    >we found out about this glitch that basically fricks up all your progress right at the final boss and we left it in because we thought it was funny and more challenging haha frick you
almost no one can actually beat this game without a guide or tips or anything. 2 and 3 are much better

No, when you lose to the boss, you go back like 8 screens to the bridge, regardless of your leftover lives

oh yeah that is pretty fricked. I forgot about that.

I want you to picture yourself walking down the street from a side angle. There’s a tube in front of you that you have to jump through to avoid a large pothole on the sidewalk. But if you jump through it, a knife comes out of nowhere and stabs you in the forehead.

That’s what playing Ninja Gaiden is like.

I beat it without savestating. But only because I knew about slash cancelling beforehand. I never had a problem with Jaquio, he's super easy in this one.

slash canceling is tough getting the hang of. it's impossible if you have the game on wii, or wii-u. you need a nes controller

Ninja Gaiden is easy once you get the grasp for it.
Ninja Gaiden II is even easier.
Ninja Gaiden III is the really hard one, made me go Famicom version.

I'm 41. I played it when it was contemporary, just like all the NES games. No guides for any of them, although I did call my cousin while playing Simon's Quest when I was stumped after wrapping around the world and he explained to use the heart at the ferryman.

I did. You have unlimited continues and despite the high difficulty it's generous with checkpoints. So it's hard but you can literally just use trial and error to brute force it. Same with Ninja Gaiden 2. Now 3, that one is fricking impossible because for some bullshit reason they removed unlimited continues.

in 3 I think it's stage 5 that is the biggest pain in the ass.

        Anonymous

Regardless of which stage is hardest for any particular player, it's the loss of infinite continues that's the real crutch. Whichever "That part" was trouble for you in 1 or 2 could eventually be overcome through banging your head against it long enough because the game let you try forever. Whichever part of 3 gives you trouble ends the game and sends you back to the title screen.

it's probably the hardest game I've ever played. I rank ancient ship of doom as extremely difficult

It's not that hard technically, you just need to try again and again until you know every trick

I know I can since I grew up with an NES and used to play it religiously. Yes, I'm fricking old.

Not sure if I still can. I did years ago, but I don't have confidence now.
2 and 3 I guess I probably still could. I don't remember either one being as hard as the first.
