What the frick is his problem?

What the frick is his problem? I don't know if it's intentional on the voice actors end, but he comes off as so abrasive sometimes
>Ryuzo: "My men have been captured, we have to save them"
Jin: *unconcerned tone* "I was counting on them to save my uncle..."

    >why is the noble unconcerned with the plight of commoners

Most of his character is the total opposite.
Hell, the common man is basically the entire reason he goes through everything he does.

yeah common farmers and women and children who can't defend themselves, he doesn't give a frick about some mercenaries

He does also care about the soldiers and conscripts and generally sees the way the nobility is operating as being a waste of their lives for the sake of their honor. My point being he does generally care about all the people of the nation involved.

Remember when they chose the Mongol invasion as the backdrop so they could do the "evil empire vs oppressed but plucky rebels" cliche with the Japanese of all people? The game was pretty good but all the Hollywood shit in it really bothered me, it should've been set during the Genpei war so you mainly fight other samurai.

The mongols also provide a way different opposing force in mannerism, belief and how they wage a war. It's not so much that set up as "Pragmatic, efficient empire vs effete empire vs man willing to do anything for his people"

at least its an event that isn't really touched upon in other media so you can become interested in the fact there was a mongol invasion of Japan in the first place

In Japanese history it's extremely important. Basically the entire Japanese history as we know it was influenced by the invasion. The effects of the Mongol invasion were still prevalent even as late as ww2, kamikaze is divine wind, named for the typhoons that destroyed the Mongolian fleets.

Well without the invasion Japan would have been integrated more with the Dutch and British traders that came in the following years thus making them an allied force from the beginning of ww1. Japan has a lot of industry potential that would have been folded into the war machine even before ww2. World would be quite different had it not been for those damn mongorians.

Is Ryuzo the dumbest character ever?
    >Jin about to rescue his uncle and give him all the food he would ever want + nobility
    >throw that away um because... siding with the khan who is already losing the castle and retreating north is the better idea

ryuzo suspected that shimura would make an unreliable ally who'd simply use him and his ilk as cannon fodder (which is correct).

Jin wasn't the one who would ultimately decide the fate of Ryuzo and his men after the rescue mission
That would be Shimura and Shimura as the game goes to great lengths to show was high on his own honorable farts and could not be trusted to do what was best for the ronin

I don't buy that. If anything can be said about Shimura is that he is beyond honorabu. He would have absolutely done what was right had Ryuzo proved his loyalty in rescuing him. Let's not forget he did honor his agreement with someone who is much lower on the honorabu totem pole in Yuna.

Because he's completely broken and torn between two lifestyles. That of a honorabru samurai, and that of The Ghost. Jin was always a bit mentally unstable, you get this impression in flashbacks where he brutally cuts down a man when he's still just a child, and how Ryuzo describes his brutality in their competion. Now he's been let loose to wreak justified and vengeful wrath across all of Tsushima. The Mongols make it so easy. The way they treat his people is awful, and every slice of his blade feeds his ego. It's why you're not even the same person by the ending. He's been consumed by an alter ego, and relished in the fact. He enjoyed being feared, he enjoyed slaughtering mongols. It's actually kino, the game never really forces a moral dilemma in a hamfisted way. Jin is perfectly accepting of his new role as The Ghost. He doesn't feel shame stabbing a mongoligger in the chest while he sleeps, he doesn't regret slashing open a mongoliggers throat in front of his friends, he loves it.

      >Jin: "You said you were making posions"
      >Yuriko: "Yes, to kill vermin"
      >Jin: "Can yuo make it stronger? Strong enough to kill a man?"
      >Yuriko: "It's effects in large doses aren't pretty"
      >Jin: "Good..."
You're right, he just likes killing monBlack folk. You probably have to be on some level of sociopathy to be a samurai

He has a clear goal and mission to achieve. Not every character needs to be an ass backwards overly sensitive pussy to the point of being self detrimental. Not all problems are equal. That would make him a shit character and would lead to bad writing
