I don't know about the others, but I was definitely just simping for her.

      Blaidd is her brother/shadow.
Iji I think was their caretaker (so their nanny).
Seluvis was a pervert trying to rape her.
Adula is some dragon she once defeated and who now serves her, no idea if because she forces it to or because she genuinely convinced it.
Darriwil was just some guy who apparently started serving her but then pussied out or something.

So the first two at least did agree with her views. Seluvis was just simping and looking for a chance to spike her drink.

I'm holding out for the manga to take the Ranni ending but I feel like the protagonist is too much of a doof for there to be a romantic angle to it

Ranni is best FromSoft girl and it's not close. There's a reason her ending had more trophy clears than the default ending despite having requirments.

No her ending is the easiest to get that's why. The only way you'd get a normal ending is if you ignore everything else in the world and beeline the main areas. NPCs/Areas related to her are as early and spread around as possible and her quests are basically always available. You'd have to entirely ignore shit like radahn and everything tied to that in order to miss her stuff. Compare that to something like dung eater/frenzied flame where all you get is 1 npc that moves around, no hints, and is locked behind several layers of obscure bullshit with no waifu in sight. They even cut Kales questline leading you to the frenzied flame even though it was finished because it would have competed with Rannis quest for the players attention and motivation.

From kneecapped/didn't even try with every other ending just so Ranni could look better by comparison

I missed her entire questline because I triggered the Radahn festival right off the bat, and saved it for later because I thought it was some late-game stuff and you were supposed to collect a bunch of allies throughout the game to help you. So she was never there in her tower like Rogier said, and I gave up after a while and stopped checking. There was no hint that the festival was a block for her or that Blaidd was somehow tied to her.

Blaidd tells you to talk to iji who leads you to caria manor. Also the only way to start the radahn festival before her quest means you skipped a ton of shit to get to the Altus Plateu so again you had to actively ignore stuff to miss it at all. I never did that so I don't know what the recovery state is but I know for a fact that she is always available. It's probably grabbing the blade from nokron if I had to assume which is also obviously the next place to go when you've beaten radahn anyways

I didn't "skip" stuff, I literally just explored in the direction that took my fancy, because I thought it was an open-world game and didn't know the game was going to punish me for that. And Iji tells you NOT to go there, and you don't get to know his connection to Ranni until you meet her, so no, that wasn't a hint either (and even so it still wouldn't have been enough to make it clear the festival was blocking a largely unrelated part of the game.)

After completing the game I checked the guides and sure enough she was there in her tower, but like I said I had been there so many damn times when the festival was active I eventually stopped checking.

I'm 100% sure Ranni is in the tower even when the festival is active. The only time she "leaves" at this point in the game she would still be there sleeping. All you need to do to activate the festival is go to the Altus Plateau once, most players will do this before finding Ranni. Also I started Ranni's quest when the festival was active on my first playthrough (on release) when the festival was active because I was having a hard time beating Radan.

Did you repeatedly go up the wrong tower?

I stumbled onto her by accident when I had explored maybe 10% of the map because my first playthrough was just following whatever people said was the OP gear you could grab early and I still found her. On my second go, actually exploring, I cannot imagine how you could miss Carian manor. It's visible and the biggest landmark from the plateaus 2 main entrances. There is no way you could miss it before radahn festival unless you actively ignore it or by listening to patches and ending up at volcano manor.

                >following internet guides gets you on the "intended" path
Big surprise. I played the game blind and had already explored parts of Caelid (including Redmane castle) before I set foot on the bit of land to the west of Raya Lucaria. If I recall it was because of the fake teleport chest to the Sellia crystal cave, and then I was sort of trying to make my way back/explore at the same time. Same thing with the Dragonbarrow and the Gurranq teleport. I may have been kicked down the cliff by Patches in Gelmir before getting to Caria Manor as well.

                >Internet guides
I didn't follow any "guide" I just heard about shit like the caelid teleport chest and beelined for that and ignored everything else and despite the fact that I had explored barely anything and not knowing anything about the Ranni questline in advance I still got annoyed at how much her stuff gets shoved in your face. Pretty much every single in-game "that looks interesting" place is directly tied to her questline. You're just so retarded that you're a severe edge case that managed to miss her despite being the most forced ending imaginable

                >I didn't follow any "guide" I just heard about shit
Same thing. And how exactly is exploring in a game about exploring in any way retarded? The game has multiple paths and entry points to virtually ever part of the game for precisely this reason, allowing you to do what you want, and yet they decided to block off a large part of the game if you "did it wrong." That's shit design.

If you activate the festival and Blaidd is standing there among the other participants, then no, she won't turn up in her tower until you beat Radahn and "free up" Blaidd for her quest. Which is stupid because you don't even technically need him for that.

Ranni wants what's best for humanity as a whole and she's okay with breaking a few eggs. If you choose to side with her then you accept that.
For contrast all Elden Lord endings are just different flavors of status quo and Frenzied Flame is just breaking ALL the eggs.
