiction setting
They're the new Bioware.
another garbage turn-based homosexual game and like always will be shilled on Ganker non-stop.
Hopefully Divinity 3, but they can only make CRPGs now so i should stop hoping.
fixing their fucking game for once, and not by making it worse like with their patch 4
putting a steam workshop as well

Let's combine these and have Dragon Commander 2 IN SPACE

Dragon Commander 2 I want a short stack wifu.
They should focus on baldurs gate 4 to capitalize on the success of this game. It's unusual for a crpg to become this successful
