They are retarded. Look up grease gun, it's cheapest gun made in ww2, that's how "bad" weapons should look like, not absolute shit that pipe weapons are
Grease gun, Sten etc were still made with industial machines and materials. In the post apocalypse you's see more of these retarded guns that you'd find from police raids in brasil.
The sten was made on shitty garage workbenches out of commonly available metal sheets. The grease gun could have been made the exact same way. They were not complicated machines that required skilled machinists.
I'm sure they would have common garages stocked with tools we take for granted in a literal wasteland

Now that you mention it, some of the biggest gangs we fight were settled in factories, you're telling me none of them managed to produce decent makeshift weapons? Hell nearly every gang uses turrets so they clearly have some mechanical and gunsmithing skills, not to mention the ones that have power armor, yet they uses pipes that would blow up after a single shot, it would be fine if they were single shot rifles or shotguns.

The grease gun requires specialized stamping machines for those steel sheets. It was engineered to be cheap for the US military over time but setting up tooling for them actually requires industrial tools not found in a garage.
I feel like you can kind of hand-wave it due to the prevalence of power armor stations and the nuclear tech present in Fallout's vehicles before the war. surely those tools would be advanced enough to fabricate basic handmade guns.

Spoken like someone who doesn't actually know what was in people's garages. And notice you didn't say shit about the sten, which was made literally in people's garages. The grease gun could have been too. If you had the wherewithal you could easily look up the plans, the grease gun is not complicated in the slightest. There is a reason it cost about $3 to produce on those "industrial" tools that you don't think could be found in every single mechanic shop.

Way to out yourself as a nogunz retard. Say what you want about the sten but the grease gun is an entirely different animal when it comes to stamping. Do some fucking research of your own.

Most people don't have metal stamping equipment you retard
The sten and grease gun filled the same roles but had extremely different manufacturing processes and only one could actually be reproduced in a garage
I don't mind the excessive use of ugly, wooden furniture, I mind the rust. If you shoot through a barrel full of rust enough times that barrel is going to fucking explode. And people didn't just magically forget how to clean rust. In fact, they probably would have gotten much, much better at it over the course of the last 200 years while being extremely dependent on old-world scrap metal.
I love the fact that people in fallout are finally making their own prison guns, I just hate how terrible they are. The post-apocalypse is not a fast-moving world. A man would spend a lot of time making and perfecting his own gun; it's something he'll trust his life to, he cares about it a lot. He'll carve and smooth the grips to be just right, clean the barrel and moving parts, replace work out small bits like springs. Even if raiders are dumb, the ones that survive to adulthood are clearly not THAT stupid. The last thing they want is a misfire and they'll take care of that gun since they probably spent a bunch of money on it or worse a bunch of time putting it together. Something like a functional gun doesn't just magically appear in one day, it'd either take caps to get one quickly or about a week minimum to find all the shit, put it together, test it, retest it and finally be satisfied that it'll kill someone other than you.
>in the post-apocalypse
People had been manufacturing new guns in fallout since the first fucking game. And they weren't shitty pipe guns, they were all kinds of automatic weapons, motorized miniguns and fucking energy weapons.
>you's see more of these retarded guns that you'd find from police raids in brasil.
A pipe gun is literally that, turning a pipe into a gun.
You dont make a gun out of pipes, moron.
>it's cheapest gun made in ww2
False, that would be the liberator.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FP-45_Liberator
Designed to be mass air dropped over France in the hopes that angry French people would shoot Germans then take their guns to shoot more Germans with, the things were like $1 each to make and designed to be disposable. They came with just a few bullets and wouldn't survive shooting many more than that.
If you specified cheapest service gun, then sure it's the grease gun.
for fuck's sake, the east coast is the HOME of american firearms manufacturing (before the states went full retard and everyone uprooted to the midwest), plus all sorts of other industry that could be retooled into firearm manufacture on more or less a moment's notice
new york alone had FOUR different companies with mil contracts in WW2 (remington rand, singer, ithaca, savage) and that was just for fucking 1911s
Where did all the guns go? There would be millions of examples scattered across every other household.
Last I checked the US in the fallout universe wasn't anti-gun so it's not like they would have been rare.
this infuriates me because actual homemade pipeguns are still cooler looking than this shit. like even someone slamming two drainage pipes together to make a naggerrigged shotgun looks better than these jumbled piles of garbage
This shit, lack of partial reload, scaled leveling, RNG loot and pointless unique weapons along with barebones RPG elements is why I will never play a modern Bethesda game ever again.
I felt fucking empty after playing Skyrim after the first few cool setpieces.
Deep as a puddle and mods can't fix it.
yeah, it's really strange how no one pointed out how useless randomized loot is
I killed someone, got an interesting weapon, game immediately crashed
reload, go back to kill the guy, and got some shitty weapon instead
nothing more fun and immersive than playing slots every kill, really fun gameplay!
My only super gripey problem with these are >guns are mass produced in the in game universe >nobody thought to improve ergonomics at any point
none of these look comfortable to hold or even shoulder
My only super gripey problem with these are >guns are mass produced in the in game universe >nobody thought to improve ergonomics at any point

The pipe guns aren't supposed to be THE mass produced post-war guns. Post-war guns would be largely indistinguishable from pre-war guns https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Gun_Runners. Pipe guns are meant to be jury rigged shit that random junkies without a clue managed to put together using whatever scrap they found and the occasional part from an actual gun, they should all be one-of-a-kind but of course they aren't gonna model that many variants.
Actual pipe guns look cooler and don't have random shit attached.
It's also based on Fallout 2 showing yet again that Bethesda has literally 0 creativity.
Design document is stupid. Why would wastelanders who know nothing about guns try to build a semi-auto rifle? Muzzleloaders, I get it, but there is no way a person without knowledge/experience would properly calculate the physics behind making it reliable. And ones you get said knowledge, there is no way you would make something like THAT.
Assuming these are supposed to be make shift guns in an apocalypse game >The reflex sights are stupid. You're not going to be able to make a make-shift mounting system that's actually going to hold a zero to be worth it if you are using scraps. >The drum magazine is seemingly bolted into the receiver of the first >some custom made bolt carrier for the non-revolvers, yet no proper stock or trigger not even a trigger guard >bottom left two rifle stocks would hurt like a bitch to shoot if it was a powerful round
literally how the fuck do you even fire this
it looks like there's a spring-loaded bolt but that would surely mean you will raise the barrel when you pull it back meaning you will hit approximately nothing you are aiming it at. it also looks like it's designed not to fire the bullet but to launch it at someone like a projectile? this is some looney tunes shit.
>mental image of a nigga putting his palm out next to his chest like telling you to stop, only to swing out this metal hunk and slamming it into his palm >misses

Jesus Christ, i'm not asking for tacticool modern guns with MW animations, but get a hint Bethesda, it can't be that hard to get a guy that can design good sci fi guns
I like the big blocky laser rifle and the two-shot laser rifle with the exact same silhouette as the Aliens pulse rifle. The ballistic weapons do all look pretty bad though, maybe the space P90 is the least bad one
This one gets a pass because the usmc guys and master chief have the guns sights synced up to their helmets on a HUD, top mounted makes sense in this case since it's be very close to the barrel
It really does. Also still can't figure out what the stock is from. Maybe a FAL?
>put your hand right under the revolver cylinder, what's the worst that can happen!
funny how we have real life examples of why revolver rifles don't work yet no one decided to look at them
Significant design issue, but I think revolving shotguns and rifles do look cool, but I'd never want to own one.
its probably just from him welding that abomination on to it, it think the stapler would be destroyed if it actually had to withstand the pressure from a bullet
>put your hand right under the revolver cylinder, what's the worst that can happen!

Of course. 420RPM (varied), shoots .22LR. Has zero components from existing firearms and because full auto weapons are very illegal in Finland, it was confiscated by the police when he tried to apply for a permit for it.
the gun can be converted to fire slugs, flechettes, and electromagnetic shot, but it comes stock with buckshot. they're just mods that you install to the gun that change the projectile and it doesn't change the loaded ammo type.

I am genuinely at a loss for words.
This was how it worked in Fallout 4. You make a receiver capable of armor piercing fire. Yes they did ammo types in New Vegas. No, they didn't add the feature to subsequent titles.
yet unlike FO4 you can't preserve weapon mods in Starfield
if you want to switch back to an old mod you have to craft it from scratch every time

This was done on purpose just to extend the grind. 90% of the gameplay motivation comes from trying to grind to higher tiers of ship/weapon/armor parts.
there's standard 11mm Caseless and a cut 11mm XPL, so judging by that, it seems like they considered adding proper ammo conversions at one point but I assume that they felt like people would be overwhelmed with all of the ammo types.
>do you use the hammer drill function to strike the firing pin?
it looks like it just rotates to belt-feed the ammo, and theres probably something mechanical inside to automatically strike each round
Roughly translated:
"80 year old engineer from hämeenlinna developed a automatic weapon from a drill. Its fire rate is 420 shots a minute and uses .22 caliper rounds."
i swear, Bethesda and modern bungie are the worst weapon designers of all time. at least with the ridiculous swords in games like final fantasy they look like swords that someone could at least attempt to hold, these guns look legitimately dangerous to the user and look like shit
I used to modify the air compressors in Nerf guns so that they shot way further/faster. Then I'd buy those darts from the dollar store that were made out of a much thicker foam, and replaced the head of the darts with a thumbtack. I made a friend cry by shooting him in the ass with it, I didn't actually expect it to go through his jeans lmao.
no its the opposite, they do give a fuck but most of their references are from movie/TV props or comic illustrations and not real guns. what they fail to understand is that movies/tv and comics have the saving grace of not actually showing how the gun works, while vidya that is in first person does have to show the gun working
The top right is meant to emulate the MTR-8 as is Starfield's thing with space-ifying real guns so it doesn't actually teleport back but is simply a bit lower than it needs to be.
What the fuck do you mean by >a little lower
I just thought anon's image was funny until you posted that. Now I'm horrified. I'm even an artfag god damn I'm going to be insanely careful drawing guns from now on.
That one he posted is a real gun, the round travels backwards from the drum and into the chamber.
The Starfield shit is not close to the barrel of the gun, it's way too low and can't travel upwards because it's stuck to a revolver drum.
Anonymous
The MTR-8's cylinder doesn't feed the cartridges back so I don't know why that anon drew Starfield's gun like it's supposed to teleport back. Like I said, it's main issue is that the cylinder is simply not in-line with barrel and is too low.
So it's like a Landstad 1900 and a MTR-8 had a baby? BETHESDA DOES IT AGAIN!

There is Tarkov. It's shit. I just wish more games would do guns justice and don't make them do pitiful damage with skills that increase it. Bethesda games are the worst offender. They don't even try to innovate in that sense. Imagine if damage was the same, but skill gave you buff for recoil control or replaced reload animations with a more competent and faster one. How much better it would be
4 weeks ago
Anonymous
well tarkov is a multiplayer looter shooter and about the last thing i give a shit about
this would be cool if they cut the barrel out altogether and have it as a ultra lore bore pistol firing nearly straight from the cylinder. make it a fast firing single fire pistol with low recoil but high bullet drift.
>Did Bethesda actually use AI to generate these weapons?
I'm pretty sure an AI would do it better because at least it'd take a look at real weapons before making anything
>they actually modeled a selector switch >but the only way to flip the switch is by taking it to a crafting bench >and smothering it with adhesive, raw titanium ore and some other shit I forgot
y tho?
Since this is now /k/ thread. Here are some South African homemade firearms. Bethesda didn't even to make shit up for Fallout, just needed to look to the third world.
that would require Bethesda to care about gun design. they just copied random sci-fi designs that they saw in a comic or TV show for most of the guns, then got some random cheap bb guns for the "old earth" guns
Mining metal in space is cheaper than pumping dead dino israelites and transporting liquid to factories to make plastics. We are going 40k style, our cathedrals will be made of titanium.
This one of those designs that the more you look at it, the more cursed it gets.
I got bored
It's not even the worst offender of all the shotguns, at least it cycles normally unlike the pump-actions.
I tried to illustrate how it supposedly works, it's like a moving AR thingy that slides back (it also opens up completely like a peep-hole at the top) to pick up the caseless ammo by letting it rotate slightly first then pushing it forward into the barrel, it's completely fucking stupid
Yeah and weapons that supposedly use the same ammo have different sizes in the game, the weapon animations differ from third person to first person, your point being? I was just showing you how the action supposedly work in the Bethesda interns head when they were designing it
It would work for slugs obviously, and figuring it out for shot probably wouldn’t be much more difficult than overcoming all the other issues with caseless.
Space Magic. Bethesda is cripplingly retarded. Which is funny because New Vegas has amazing guns. Josh Sawyer despite being a lefty, is not a nogunz. He had unloaded guns around the office so that designers could reference them, and also took them all to a gun range so they could get firsthand experience on how the mechanisms worked.
almost every ballistic firearm in New Vegas was a real world weapon, if you go 1:1 like that it's not hard to fuck them up, and even then there's issues like the obscenely aggressive curve on the marksman rifle's magazine.
So were tons of the Fallout 3 weapons, but they sucked ass anyway. Tiny issues here and there are expected in all video games that aren't milisims because of basic concepts like "role-playing" and "balance." As far as guns go, FNV's are better than Bethesda's work in every way.
I watch that /k/ autist's videos too, but it seems like he completely misunderstands why video games stagger fire rates. Yes, the first pistol in the game should have a much faster fire rate. A headshot should also kill literally anyone you pop with it, but it doesn't. Your gun damage is dictated by your skill. Because Fallout is a video game.

caseless ammunition is held together by solid propellant that the bullet is placed in.
it's been experimented with for decades, but while it has the advantage of cutting down on the weight of ammo by getting rid of metal cases, there were too many disadvantages with the ammo to see widespread adoption.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_%26_Koch_G11?useskin=vector
I like the fire selector there. You have to use your left hand to use it. If you tried to use just one hand you'd have to use the thumb that's looped through the hole. Like if it's holstered and on safe, you draw it, put your thumb at like a 45 degree angle to pull BACK and UP on the selector tab until your thumb is almost at a 90 degree angle through the hole. How wacky.
Ignore the reused animation, the guns themselves are either ugly overdesigned shit or just ugly shit like the last one. Why are artists at bethesda so shit?

Don't forget hearthfire was (and still is on vanilla) absolutely broken. to the point most homes were barely functional.
Considering the fact that Bethesda Game Studio does a terrible job with combat, it stands to reason that they don't take weapons and armor very seriously. BGS games have some of the most ridiculously shallow and simplistic combat mechanics in the industry, so of course their weapons and armor are equally ridiculous.
>gun holds a max of five rounds >fire one, eject shell >gun now has four rounds
Fine so far >press reload button >hammer drops for no reason >insert five rounds for a total of nine rounds in your gun that holds five >eject unfired round for no reason. >you now have eight rounds in your gun that holds five >reload done. Your gun now has five rounds in it
It's not just a matter of not knowing how guns work, it's failing at simple math as well. Not to mention lever guns didn't even have this problem in New Vegas.
LMAO. But you're being a homosexual here. This is happening because this is a legendary with the "Quad" effect. You get 4x ammo cap. 6x4=24 bullets.
It's still retarded af but there's a reason behind the retarded shit. You can also get a 8 shells cap. double barrel.
>no bro its INTENTIONAL so its ok!
Dumb homosexual. If Bethesda werent a bunch of naggers legendary weps with the Quad modifier would look unique and have special animations. But instead we have clown guns
Fags defend lazy shit like this and then moan and bitch that modern games are bad.
I sure do love the same weapon doing more damage because the UI tells me it's green instead of purple!
or just make it so each round in the animation loads 4 shots. it'd be kinda stupid, but it wouldn't look that bad nor it would stupidly increase the animation by 4, making the gun worse
Anon, that's just bad design. At most you can do with that concept is weapon degradation where some weapons would have less durability than others rather than bullshit surprise mechanics.
>Anon, that's just bad design
It's a bad game design if there is no fucking reward for using it. Make guns deadly and rare. Pipe guns are more available, but they can explode in your face. But you can still punch above your weight with a firearm.
But I agree that this shit is more suited for games where death have consequences. In Fo4 you just f9 to the nearest quicksave, so shit like that would be annoying. Or you don't necessary need to die, just a bad injury would be good enough
The "legendary" system that Bethesda has been using since fallout 4 is so fucking terrible. What was wrong with just having unique variants of guns that had different stats and maybe a special effect
Because they fucked up 95% of them seemingly on purpose. It's not much better with the current system either. 3 actually had some cool shit though so I have no clue why they can't seem to replicate that.
The 1911 is a classic that transcends time, it won two world wars and it will win the intergalactic wars as well. There is also a 2011 in the game but it looks gay
There is 1 laser pistol in the game and it's pic related, the top left is a pocket railgun and the bottom right is a particle pistol, the rest are normal pistols, top right is made by AA, middle right and bottom left are Laredo guns so the same manufacturer that committed these two
It's not just the barrel but the battery as well, Solstice seems to use one of these overcharge batteries that burn when discharging and if it's cheap piece of shit like that then lens is also cheap and burn out after few shots, I bet they wanted to make something like charge laser from EDF where the more you shot the less dmg you're doing but then either couldn't make the ammo pack work on some tester cried about losing the whole ammo pack when reloading after 1 shot, so they made it work like normal pistol.
What I hate about Bethesda is that not only do they get shit wrong but they can't be arsed to do the most basic research on weapons and what looks cool or not.
There's suspension of disbelief with these things and they're able to be more retarded than Half Life/CS, Black and FarCry2.
I wouldn't mind throwing out any and all logic when it comes to weapon design but if you're going to go that route shouldn't the weapons at least end up looking cool? These all look like shit.
>Metalstorm pistol that if you dropped it would break >Glock brand Glock with Glockizine >muh .45's stopping power >BIG IRON >Little iron >40k Las Pistol
>all these nogunz going full autism over the guns in a video game not being 100% realistic
Go buy a real gun, have some fun with it, and leave the autism at the door. There's no reason for video game guns to follow the same rules as IRL guns, unless you're playing a milsim or something.
I don't want their reloads to be real, I want them to not be unsatisfying and so retarded that even someone who has no knowledge about guns cringes at it.
if this was borderlands i'd agree with you, but starfield pretends it's more "grounded in realism".
and i wouldn't consider criticism such as "the mag should line up with the barrel"
One of the reasons I liked the gun designs in Starfield is that their mag count is displayed digitally on the gun itself. I don't know what that's called but that's tight as fuck.
It's supposed to be a magically impervious low profile e-ink display.
Neat, but kind of an insult given that not a single gun can manage selective fire.
i love the guns from this manufacturer, they are so compact. Probably make the most sense as a future space gun. Everything else is just retardedly bloated and because of ammo types utterly pointless.

Any reason why guns never put the trigger on the front grip? I wanted to design a weird blaster in that config, and it seems to me like there could be advantages to it, but I found no irl examples.
I'd just be a bit more complex and expensive to move it even more forward then? You'd have to make the foregrip bigger and integrated for example to house the mechanism.
What surprises me more is that they made a pretty good looking AK. This is their third attempt and the previous two were just awful, but still. All those horrible bethesda designs were intended that way.
>straps random piece of a polymer handguard down with just some duct-tape over already existing wooden furniture
If they just didn't think like retards they could make better design decisions.
>A race whos technology only works because they have mind powers to force anything they genuinely believe reality, and they're stupid enough to believe their dumbass gun designs should work.
I agree for every other weapon in Starfield, they look like retarded non functional bulpup nightmares with completely exposed actions that would explode if you ever tried firing them after dropping them into a puddle. All I'm asking is some fairness here: If you think a weird trigger guard and incorrect magazine size is a huge fuck up then you should recoil in disgust at the sight of someone jamming a stripper clip into a gun at a 60% degree angle and someone getting the rounds to cooperate.
The whole top half of the revolver reciprocates like a normal automatic pistol to re-cock the hammer. Pulling it back like that is not necessary since you don't have to chamber a round since, you know, it's a revolver, and it would be easier to just manually cock the hammer back with your thumb for the first shot, but it looks cool and would work just fine.
>Shit trigger guard for no fucking reason >incorrect mag capacity
And same shit applies to a tacticool version. It's shit. Still not as bad as the shotgun where you push the slide forward and bolt collapses on itself. Bethesda animators are either the most lazy motherfuckers out there or they don't get paid at all
Weird looking trigger guard and wrong magazine capacity isn't even offensive as far as the average in videogames goes. Leon loads his scoped Springfield with a fucking stripper clip in the original RE4 and I don't see many people complain about that game. Why? Because it's a good game but Starfield is ass so all fairness goes out the window and we act as if every little mistake is an "OH MY GOD HOW COULD THEY HAVE FUCKED THIS UP SO BADLY LMAO!!!" situation
It's just shows how fucked up the attention to detail is in starfield. I get it, you need to know how to actually load a scoped bolt action with internal mag, and japs aren't known for their extensive gun knowledge. But imagine being an artist looking at the image of perfectly fine 1911 and thinking, "Yeah, that trigger guard needs a little squeezin". For no fucking reason at all. You don't need to be autistic about guns to know that it looks wrong, uncanny even. And it's a common thing for Bethesdashit
>OP makes thread about bad bethesda model rigging >hands are clipping with the grip with EVERY GUN >image is named pistol clipping.png >everyone rags on abysmal bethesda gun designs instead
Guess it's hard to complain about the lesser problem when the bigger one is right in your face.
desu, those third person animation problems are so fucking common in FPS games. Even MW19 had them and people were praising that game for gun animations.
Starfield actually has a reverse problem, where some FPS animations are broken, while third person is completely normal
That's one the most cliche sci fi designs, and it looks like shit too.
[...]
How much better it would be
>every round type has a contextual damage value based on the payload material hardness, mass, and muzzle velocity when fired >only design methods to get "more damage" out of a gun are to use bigger/specialized target rounds or increase volume of fire, each with practical drawbacks >cheapest method is to just teach operators to aim better and hit weak spots for a damage multiplier
Does this potentially tickle your autism?
This shit is so basic, even nuCoDs have it. Just for some reason FPS oriented """"RPGs"""" are refusing to do anything remotely similar instead of doing flat number increase every fucking time. The only game where guns were satisfying to use was a fucking Insomnia, a fucking trashfire of a slavjunk, but .30 guns would actually one hit enemies, like they suppose to do. New Vegas was alright, but shooting guns feels like shit there with no recoil and anything.
I don't get it? Why are we not allowed to criticize a game that's supposedly set in the real world for having machines that are physically incapable of working when we have comparable machines in reality that do work?
If you're not going to constrain yourself to reality then why try to make them appear realistic at all? Why animate the weapon cycling? Why not have bottomless weapons like in Doom? Why have iron sights? Why have bullet casings? Why specify that the caseless ammo is caseless? Why not make every gun one handed?
I'd make a car analogy but someone always does that in these threads

What surprises me more is that they made a pretty good looking AK. This is their third attempt and the previous two were just awful, but still. All those horrible bethesda designs were intended that way.
That is by far the most retarded design posted yet. It’s just a normal AK rendered ineffective because that handguard will come off as soon as you fire it. So they “designed” a gun that you drop when you fire it.
For people trying to get into the game industry, making mods for broken bethesda games must be a pretty good resume stuffer
I unironically liked those
They are retarded.
I feel like you can kind of hand-wave it due to the prevalence of power armor stations and the nuclear tech present in Fallout's vehicles before the war. surely those tools would be advanced enough to fabricate basic handmade guns.
Yes?
>A few nukes dropping across the country means every single hardware store, factory, retail chain and every garage in every house with a man over the age of 30 living in it all suddenly dissapear
>we take for granted in a literal wasteland
have you actually looked what fallout wasteland looks like? It is, in fact, filled with garages covered in tools.
Yeah these tools are super rare
The grease gun requires specialized stamping machines for those steel sheets. It was engineered to be cheap for the US military over time but setting up tooling for them actually requires industrial tools not found in a garage.
The sten and grease gun filled the same roles but had extremely different manufacturing processes and only one could actually be reproduced in a garage
>post-apocalyptic
Most pipe guns in Fallout 4 were pre-war, which is why you found them in locked safes that haven't been opened since the bombs fell.
Thats the most dumbest shit when it was the retrofuture 50s so nobody look a t you bad when you have an assault rifle in your home
Thats just a dumb ass pull by bethesda.
>Most pipe guns in Fallout 4 were pre-war
Everything was pre war, even jet.
Looks like in todd fallout the east has become gayfornia sobno guns allowed for civillians in boston
Todd is a dumb Yankee midget. He probably knows less about guns than most Californians.
>you's see more of these retarded guns that you'd find from police raids in brasil.
A pipe gun is literally that, turning a pipe into a gun.
You dont make a gun out of pipes, moron.
>UMMM ACKSHULLY IT'S NOT A REAL GUN SO IT'S GAY
fuck off /k/
Nta, but they're shit because even guns made by low end gangs in Brazil look better, dont know why they didnt take inspiration from them
>it's cheapest gun made in ww2
False, that would be the liberator.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FP-45_Liberator
Designed to be mass air dropped over France in the hopes that angry French people would shoot Germans then take their guns to shoot more Germans with, the things were like $1 each to make and designed to be disposable. They came with just a few bullets and wouldn't survive shooting many more than that.
If you specified cheapest service gun, then sure it's the grease gun.

> Crimson Caravan (potentionaly)
>West Coast
>no one on the east coast knows what a fucking machine shop is
>no one knows how guns work despite everyone owning one
Come on anon
for fuck's sake, the east coast is the HOME of american firearms manufacturing (before the states went full retard and everyone uprooted to the midwest), plus all sorts of other industry that could be retooled into firearm manufacture on more or less a moment's notice
new york alone had FOUR different companies with mil contracts in WW2 (remington rand, singer, ithaca, savage) and that was just for fucking 1911s
Pipe guns are pre war
Where did all the guns go? There would be millions of examples scattered across every other household.
Last I checked the US in the fallout universe wasn't anti-gun so it's not like they would have been rare.
That is literally not true lel they were making guns long before gun factories and machine shops
this infuriates me because actual homemade pipeguns are still cooler looking than this shit. like even someone slamming two drainage pipes together to make a naggerrigged shotgun looks better than these jumbled piles of garbage
Bethesda isn't just nogunz, they're AGGRESSIVELY nogunz.
This shit, lack of partial reload, scaled leveling, RNG loot and pointless unique weapons along with barebones RPG elements is why I will never play a modern Bethesda game ever again.
I felt fucking empty after playing Skyrim after the first few cool setpieces.
Deep as a puddle and mods can't fix it.
now that I think about it, I pretty much stopped caring about modern vidya after the letdown that was Fallout 4
Little late, but at least you got there
2011 with Crysis 2 for me
That's a real gun too
Reality is crazier and more fun than what these creatively bankrupt homosexuals come up with.
yeah, it's really strange how no one pointed out how useless randomized loot is
I killed someone, got an interesting weapon, game immediately crashed
reload, go back to kill the guy, and got some shitty weapon instead
nothing more fun and immersive than playing slots every kill, really fun gameplay!
My only super gripey problem with these are
>guns are mass produced in the in game universe
>nobody thought to improve ergonomics at any point
none of these look comfortable to hold or even shoulder
B*thesda sucks at making firearms.
This was fucking atrocious.
I know nothing about guns. Can someone explain why these are so ridiculous?
Actual pipe guns look cooler and don't have random shit attached.
It's also based on Fallout 2 showing yet again that Bethesda has literally 0 creativity.
>let's just tie a bunch of pipes onto hunks of wood it'll be great I promise!
Design document is stupid. Why would wastelanders who know nothing about guns try to build a semi-auto rifle? Muzzleloaders, I get it, but there is no way a person without knowledge/experience would properly calculate the physics behind making it reliable. And ones you get said knowledge, there is no way you would make something like THAT.
don't waste your time /k/uckolds themselves don't know any better
Assuming these are supposed to be make shift guns in an apocalypse game
>The reflex sights are stupid. You're not going to be able to make a make-shift mounting system that's actually going to hold a zero to be worth it if you are using scraps.
>The drum magazine is seemingly bolted into the receiver of the first
>some custom made bolt carrier for the non-revolvers, yet no proper stock or trigger not even a trigger guard
>bottom left two rifle stocks would hurt like a bitch to shoot if it was a powerful round
I forgot how stupid the reflex sight was
It's amazing they wanted shitty looking guns yet REMOVE durability

The player's hands are clipping through the grips. Every single one.
I didn't even notice, this game is really complete slop.
the bigass revolver in right middle is the only good design here, 1911 not included
>brazilian gunsmithing
reminds me of the gameboy that tanked a mortar strike
also other example of how homemade guns look like with barebone tools
literally how the fuck do you even fire this
it looks like there's a spring-loaded bolt but that would surely mean you will raise the barrel when you pull it back meaning you will hit approximately nothing you are aiming it at. it also looks like it's designed not to fire the bullet but to launch it at someone like a projectile? this is some looney tunes shit.
i see a spring on the inside, maybe you just pull the hammer back like a slingshot or somthing
It's slamfire. You literally hit the hammer with your palm.
>mental image of a nigga putting his palm out next to his chest like telling you to stop, only to swing out this metal hunk and slamming it into his palm
>misses
It probably seemed cool in his head.
Manually operated striker
> designed not to fire the bullet but to launch it at someone like a projectile?
I’m not sure which part of this statement is more retarded.
That’s because you clearly don’t know how a bullet actually works
anon... what's the difference between "firing a bullet" and "launching it like a projectile"?
firing a bullet ignites the propellant and ditches the casing
launching it just throws it like a slingshot for 65% more bullet per bullet
Gun made by people who don't know what the fuck they're doing and drug addicts makes you learn to appreciate even the most basic firearms.
Is that a fucking flashlight? Lmao gangbangers be tacticool and shit now
Yup, hose clamp and all. Also, nice embellishment of a coin on the grip.
The similarities are uncanny.
Literally
I love that little guy like you wouldn't believe. bless Gun Runner's Arsenal for really making it shine.
>+7 damage

take the magazine out and insert your welrod. make sure the safety is on fire so you don't get her pregnant.
That's not what I meant, but that's what I get from being an ESL.
Can someone explain this comic for me please?
>cat fucks gun
>gun gets pregnant
Then why is the cat girl falling out of the gun? Did the cop hit the mag release? Is he out of ammo?
The cop also fucked the gun so when the cat fucked it too the end result was a catgirl. Also, I believe that yes, it's a joke on death gripping your gun during tense situations you accidentally hit the mag release but in this case it has extra steps.
Oh! The first frame is the cop zipping up his pants!
Thanks anon!
Did you miss the cumstain on the bed too?
Or did you feel a bond, like kinship and subconsciously ignore it?
it's the same color as the bed - I didn't even notice the cum dripping out from the cat until you made me go back and look
Didn't notice. I was more concerned that my own cat would start fucking my guns too.
Also the character is G41 from girls frontline which completes the gun-cat-human parentage
> absolute little unit.
And you can get it like from the start with almost every mod, insane.
>so you don't get her pregnant
its tactical
Is that a fucking deer antler as the grip? That's some Existenz shit right there.

You have to actively try to make something this abominable, surely?
This is some sort of voodoo enchanted magical weapon I would not touch that shit

But enough about America
>japanese gunsmithing
>the only good looking gun in here is the 1911
Jesus Christ, i'm not asking for tacticool modern guns with MW animations, but get a hint Bethesda, it can't be that hard to get a guy that can design good sci fi guns
I like the big blocky laser rifle and the two-shot laser rifle with the exact same silhouette as the Aliens pulse rifle. The ballistic weapons do all look pretty bad though, maybe the space P90 is the least bad one
>tacticool
>good
eat shit
Retard, read before posting
How do the guns shot without an trigger Mister Todd sir??
Bluetooth
Bethesda not being able to design both cool and realistically functional firearms is not anything new.
WRISTS OF STEEL
How do you fuck a 1911?
I like the middle right the most. I can't come up with a single reason you would design a barrel like that.
Why is it that these guns look worse than the fucking magnum from CE?
>what if the deagle was made in Star Trek
Forehead thermometers
Halo CE actually had some thought and decent artists behind it, as opposed to Starfield.
>top-mounted laser sight
What were they thinking?
This one gets a pass because the usmc guys and master chief have the guns sights synced up to their helmets on a HUD, top mounted makes sense in this case since it's be very close to the barrel
don’t need sights if you got a laser
This gun looks cool if you don't know how guns work, and even knowing how guns work i give it a pass because it it's aesthetically pleasing and shiny
It always looks so long and cooler when you hold it
that's what I told your mom when she was jerking me off last night
my mom.... isnt with us anymore...
yeah I know she's here with me rn giving me that sloppy toppy
IT. JUST. WORKS.
Inspiration for a weapon in the future DLC, saw it in the design docs.
the drill really completes it
It really does. Also still can't figure out what the stock is from. Maybe a FAL?
Significant design issue, but I think revolving shotguns and rifles do look cool, but I'd never want to own one.
> suicide gun
>the tentacles made to try and stabilize it

the powder burns on the stapler tell a story
its probably just from him welding that abomination on to it, it think the stapler would be destroyed if it actually had to withstand the pressure from a bullet
>6 rounds
>your hand will be broken and twisted after first
kek
>put your hand right under the revolver cylinder, what's the worst that can happen!
funny how we have real life examples of why revolver rifles don't work yet no one decided to look at them
let me show you its features
this shit works, doesn't it
Of course. 420RPM (varied), shoots .22LR. Has zero components from existing firearms and because full auto weapons are very illegal in Finland, it was confiscated by the police when he tried to apply for a permit for it.
>it was confiscated by the police when he tried to apply for a permit for it
finnish autism is unbelievable
Yup, unlike most gun designs in Bethesda games.
it's finnish, it works
do you use the hammer drill function to strike the firing pin?
>12Gauge caseless
It's not a slug, isn't it?
>a vial?
>knob
>nail file on a swivel
>belt buckle with a pneumatic piston
Asking an AI to generate a gun would be more acceptable
I guess working on the same principle as a blunderbuss for some inane reason?
>It's not a slug, isn't it?
the gun can be converted to fire slugs, flechettes, and electromagnetic shot, but it comes stock with buckshot. they're just mods that you install to the gun that change the projectile and it doesn't change the loaded ammo type.
>the gun can be converted to fire slugs, flechettes, and electromagnetic shot, but it comes stock with buckshot. they're just mods that you install to the gun that change the projectile and it doesn't change the loaded ammo type.
>they're just mods that you install to the gun that change the projectile and it doesn't change the loaded ammo type.
>mods that you install to the gun that change the projectile and it doesn't change the loaded ammo type.
Thank you spurdo
i swear, Bethesda and modern bungie are the worst weapon designers of all time. at least with the ridiculous swords in games like final fantasy they look like swords that someone could at least attempt to hold, these guns look legitimately dangerous to the user and look like shit
Bethesda literally hasn't made a good game in 20 years.
Why would you have a bunch of crazy space guns and then just have like a boring ordinary glock in there.
Looks like the guns I made as a kid using K'Nex and rubber bands
sick
my cousin used to do this, I remember he used to get thos metal Knex pieces, sharpen one end and use them like bolts in a crossbow
Once we accidentally shot it through the drywall in our ceiling, shit could've fucked us up lol
I used to modify the air compressors in Nerf guns so that they shot way further/faster. Then I'd buy those darts from the dollar store that were made out of a much thicker foam, and replaced the head of the darts with a thumbtack. I made a friend cry by shooting him in the ass with it, I didn't actually expect it to go through his jeans lmao.
what an asshole
Surprised? Bethesda doesn't give a fuck.
no its the opposite, they do give a fuck but most of their references are from movie/TV props or comic illustrations and not real guns. what they fail to understand is that movies/tv and comics have the saving grace of not actually showing how the gun works, while vidya that is in first person does have to show the gun working
It's literally the combat shotgun but in pistol form
Reminds me the halo brutes mini shotgun
Someone who is bored enough needs to make an internal diagram of these things.
I got bored
>bore-d
The top right is meant to emulate the MTR-8 as is Starfield's thing with space-ifying real guns so it doesn't actually teleport back but is simply a bit lower than it needs to be.
What the fuck do you mean by
>a little lower
I just thought anon's image was funny until you posted that. Now I'm horrified. I'm even an artfag god damn I'm going to be insanely careful drawing guns from now on.
The cylinder is too low in Starfield's version of the revolver compared to its irl counterpart.
That one he posted is a real gun, the round travels backwards from the drum and into the chamber.
The Starfield shit is not close to the barrel of the gun, it's way too low and can't travel upwards because it's stuck to a revolver drum.
The MTR-8's cylinder doesn't feed the cartridges back so I don't know why that anon drew Starfield's gun like it's supposed to teleport back. Like I said, it's main issue is that the cylinder is simply not in-line with barrel and is too low.
Sorry to break your bubble but Rattler isn't a revolver but tiny PPSH, the extender magazine mod replace the 12 bullets drum with long magazine.
So it's like a Landstad 1900 and a MTR-8 had a baby? BETHESDA DOES IT AGAIN!
No, it's tiny PPSH that sell the rest of the barrel and muzzle as extra because Laredo is shit like that.
You mean a Suomi KP/-31.
That's one the most cliche sci fi designs, and it looks like shit too.
How much better it would be
well tarkov is a multiplayer looter shooter and about the last thing i give a shit about
Now post the long mag version
this would be cool if they cut the barrel out altogether and have it as a ultra lore bore pistol firing nearly straight from the cylinder. make it a fast firing single fire pistol with low recoil but high bullet drift.
*ultra low bore
Look at this abomination of an "assault rifle".
>2 foregrips
Was this made by aliens or something?
Now find the fire selector switch.
What a wonderful place to put it, also, no trigger guard.
>Now find the fire selector switch.
What the fuck
Did Bethesda actually use AI to generate these weapons? I find it hard to believe a human being would even think about putting it there
I can believe someone who has literally no knowledge of basic mechanics could fuck it up. Or they just truly didn't care.
>the gun has 3 foregrips
>3 holes for ???
>all that overdesigned shit at the side
>that magazine
Probably designed by whoever is responsible for the L85. I'd say bong but let's be real it was probably a diversity paki
>Did Bethesda actually use AI to generate these weapons?
I'm pretty sure an AI would do it better because at least it'd take a look at real weapons before making anything
Yeah from the same planet as N64 controllers
Nuh-uh. Clearly it's not overdesigned enough, needs more pointless greeble.
You see, if you have more random shit jutting off of something, it means it's more advanced.
Is that a fucking beer opener?
>Gas chamber
>smaller gas chamber
>gash chamber ejector
looks ai generated
kek I just noticed the fire selector on the front foregrip thingy that you can't even grip. on par with the worst of FO4 imo
>they actually modeled a selector switch
>but the only way to flip the switch is by taking it to a crafting bench
>and smothering it with adhesive, raw titanium ore and some other shit I forgot
y tho?
>fire selector on the foward foregrip
Since this is now /k/ thread. Here are some South African homemade firearms. Bethesda didn't even to make shit up for Fallout, just needed to look to the third world.
that would require Bethesda to care about gun design. they just copied random sci-fi designs that they saw in a comic or TV show for most of the guns, then got some random cheap bb guns for the "old earth" guns
> copied
Isn't it was outsourced to pajeets?
if you look back at Fallout 3 and 4 which were made by Bethesda, you can see their shitty design since even before the pajeetining
That was fine when the setting was the collapse of the entire human race. It makes sense to have a battery duck taped to a pipe that shoots lasers
akshully they outsourced it to liquid development who worked on borderlands and mass effect 2
> actual pipe guns look better than pipe guns from fo4
It's a strange case where reality is better than fiction.
> An Ister AR-FA7, built for taking out light armoured vehicles. It will devastate you.
The gun design in DE is so bad whenever one crops up, thankfully the game doesn't really involve many guns.
>Looks like an LMG.
>Is a breach-loaded anti-tank cannon.
>?????
Even for fiction that's gay and retarded.
Beautiful.
Star field
>here are your futuristic weapons bro
Fallout
>we pieced together something for you, anon, should do the trick against those mutants
Kek, if the narrative was proper it would be ok
I don't get it.
In the future, every fucking workshop would have a 3D printer. They'd shit out guns like picrel constantly.
Mining metal in space is cheaper than pumping dead dino israelites and transporting liquid to factories to make plastics. We are going 40k style, our cathedrals will be made of titanium.
So print it in metal.
That's fucking expensive.
Casting is and always will be the cheapest option.
do you not get the part about "the future" ???
its expensive... NOW
we are developing liquid metal 3d printing methods and they're surprisingly advancing quite rapidly
Nothing will NEVER replace of just pouring shit directly into a mold in terms of economy.
No amount of cope will change this.
This one of those designs that the more you look at it, the more cursed it gets.
How do you even grip this?? Wtf are these people thinking
You don't. You hand completely clips through the "grip"/magazine when you look at the "shotgun" in third-person perspective in-game.
so is everyone in the future just strong as fuck and can shoot without that factory sawed-off smacking them in the face/chest?
How the fuck is thing even supposed to feed rounds?
I don't think I've seen a single gun that doesn't just clip through the player lmao. They really didn't give a single shit about anything.
I want you to read what is written on that magazine, the big letters that start with 12.
Yeah and weapons that supposedly use the same ammo have different sizes in the game, the weapon animations differ from third person to first person, your point being? I was just showing you how the action supposedly work in the Bethesda interns head when they were designing it
>12 gauge caseless
Yeah?
It would work for slugs obviously, and figuring it out for shot probably wouldn’t be much more difficult than overcoming all the other issues with caseless.
these seems like a minor issue
>his thumb is too fat to fit
Poor homosexuals in California have got it worse.
Thought it was a pistol at a glance. Considering what it is now, would be an excellent wrist breaking device.
>yeah bro, you should totally stick your thumb in there, it's completely safe
>recoil? nah, don't worry about that. it's totally safe, bro, trust me
>California compliant pistol
None of the features of that firearm is California compliant at all.
wait this is supposed to be a shotgun? What in the goddamn...
>caseless 12 ga
how? are shots just glued together?
What /k/ autist are you talking about?
leftists are progunz, libs are nogunz
>despite being a lefty
>is not a nogunz
DOES HE KNOW?
The hell is going on here
>masked man pulls a handgun and starts shooting at a Free Palestine Rally and March
>two based armed leftists at the rally rush towards him and order him to drop the gun and take off the mask
>he gets arrested
>later revealed he was shooting a 'splatter ball gun'
If you're going to pull a stunt like that at least wear something like this
Rip Torn is still fucking alive?
reflex sight, giant ass flashlight and muzzle break
still no trigger discipline.
And leftists want me to take them seriously as if they know what theyre doing?
Fuck Israel and Palestine though I want them to kill eachother
>still no trigger discipline
He is aiming at an actual target, where is he supposed to keep his finger, in his asshole? Fucking trigger discipline retards are the worst.
>actual target
>disarmed guy with his hands up
You can take your finger off the trigger when he is on the ground, not standing right in front of you.
You can also shoot him by mistake like a retard in public while a dozen onlookers are taking photos and video.
Not like a leftoid understands optics or knows how to deescalate, but it's something to attempt before going for blood.
We are anonymoose we are legunz, expect us (to die)
SEXOOOOOOOOOO
Is that his mom in the passenger seat?
that’s the guy from linus tech tips
>despite being a lefty
>t. doesn't know about socialist rifle clubs in the U.S.
There's an even sizeable gun community in Youtube that are very hard lefties.
have a nice day
?
inrange and forgotten weapons are not left wing. psychotic wignats accuse them of being far left because in their pea brains they believe that having popular gun channels on youtube that aren't far right spergs is somehow hurting their cause.
Carl is left. Dude’s an unironic satanist pastor he’s in that whole group. Ian seems to not be particularly attached to political groups.
>unironic satanist
"unironic satanism" is libertarian spergery. nobody ever considered the fedora tipping "church of satan" a left wing group until tradlarpers decided to pretend to be christians 5 years ago.
What the fuck are you even arguing about, Karl is a self-avowed leftie, especially about socialist boogs and is public about it, he just doesn't do it in InrangeTV.
Lefties aren’t luciferians or satanists or whatever but if you’re a card carrying religious contrarian you’re almost certainly hard left.
Church of Satan literally exists to subvert Christianity and take advantage of religious freedoms to spite it.
Look at that picture again. Karl is a very HARD leftie.
You sperging about wignats out of the gate reveals more than you can possibly imagine.
>Ian doesn't hang out with him anymore after he found out that Karl was a cuck
Wew
>despite being a lefty
Your only understanding of politics is shitty Ganker memes. Wait until someone tells you the conservatives are puritans, you'll absolutely go fucking mad
The vast majority of leftists are degenerates who wouldn't survive without their vegan co-ops, I doubt their weak, estrogenized arms could even lift a firearm.
caseless ammunition is held together by solid propellant that the bullet is placed in.
it's been experimented with for decades, but while it has the advantage of cutting down on the weight of ammo by getting rid of metal cases, there were too many disadvantages with the ammo to see widespread adoption.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_%26_Koch_G11?useskin=vector
This looks like shit
No wonder no one uses caseless
No one uses caseless because they aren't cheaper and the guns that fire them are a bitch to maintain.
how the fuck do you hold this thing?
is it called "thumb breaker 2000"?
The third person model literally just clips the finger through it.
Wait, that's a fucking shotgun? I thought it was a pistol, if it was it wouldn't be so bad. A shotgun huh.
How wacky.
Need a guntuber to make this irl and try and fire it full auto for a whole clip
It's amazing how it manages to fail on every level. Usually someone does their job right on these AAA shit fests.
Ignore the reused animation, the guns themselves are either ugly overdesigned shit or just ugly shit like the last one. Why are artists at bethesda so shit?
its not the /k/fags fault, its the character modeller thinking you hold a gun like how a reporter holds a microphone when interviewing someone
>SIX WORLD WARS
>high tech revolver that shoots multiple projectiles per round in an array
>basically a future glock with a bunch of addons for zero-atmosphere
>a 1911
>a revolver but with the barrel on the bottom of the cylinder
>another revolver in a closed zero-atmosphere system
>weird laser weapon made by crazy religious extremists
>OP playing as a girl with small hands
Imaginary issues for nogunz to whine about.
>t. nogunz
redditors
>"white people have no culture"-tier post
Hey there, Pete Heinz, still making lame-ass excuses for Todd. And now you do it for free?
>Zero-atmopshere
What do you know. Bethesda was aiming for it and they sure fucking nailed it.
you sound hella gay
Bethesda guns are always disappointing
Why are all of the guns tilted downwards other than the Borderlands looking ass gun on the bottom right corner?
Mods will fix it
>When?
When mod tools come out
>When is that?
After we sell you all the dlc (we won't be repeating the dawnguard/heartshome mistake)
>When would that be?
About 3-5 years
Cant wait todd retirement before elder niggas 6
>(we won't be repeating the dawnguard/heartshome mistake)
What mistake?
Modders had already made better housing/vampire/werewolf mechanics and sales supposedly suffered because of it.
I made some compatibility patches for those mods, and talked with some of the authors - Bethesda apparently contacted some of them and "asked" that the mods be dependent on the DLC.
Don't forget hearthfire was (and still is on vanilla) absolutely broken. to the point most homes were barely functional.
>please understand, small indy company with 25 years old engine and low sales/profit
fuckers should atleast use unreal and stop with the shitty engine ages ago
b-b-b-but then they wouldn't be able to put like a million pointless physics objects in every room!
Skyrim had less objects than Fallout 3, and Fallout 4 less than Skyrim, and from footage Starfield less than Fallout 4.
Considering the fact that Bethesda Game Studio does a terrible job with combat, it stands to reason that they don't take weapons and armor very seriously. BGS games have some of the most ridiculously shallow and simplistic combat mechanics in the industry, so of course their weapons and armor are equally ridiculous.
my favorite part is how this also happens with modded guns
I don't get it
>shoot once, reload five bullets
You forgot
>cycling animation ejects casing
>then plays a reload animation which ends with a casing being ejected again lol
How did I never notice the double ejection that's so fucking funny
sweet Jesus
>gun holds a max of five rounds
>fire one, eject shell
>gun now has four rounds
Fine so far
>press reload button
>hammer drops for no reason
>insert five rounds for a total of nine rounds in your gun that holds five
>eject unfired round for no reason.
>you now have eight rounds in your gun that holds five
>reload done. Your gun now has five rounds in it
It's not just a matter of not knowing how guns work, it's failing at simple math as well. Not to mention lever guns didn't even have this problem in New Vegas.
ladies and gentlemen, the clown revolver
or you know, a top-break and a speed-loader
you mean FOUR speed loaders, right?
And the hand phasing through the gun
LMAO. But you're being a homosexual here. This is happening because this is a legendary with the "Quad" effect. You get 4x ammo cap. 6x4=24 bullets.
It's still retarded af but there's a reason behind the retarded shit. You can also get a 8 shells cap. double barrel.
that sounds just as funny as the revolver, and I don't see how anon is a fag for posting a funny webm
did you miss the part where the hand phases through the gun with each bullet
That's the "Ghost" legendary effect on the gloves.
The mechanism that drives the round into the barrel also doesn't move.
>no bro its INTENTIONAL so its ok!
>I need confetti and shiny effects on my legendary weapons
Go play Borderlands 3 then nagger.
No, he needs 24 barrels on that revolver, but Gearbox and Bethesda are shit and have homosexuals like you defending them so it will never happen.
>pic
I was gonna call you a nagger homosexual and such but I'd unironically like that retarded weapon in a game.
or just make it so each round in the animation loads 4 shots. it'd be kinda stupid, but it wouldn't look that bad nor it would stupidly increase the animation by 4, making the gun worse
That's the problem of mixing real life guns with RPG mechanics
Also, dat clipping tho
Only 4 and 6 are outright dogshit.
>cartel starts hiring orks for weapon design
how do you respond?
Paint it red
Do you really want it to shoot faster
No, i want it to SHOOT FASTA!1
Better yet, paint it Purple.
i send them my resume
>The year is 50,000CE
>The browning hi power is still in use
cyka eternal
what do you expect when they can't even make better flashlights
Do people even realize he is talking about the shitty clipping the hands do for each pistol?
No, they don't
anon, i...
>wastelander knows nothing about guns
>manages to make full auto pipe rifles without them exploding in your arms
>he wants a game where there's a random chance of death when using crafted/poorly maintained weapons.
>consequences, in my games? A HORROR
Imagine if crafting mechanics were actually useful, wow
I'd rather have a game where the people building guns at least know how they work
It's a bethesda game.
one would imagine Todd would care about presentation in his magnum opus
bethesda is so bad at making good armor and weapon designs its not even funny
These look cool.
Especially the blade runner pistol. When you mod it it doesn't resemble it as much though, kinda annoying.
I forgot how phenomenally shitty the interface is without StarUI
>amazing 3d render of a cool gun
>uh.. b-but the ui is bad
well you're clearly not biased or anything.
I didn't say the gun was bad, it's not
The "legendary" system that Bethesda has been using since fallout 4 is so fucking terrible. What was wrong with just having unique variants of guns that had different stats and maybe a special effect
Because if they did that they'd only put in enough effort for it to turn out like Skyrim, almost none of which were ever used by anyone.
Because they fucked up 95% of them seemingly on purpose. It's not much better with the current system either. 3 actually had some cool shit though so I have no clue why they can't seem to replicate that.
>5 nonsensical """cool""" and """unique""" laser guns that look like toys
>literally just a present-day 1911
Is Todd braindead?
The 1911 is a classic that transcends time, it won two world wars and it will win the intergalactic wars as well. There is also a 2011 in the game but it looks gay
There is 1 laser pistol in the game and it's pic related, the top left is a pocket railgun and the bottom right is a particle pistol, the rest are normal pistols, top right is made by AA, middle right and bottom left are Laredo guns so the same manufacturer that committed these two
guns.
why would they design it so that when you reload it you also have to change the entire barrel? in universe i mean
Bethesda thinks guns are magic not bound by the laws of physics.
1911/2011 is the current king of gun culture since Russian weapons got perma banned and every other rifle/shotgun is becoming an M4
>brazilian gun making
What I hate about Bethesda is that not only do they get shit wrong but they can't be arsed to do the most basic research on weapons and what looks cool or not.
There's suspension of disbelief with these things and they're able to be more retarded than Half Life/CS, Black and FarCry2.
And at least those could actually work.
I wouldn't mind throwing out any and all logic when it comes to weapon design but if you're going to go that route shouldn't the weapons at least end up looking cool? These all look like shit.
>Metalstorm pistol that if you dropped it would break
>Glock brand Glock with Glockizine
>muh .45's stopping power
>BIG IRON
>Little iron
>40k Las Pistol
>all these nogunz going full autism over the guns in a video game not being 100% realistic
Go buy a real gun, have some fun with it, and leave the autism at the door. There's no reason for video game guns to follow the same rules as IRL guns, unless you're playing a milsim or something.
Otherwise, fucking relax and just have fun.
Don't use Steve for your dogshit opinions, the guns are just ugly and make no sense
disgusting opinion by tourist who doesn't even watch steveMREInfo
the kodoma is kino fight me homosexuals
>be Bethesda artist
>pick up staple gun and fiddle around with it
>"hey, this could be a cool gun in the game"
and they were right
even better is that the Kodama fires flechettes and inherently causes enemies to bleed
Everything else is just retardedly bloated and because of ammo types utterly pointless.
this is why I only outfit companions with combatech they have the aesthetic down
So, is there any gun in this game where "holding it" animation lines up and they applied that to all guns or does it line up with absolutely nothing?
Fuck this
Post crazy real shit better than Bethesda homosexualry
Thought it was the service gun from Control in the thumbnail.
To give Korobov credit, his designs actually functioned.
I'm not shitting on them, I just think they look retro cool unlike Bethesda garbage.
Fair enough. The Soviets had a pretty crippling fetish for bakelite though.
>There are hundreds of cold-war era prototypes that are almost perfect for Fallout game props
>We got Lewis gun of FEV steroids as "assault rifle"
I hate Bethesda
>I hate Bethesda
As you should, not even Blizzard is as lazy and up their own ass like Bethesda despite having a similar shit eating mentally ill fanbase of complete utter fucking losers they milk endlessly with shovelware
Resistance carbine if he real
That translucent stock is fucking cool
Dude's a satanist, drinks from cum chalice and a Black lover. He sound pretty cringe, don't care if leftie or not
I want one
wheres the foregrip
or is this some “you see ivan, you will never shoot the inaccurate” type shit
Use your eyes, blind man.
Any reason why guns never put the trigger on the front grip? I wanted to design a weird blaster in that config, and it seems to me like there could be advantages to it, but I found no irl examples.
The closer the trigger is to the firing mechanism, the less complex it has to be
That's a given, but then there are guns that space them way out anyway.
Presumably the trigger finger in your dominant hand is stronger and more dextrous so that probably has something to do with it
>no irl examples
>replies to one irl example
They’re called bullpups. The advantages are compactness, but they are more complex and expensive.
I think he meant the foregrip
I'd just be a bit more complex and expensive to move it even more forward then? You'd have to make the foregrip bigger and integrated for example to house the mechanism.
>straps random piece of a polymer handguard down with just some duct-tape over already existing wooden furniture
If they just didn't think like retards they could make better design decisions.
Everything looks fine to me, I think you're all just a bunch of stupid grotz who don't know how to use a gun.
MIND BOOLETS
All Destiny weapons look like shit almost as bad as the armors.
Destiny is shit also
your mom is a whore and looks like a cheap whore
Your awful insults won't make Destiny any less shit you Blackid.
>A race whos technology only works because they have mind powers to force anything they genuinely believe reality, and they're stupid enough to believe their dumbass gun designs should work.
why is bungie the king of good looking weapons?
>The hands don't line up for any of them
how
some cursed mixture of apathy and laziness
Post more noguns weapon designs.
posting a classic
Isn't that a real semi auto revolver revolver? Webley or something. She just uses it like a retard
but that's a real gun you dork
I agree for every other weapon in Starfield, they look like retarded non functional bulpup nightmares with completely exposed actions that would explode if you ever tried firing them after dropping them into a puddle. All I'm asking is some fairness here: If you think a weird trigger guard and incorrect magazine size is a huge fuck up then you should recoil in disgust at the sight of someone jamming a stripper clip into a gun at a 60% degree angle and someone getting the rounds to cooperate.
>talking shit about Princess Principal
that's the webley-fosbery moron, it's an actual automatic revolver.
Are you telling me you're supposed to slide the barrel back like that in real life?
yes
The whole top half of the revolver reciprocates like a normal automatic pistol to re-cock the hammer. Pulling it back like that is not necessary since you don't have to chamber a round since, you know, it's a revolver, and it would be easier to just manually cock the hammer back with your thumb for the first shot, but it looks cool and would work just fine.
I still remember /k/ sperging about these
>stylish witch
>clothes made of hair
>uses flare gun
>actually shoots flair
heh
They're more like giant derringers than flare guns.
Just have slavs be your dedicated gun designers, they always come up with the most creative AND aesthetically pleasing shit imaginable.
That 1911 is fine you dumb shit. It has a weird trigger guard but everything else looks decent.
Look at the hands, dumb shit.
>Shit trigger guard for no fucking reason
>incorrect mag capacity
And same shit applies to a tacticool version. It's shit. Still not as bad as the shotgun where you push the slide forward and bolt collapses on itself. Bethesda animators are either the most lazy motherfuckers out there or they don't get paid at all
Weird looking trigger guard and wrong magazine capacity isn't even offensive as far as the average in videogames goes. Leon loads his scoped Springfield with a fucking stripper clip in the original RE4 and I don't see many people complain about that game. Why? Because it's a good game but Starfield is ass so all fairness goes out the window and we act as if every little mistake is an "OH MY GOD HOW COULD THEY HAVE FUCKED THIS UP SO BADLY LMAO!!!" situation
dude, every gun bethesda has ever made is nonfunctional
the small fuck ups in re4 is charming in comparison
It's just shows how fucked up the attention to detail is in starfield. I get it, you need to know how to actually load a scoped bolt action with internal mag, and japs aren't known for their extensive gun knowledge. But imagine being an artist looking at the image of perfectly fine 1911 and thinking, "Yeah, that trigger guard needs a little squeezin". For no fucking reason at all. You don't need to be autistic about guns to know that it looks wrong, uncanny even. And it's a common thing for Bethesdashit
The nu-male doesn't understands guns.
>OP makes thread about bad bethesda model rigging
>hands are clipping with the grip with EVERY GUN
>image is named pistol clipping.png
>everyone rags on abysmal bethesda gun designs instead
Guess it's hard to complain about the lesser problem when the bigger one is right in your face.
should've expected the gun autists to come out in droves to tell everyone how much they know about guns tbh
desu, those third person animation problems are so fucking common in FPS games. Even MW19 had them and people were praising that game for gun animations.
Starfield actually has a reverse problem, where some FPS animations are broken, while third person is completely normal
Bethesda has much more glaring animation/rigging issues than "hand clip into pistol grips".
man i wanna make an fps with /k/ autism
>every round type has a contextual damage value based on the payload material hardness, mass, and muzzle velocity when fired
>only design methods to get "more damage" out of a gun are to use bigger/specialized target rounds or increase volume of fire, each with practical drawbacks
>cheapest method is to just teach operators to aim better and hit weak spots for a damage multiplier
New Vegas was alright, but shooting guns feels like shit there with no recoil and anything.
it does, kinda reminds me of children of a dead earth, but instead of space gunship autism is just gun autism
>fps where you shoot people, loot their funs, disassemble them and use those parts to create your monstrosities
i like it
let me play as a warlord in [insert failed state here] and i'm in
Literally me when a game has Russian guns featured.
>Russian guns
>israelite'd Finn'd AK is there
Might as well add something like Origin 12.
Why did Bethesda go backwards on melee weapons?
Starfield has the best melee weapons what are you talking about?
wtf
Can you craft that thing into a laser blade? Nope enjoy that gay sci knife
I don't see the problem
>stabs a gallon of liquid and it explodes
>somehow this is a stand-in for human flesh
stab some ballistic gel cmon wtf
The human body is 99% water
It's designed for sharks, apparently.
wow that’s disgusting. be a man and twist the knife if you want to inflict suffering.
Oh shit its legendary +O2 knife
>they gave them mod association keywords
>didn't give them any mods
>not even quality level mods
Did you have to put the ugliest barrels and attachments onto them? The guns are pretty ugly as is but that image is disingenuous
Disgusting.
I'd make a car analogy but someone always does that in these threads
gun realismfags get the rope
Why?
It's not even about realism anymore, it's about designing something that looks fucking functional.
fuck off, pete hines
bethesda has never designed a good looking weapon
even in their fantasy games like skyrim, all of the weapons were giant foam children's toys
Ugly fucking weapons I swear.
Bethesda is just terrible at designing weapons
I like all three.
they did a great job with the Fallout 76 plasma caster, I like how they made the design more rounded compared to the NV version.

nice to see the players hands still clip through every weapon in the game
bethesda is finished
What surprises me more is that they made a pretty good looking AK. This is their third attempt and the previous two were just awful, but still. All those horrible bethesda designs were intended that way.
that actually does look nice. weird. its dumb, but i like the aesthetic.
That is by far the most retarded design posted yet. It’s just a normal AK rendered ineffective because that handguard will come off as soon as you fire it. So they “designed” a gun that you drop when you fire it.
Warframes weapons always were goofy, but sicarus (bottom right) always looked pretty cool to me
>people posting favela guns
>nobody posted the goat "trinta e doze"
12 gage handgun
ofc someone made a san andreas mod of it
come on bro, weve had better favela 12 gauge revolvers discovered
The speed holes on that revolver hurt my soul
