No, it isn't. The sentence you posted is clear: Billy is saying that he he DID perform the score on original hardware, and that TG is lying when they say that he didn't. His "evidence" is not evidence that he could have reasonably known that he was playing on MAME, which could reasonably be argued, but instead eyewitness reports saying that he did play on real hardware even when it's objectively proven that he didn't.

Their rules for determination of unmodified hardware are the metric they determine the legitimacy of a machine for a run. the idea is that they would have no basis to call his run illegitimate if it did not fail to meet the criteria at the time. It's not exactly complex. Barrel paths are manipulated by your left and right inputs, which you often want to do on a ladder for high score attempts.
On a 4 way stick its impossible to move up the ladder and do left and right inputs simultaneously . On an 8 way stick you can do diagonal inputs to do both.
Go try it for yourself. You have received all the info you need. Ganker isn't going to chew your own food for you.

Old games almost all read simultaneous inputs. Super Mario Bros. reads players pressing left and right at the same time. You need to specifically code a game to NOT recognize two inputs at the same time and nobody in the 80s thought to do that because it was physically impossible on the hardware at the time.

The idea seems to be that you have to run a custom configuration for an 8 way stick to overcome the 4 way design of the original game -this besides the original cabs being gated on top of that, which prevents the lock up from happening. Inclusive of DK, with different games of the era having their own hang ups in responding to the unintended inputs ranging from picking one over the other or accepting neither. The disadvantages/unintended inputs seemingly require special configuration of an emulator to overcome the issues. The old physical cabs also have restrictor plates, which prevent diagonals outright.

With an 8 way stick its significantly easier/quicker to manipulate barrels while you are on ladders.
On a 4 way stick you have to be stationary on a ladder to manipulate the barrels. On an 8 way you can do it while climbing the ladder.

Old games almost all read simultaneous inputs. Super Mario Bros. reads players pressing left and right at the same time. You need to specifically code a game to NOT recognize two inputs at the same time and nobody in the 80s thought to do that because it was physically impossible on the hardware at the time.

Inclusive of DK, with different games of the era having their own hang ups in responding to the unintended inputs ranging from picking one over the other or accepting neither. The disadvantages/unintended inputs seemingly require special configuration of an emulator to overcome the issues. The old physical cabs also have restrictor plates, which prevent diagonals outright.

With an 8 way stick its significantly easier/quicker to manipulate barrels while you are on ladders.
On a 4 way stick you have to be stationary on a ladder to manipulate the barrels. On an 8 way you can do it while climbing the ladder.
